that very beginning with the fossil mission reminds me a LOT of the rom hack where you play as Team Rocket, it basically plays out the exact same way
Yeah, it's literally beat for beat I think. Also, the map layout is suspiciously similar to Mt. Moon.

My favorite part in this game was when team rocket went to Mt.Moon to get fossils when some random kid comes and beats him then takes the fossils for himself then he has to tell Giovanni about it........Sure love Fire Red Rocket Edition

Wow! What a breath of fresh air for a Pokémon game! Getting to experience being in a regional team spins up the narrative in a fun way!
Pokeballs don't actually work on humans as demonstrated in the let's go games, aka green pegging like 8 pokeballs at you and failing
Also in Legends Arceus, Laventon says that all Pokémon have the natural ability to shrink (you could say down to pocket size and that’s how they came up with the name Pokémon in-universe), and Poké Balls are just making that ability activate & pulling them inside the ball. Because of that, Poké Balls can only ever work on Pokémon. Not humans, and not creatures that aren’t Pokémon (which probably aren’t a thing, but they are implied to exist sometimes, including in Scarlet/Violet).
@DaSheepKiller I honestly don't like the quote, personal preference but I perfer to think of acorns having the special abilities as acorns where used in the past the same as pokeballs
@@jadynworld2428 well Poké Balls have always been made from Apricorns, so there probably is something special about them, whether you accept the official statement about Pokémon shrinking or not.

Yeah, I thought so too and I really like that rom hack the beginning portion was just team rocket edition 2.0 until later in the story, they started going away from it

Played this last year and really enjoyed it! Was a slow start but started to get really interesting towards the end of the beta and im looking forward for more updates

Haven’t even watched the video yet, and I can already tell you, this ain’t the darkest Pokémon game. The darkest Pokémon game award probably goes to Pokémon Reborn, which is one of the best Pokémon games ever made. Personally, I think it’s the best.
Was exactly my thoughts.. I mean even before you actually play reborn first thing you see happening is the train ur in getting blown up with a bomb.. and the first city is ghetto af
But Reborn can get a bit edgy with it's characters. But I do enjoy the difficulty.

Something I really appreciate about this game is the attempt to weave the stories of all the games/regions together. It’s something I wish the main series did more. A little continuity in Pokemon would go a long way.
