    The Grand Prismatic Spring of Yellowstone!! It is a hot spring that reaches an approximate temperature of 160°F! Given that Yellowstone lies above a volcanic caldera, much of the bedrock beneath changes into magma. In that process, it creates heat, which will then produce the steamed water. The intense blue color comes from scattered sunlight hitting upon the fine particles.
    The yellow, orange, and brown comes come thermophiles, which refer to heat loving microorganisms. They can include Phormidium and Synechococcus that line among the channels of the spring itself!
