Dear Madam, Thanks for your valuable time and effort.
In my humble opinion, it would be more befitting to say "Alternate method" rather than calling the second method as "Shortcut Method".
Also, it would have been nice to see the value of coefficient calculated by both method for the same example series; it would have been nice to see if the values generated are congruent.
I understand this is primarily for academic purposes, so having those numbers calculated on paper might be more relevant, but if you feel the necessity for saving your valuable time and effort, you could also use Microsoft Excel.
Once again, I thank your excellent contribution to the community at large, I believe a student would only benefit only when the student is ready. I don't recollect if I truly learnt anything with such clarity during my college days, perhaps I was not ready then or perhaps our batch would have benefitted having you as one of our lecturers.
