I'm originally from the Detroit area (Dearborn Heights), lived in AZ since 1970. We had a total eclipse when I was 6, and that was the first one I saw. My mom took a picture of it, but the eclipsed sun is very small in the picture, but it's still pretty. My second one was on March 7, 1970, 3rd was 1979 in Helena, MT, 4th was Casper, WY in 2017, and the 5th April 8, 2024. I doubt I'll ever see another one, but who knows. 2044 really isn't that far away. (Jan Griffiths).

It's fascinating because this is a rare scientific marvel of the universe. For 99% of us, our feet will never leave this planet to explore the vastness of our cosmic sky. The way the sky darkened almost like an overhead bulb slowly being dimmed until totality. The change in air temperature. The silence that casted itself over the world. Being given the ability to see the sun's Corona which is almost always visually invisible due to the sun's intensity. This eclipse helped scientists study our sun and learn more about what's around us, it's composing elements, and maybe even proving certain theories. It was an amazing experience, I wish I could relive it again and again.
If you haven't seen totality, you definitely don't understand. Once you've seen totality, you know why people rave about it. It's unlike anything you've ever seen before. Whatever you expect it to be, it's nothing like that. It's more amazing than you could imagine.
