The books Rainbow presents The letter by Gaurishankar Joshi . Gaurishankar Joshi is also known by the name of Dhumaketu.
Here in this video English story by Dhumaketu "The letter " is presented in hindi.
In this story " The Letter" we see an Old man Coachman Ali desperately waiting for a letter from his daughter Miriyam.
For receiving the letter he travels to Post Office daily for five years. The Post Office officials calls him mad and make fun of him. But he kept his hope and kept on his daily routine of going to Post Office.
The postmaster also knew him and asks from the people working in post office who in turn tells him that the old Coachman Ali is an insane type of man who travels to post office very early in the morning in a hope to get the letter from him daughter Miriyam. Later we see in this story that postmaster too goes through the same situation.
Coachman Ali gives five guineas to the clerk Lakshmi das and asks him to deliver his daughter's letter to his grave if he receives his daughter's letter.
Finally one day "The Letter" comes from his daughter which is recognised by the postmaster. He calls Lakshmi das and tells him about "The Letter". Lakshmi das informs him that Coachman Ali is no more now in this world.
Finally, Lakshmi das and Postmaster go to the grave of Coachman Ali to deliver "The Letter".

Actually , the content of the letter is not that much significant rather the father's love for his daughter appears to be more significant here....
Because father was not expecting anything extraordinary in the letter but only his daughters well being....Hence ,the letter itself carries that significance....🌹🌹

So, he felt the same for Ali... So, you can say it was the illusion of postmaster ... because the officials of post office had the habit of seeing Ali at early morning at post office .
