    Congratulations on adding another 1/2 ounce to your stack! I imagine it matters very little the size of gold a person acquires. Well, at least to a point - I will not be getting any 100 gram bars. I do like smaller sizes better in the event of needing to sell a couple here or there. However, more important I believe is getting the most for the least cost. You are hopefully going to get at least 10 of these. Good video!

      My intention was to fill the capsules I'd bought for them, but as you saw, two are bloody mint sealed.
      I actually gave you a mention in a recent video. I can't remember which one it was though.

      @@CyberCurtainTwitcher I like to buy 1/10 ounce coins and put them in a Junk tube just to fill it.
      It doesn’t matter what they are as long as they are 1/10 ounce. When I order off of eBay, sometimes they come in a clear plastic like yours, so I just staple them in a 2x2 and throw them in a box. 👍

      We don't seem to be able to get the same capsules that you get for some reason. The ones with the rings also take up a lot more space than direct fit.

    Sweet! You gotta love those Britannia's! Thanks for the heads up on the black rings. I use Air Tights that are direct fit. Although I have a few that came with black foam. I have a beautiful 2014 Kook in black foam I'll be removing straight away to an AirTite.

    CCT... The foam definitely gives off something. I have left rifles and archery equipment in protective storage cases with foam padding. Anything that had rubber armored coating on it. Like scopes and the bow riser and limbs on the bow. Become sticky. I have some silver eagles that are turning black from the black foam ring.

    • @CyberCurtainTwitcher
      @CyberCurtainTwitcher  2 місяці тому

      Interesting, my friend. I must say that i have other objects like a spotter scope and binoculars that the rubber on them has broken down and become sticky. Both of those are kept in fabric cases out of the sun, so that must just be an age thing.

    I have some of the 1/2oz gold Britannias in the original mint sealed package like you. I plan to leave mine in there because then it will be less exposed to foreign elements. I do not use the foam ringed capsules. I could potentially see that foam residue sticking to the coins as well.

    Yeah. I like half ounces as well. We're just on the leading edge. Conventional thinking is based on a pricing model for gold which is rapidly disappearing on the rear view mirror. That said, it might blow past half onces. Anyway back to the pluses. Quarters are so tiny, both in design and heft in hand. That said I have quite a few quarters, precisely because they will sell and the premium you'll probably recoup when that time comes, if it's a desirable series I'm a bit off tenths, with the exception of lunars. Didn't even get this year's kook because I don't want to nickel and dime the budget away on non core series. But of a ramble without the usual focus, sorry. All the best.

    • @CyberCurtainTwitcher
      @CyberCurtainTwitcher  2 місяці тому +1

      I think at one point i had over 3oz in 1/10th coins. I sold high then bought back larger coins on the dip with the proceeds. Mostly 1/4oz size. The premiums on the 1/10 th are just too high for my liking, but did get a few with king Charles on.

    • @dleetr
      @dleetr 2 місяці тому +1

      @CyberCurtainTwitcher here there's a major dealer that sells tenth Brits at close to quarter premiums. Their quarter Brits are priced around what everything else costs. Ive thought about stacking a tube before over time. But bugger it

    Hi Cyber, most of my gold coins are in black ring airtites and I haven't seen any reactions or deterioration of the rings. Is it possible that your problem ring comes from a different company? I have a few capsules with rings that I don't use that are not airtites. I got them from work. If your rings are from airtite then we have a problem. Meantime, you have a beautiful run of half ounce Britannias. I haven't seen mint sealed Britannias here. I wish they all were, it might resolve some condition problems that RM bullion coins have.

    • @CyberCurtainTwitcher
      @CyberCurtainTwitcher  2 місяці тому +1

      We can't seem to get airtites here and most of my capsules are probably "Lighthouse or Leuchtturm ". I think that particular one was an airtite though as the edges were smooth rather than lipped. I'm not sure what was in it though as my 1/10th was too big for it.
      I must say I do find it odd how some companies (like Perth Mint) send their coins out in capsules and others don't. It all seems a bit random. For example, sovereigns bought direct from the Royal Mint all seem to come in screw down capsules but if you buy them from a dealer, they do not.
