  • The Source Audio Collider might just be the perfect combination of features and sound-quality for addition to a synth-based rig. Stay tuned for some interesting applications in future videos. It really adds a lot of character to a simple Prophet Rev2 pad sound, as shown in this video.
    1. Discussion is encouraged, but please stay on-topic: If the video is about a particular feature of a device ... discuss that feature, not some other feature you don't like. Off-topic posts may be deleted without notice or recourse, at my sole discretion.
    2. Critical, thoughtful commentary is also encouraged. It doesn't have to be all "happy talk" Bickering and overtly hostile posting will be dealt with quickly ... the delete button and ban-hammer are used when necessary.
    3. This is an amateur effort. Keep that in mind. Comments about how I should have done something differently are not helpful. If you want to show me how to do it better, please link to YOUR videos where you do so.

    Very inspiring review! Thank you. One of the few where all the talking does not annoy me, thanks also to your pleasant voice.

    Your demo made me buy this pedal. It works great with the Behringer Poly-D.

    "Stereoize" (aka Ping-pong delay). Nice hold function too. Great demo, I like this sounds very nice indeed. Wow, the "E-dome" sound is very cool. Thanks for sharing!

    Great video, I've been looking for a reverb pedal for my Rev2 and was looking at the Strymon pedals, but this one looks pretty cool.

    Great, consice explanation! You've helped me decide to get this over the specular tempus. I don't like too much menu diving is one of the reasons. Also I liked the look of the Ventris but I didn't really want to drop 500 euros on a pedal!

    Very usefull and explanatory intro that helps understanding the review approach. Maybe you can help me out with a remaining question: Can I connect two different synths and use delay on one (the left input and output), and reverb on the other (the right input and output) with full seperation of the effect? In other words does this collider truely provide two effect pedals in one?

    Great review! Makes me want this pedal so badly! I imagine that you can configure it to have two reverbs and use the freeze of one reverb and still have the other reverb to keep some reverb for the instrument, right?

    Thinking of getting this pedal. Is there a way to make the delay not ping pong while keeping the reverb stereo?

    The ability to use any option, delay or reverb, on both “sides” of the pedal is huge. How is that not being screamed from the mountain tops in the overviews of this pedal? Thanks for highlighting as that probably just sold this pedal.

      It really is freekin' great. You can even stack a "shimmer" on top of another one ... ooooooooh. ;-)

    Sorry im trying to wrap my head around using external fx with the rev2. Is there any possibility to change presets via midi i.e. when changing Programms on the rev 2? If not is there a practical solution to change presets alongside changing patches on the rev2?

    • @ZTAudio
      @ZTAudio  2 роки тому

      Yep, you can change programs via MIDI Program Change messages. You can line up your Rev2 patches w/Collider patches pretty easily.

    Something I've been wondering about these pedals/ the dual reverb pedals is can you run two completely separate mono inputs/outputs through the pedal? Say I wanted a reverb on one synth and a delay on another, but didn't want them to interact, can I separate both out like that?

    • @ZTAudio
      @ZTAudio  3 роки тому

      That would not be possible with the Collider, as far as I know. That kind of thing IS possible with TC Electronics' "Pleathora x5" ... I'll likely do a review of that once I have worked with it a bit more.

      It looks like this is possible with a split stereo mode as described on pg 29 of the manual: delay on I/O channel 1, reverb on I/O channel 2.

    Can anyone tell me, I want to use this with a Synthesizer and it will be on my desk. Is there a way you can hold/freeze the reverb without having to have a finger or foot pressed on the reverb switch? That’s because I’ll want to freeze reverb then have both hands free to play keys.....

    • @ZTAudio
      @ZTAudio  4 роки тому

      David Walker how do you propose to activate the freeze feature, if not by pushing a button or switch?

      ZT Audio I guess one could use a gesture-based MIDI controller (such as Source Audio’s Hot Hand or another ring controller) sending out the relevant CC. Thanks for the video. I should be getting a Collider in the coming days/weeks.

      @@emilianoibarra3537 You are limited to the delay and reverb types it ships with ... but that's not much of a limitation. There are hundreds of presets on the Source Audio site.
