I believe this song was very meaningful for Chalice especially after coming out. She has finally Let Go of everything that kept her from being her true self. And towards the latter part of the song, she was really trying to hold the tears back that made the performance a little shaky but still very good. Thank you for reacting to her version of Let It Go!

She struggled. She really did, it might be the transition to her coming out but at the end of the day it was her worse performance I've seen her in. A quality most entertainers have is being always on top of their emotions and not let it affect the performance.
The moment she sang the part "IM FREE." WOW. i dont like her but when i saw her singing that part, i almost cried.

Can you guys do Lea Salonga reactions? She was that woman on the audience. She was the original Kim in Miss Saigon on Broadway. She also played Eponine and Fantine in Les Mis, also on Broadway. And on btw, she was also the singing voice of Princess Jasmine from Alladin and Mulan.
You can react to her usual broadway stuff like "On My Own," and "I Dreamed a Dream," and "A Little Fall of Rain," from Les Mis.

unbeatable! Why is it that i become teary eyed everytime i listen and watch her singing. Oh... they say because she has the "it".
I honestly felt the emotion on this version, she struggled, yes, but charice made it her own. It felt like this was her going out song like letting things just go. Morisette's version is the disney arrangement and she sung it like how it is supposed to be sung. Charice's version has a different approach which is channeled most thru the emotions that she can give.
Im glad Charice sang this.. all mighty finger aside, the song has a huge meaning to her letting go....

This performance of Charice is very emotional. The Lyrics says it all. "That perfect girl is gone" with pointing finger is so much mean to him. This is one of my favorite version of Let it Go. Jake Zyrus give us a flavor of emotion. Charice is Charice. Jake is Jake. Still they both slay in stage.

You clearly are a Regine fanatic. We don't know of her nor relate to her here in the western world (as the reactors are from too.) We know of and relate to Charice and Morissette. Thank goodness both are young and still has the future ahead of them - though more hopeful for Morissette's.
I'm so glad you guys love Charice. Ever since she exploded internationally around 2008, she inspired me to sing. She has been the most powerful singer with high notes and belting power, next to Regine Velasquez. I'd always search the internet for new songs from her. There was a point in time however when that power disappeared. I feel maybe she got lost in her path. I was kind of heart broken. Maybe it was because she damaged her vocals from the way she uses it? She disappeared from the radar for a couple years. It wasn't until a couple years ago, however, when I heard her sing this exact song (in another setting) and she was BELTING AGAIN! As a huge fan, I teared up when it came back. I'm so glad she's better now.
she has another version of this song as well with her gf Alyssa but their singing it on karaoke.they were beast there.😁

The one that giggle in the back ground is Lea Salonga (the original Kim of Miss Saigon) also has been part of your childhood for being the singing voice of 2 disney princesses (awarded as Disney Legend on 2011)... Also a Tony award winning actress and Les miserables Eponine and Fantine.
She poured everything in that performance. Made me emotional. Perfecto! :)
shes savouring the song becuase it's like " a coming out song". look at how shes feeling it when she sang the line "i'm free". hehehe
she struggled on that performance because that's her first performance after she came out as lesbian publicly and of course, the words to the song fits her situation that time. she was bashed and crushed and struggled. hence, she never sang the right words, "and it looks like i'm a Queen" but instead, "and it feels like i can't breathe". plus see the way she smiled when she sang, "I am Free". her emotions that time affected her performance because she bottling up a lot of emotions at that time. that's why at the end of the performance, despite the struggle she had while singing the audience stood up and gave her the courtesy and respect and love and support. :)))
p.s. that's Lea Salonga that the camera man focused on who was cheering.

MGN doesn't know that that song was so significant for Charice's personal life. Because she just recently in past years opened herself as a proud lesbian. :) She's so strong and courageous at that point and I admire her so much. That will explain her boy look, her short hair, and her suit clothing. I also noticed her voice changed from that sweet and belting voice to a more matured and deep voice, maybe due to her personal coming out that she might did some alterations in her voice too. She did let it go really.
That was our very own Ms Leah Salonga, Miss Saigon, who sang A whole new world and some Disney songs as well, right there flashed quickly having Ovela saying she is gorgeous.
this was her first performance of belting a song after years of not performing those kind of songs (when she came out she refused to belt again). She even tweeted after that performance thanking her fans eventhough she knows it was not perfect. So aptly sung by Charice. You'd feel it when she said I am free. So happy for her for coming out and being true to herself in spite of what society expects her to be.

This is after she changed her genre for years then, she was asked to sing a belting song such as this. Now she's back to singing like before. I mean, she's maintaining her vocal range now.

I feel like she/he is so emotional in this performance because she relates to the song so much. "The perfect girl is gone" She came out as Tomboy or Lesbian I'm not sure. She/He LET IT GO!! Regine was not enjoying because she was mourning over her father's death. She is sleepless and restless the whole week before that concert. She cried while singing a dedication song to her father right before she sang Let it Go .
His version of Let It Go here was the high notes version its very hard to sing it can make u cry..he did it even he feel nervous as he confess coz its his first time to sing again in ASAP when she came out as a Lesbian..but still shes great a singer and makes us goosebumps!! Everytime sings that others doesnt..

It just happens that: First, Regine is already old, 2nd her father died before her Let it Go perf and 3rd, she's battling GERD. In spite of these 3 issues Regine still cemented a great performance.

I believe Charice does not practice belting anymore. If you have observed, the way she sang this song, it's more of throaty when hitting those high notes, rather than using her chest voice. But as you say, it's ok. And yes, she came out years ago, I think that was after xfactor philippines. And the girl focused by the camera who was in the audience, is our very own, Ms. Lea Salonga, the singing voice behind Jasmine from Alladin, and Mulan, and the first Filipina to have been included in Miss Saigon and Les Miserable in West End and Broadway. You should do a reaction on her. :)

In her defense, she hadn't sung powerful songs like this in a while. She'd taken a break for a few years because of the struggles she was having with her identity and sexuality. She was also disowned by her mother and she felt really alone. And after she did come out she stuck to songs that weren't vocally challenging. Let it Go is the first song in a while that required her strong vocals. Nonetheless I understand where you guys are coming from. :)

Any of the singers you've mentioned has their own time to show their talent. From the time of Regine in the 80's was Barbara Streisand; on the 20's Charice was Celine Dion n Whitney Houston; Sarah n Morisette was Mariah Carey n Beyonce era. So these filipina singers idolized a specific great female singers abroad with their own style, technique, n unique in reaching the highest note n tune in singing. All are great. And beside there r other filipina singers on this generation who have a high tune n can whistle too. In conclusion its a WHISTLE era of competition.
