1:43 the way her eyes and face lights up is probably the most wholesome thing ever and then at 1:53 when his friends realize it’s him they look so proud and happy for him. 10 seconds in a movie can make it without hardly uttering a word.
Fantastic movie that was panned by the critics, of course. A heart warming film about making the best of a bad situation. Also but a father growing up despite all his wishes not to
In case anyone is wondering 😂: it’s from the movie Jersey girl. It’s set in New Jersey (obviously lol) so they had to do a bit from a musical for school. Like pretty much everyone did cats but Gerti (the little girl) had gotten in a fight with her dad and basically she wouldn’t forgive him unless he let her do Sweeney Todd (he didn’t want her to) and basically this ended up happening. It’s so freaking funny because nobody clapped for them and everyone was silent because it’s kinda inappropriate for children 😂😂
Hey It’s Sarah he actually let her do Sweeney Todd as part of his plea deal with her after she caught him and the video store girl in the shower lol close enough though (just saw the movie today for the first time and was fascinated by liv Tyler’s role in the Sweeney Todd play role where she sung with that accent. She would have been great on broadway herself)
She wanted to do Sweeney Todd for the play and her dad wouldn't let her until she caught him and Liv (the video store girl) in the shower together and that was part of the deal she made with him so she wouldn't tell his dad, Pops (George Carlin) but his dad and 2 friends walked in the front door and seen them sitting on the couch in their towels lol 😂, talking to Gerti, right after she made that deal with her dad so he found out anyway. This is a great movie! It has all the elements a movie should have....funny, sad, romance, losing love and finding love for a second time. Highly recommended for the family to watch. 🙏🙌🤗💙♥️
Love this movie! It's funny, sad, romantic and beautiful. It has a great cast and the late, great George Carlin is hilarious, as usual! Well worth watching! 🙏🙌🤗♥️
Truly nothing more Family Friendly and Wholesome than a Musical all about Serial Killers, Cannibalism, Rape, Pedophilia and Grooming, False Arrest and Imprisonment, Corruption, Abuse of Power, Prostitution, Insanity, Child Abuse, Gaslighting, Suicide, Mental Hospitals, Drunk Children, Homelessness, Eating Cats, Unsanitary Eateries, and the overall Self Destructive and Pointless pursuit of Revenge ❤
A bit but considering this was a family event and the fact that they didn't do anything unappropriated with each other, I think it was ok for them play the parts they did. The woman playing Toby was 26.
@@LilyZerep In the movie, Sweeney is played by the girl's father (almost didn't get to do it because of conflicts, and his girlfriend was Toby. Two buddies of his played the customers, and the grandfather, who evidently was a stage veteran, played the victim. The situation was, all the other kids in the school talent show did bits from Annie, and that's why the little girl decided to do Sweeney Todd instead. Too bad they left out the part with the parents in the audience thoroughly shocked, and the poor teacher in charge fainting, as Ben Affleck mouths "Shit".
Any idea who was dubbing Liv in the intro to the song? It was clearly Liv singing from "Here you'll sample Mrs. Lovett's Meat Pies" onward, but before that, the singer actually had a great voice. Just asking for a friend. LOL.

Literally everyone else did cats and they did this beauty ugh I love it
Thought it was Annie, never saw the movie I confess
@@trinitymplayers LOL It's Jersey Girl. Probably the best acting Ben Afleck has done his entire career.
I’m glad she did Sweeney Todd instead of Cats
Besides, Sweeney Todd was a better movie adaptation than Cats!
@@trinitymplayers it doesn't even look like Annie at all💀

The look on little Gerties face when she sees her dad has surprised her.... priceless. Every father with a little daughter knows what I mean.
Imagine if someone in the audience had seen the serenity todd musical and was sitting their just waiting for the throat slitting scene.
had to cast a 6 year old as Mrs lovette
My favorite part of the movie
Say what you will about Ben Affleck and Kevin Smith, but this is one of the most romantic things I have ever seen.
But Affleck was the bomb in Phantoms...XD
And that's the true story of how George Carlin died.
It's probably how he would have wanted to go out.
Wonderful scene! Ben Affleck you're soo good in this! And the kid is priceles, when she looks at her dad... Great !!!!!!
Fantastic movie that was panned by the critics, of course. A heart warming film about making the best of a bad situation. Also but a father growing up despite all his wishes not to
I think it was panned because Gigli (the OTHER bennifer movie released that year) was a bomb.
@@thehutch7728 so panned for being guilty by association? yea sounds like the very early 2000s

They did clap. Shortly after the silence, they get a standing ovation.
Wrong, they didn't fight. He was caught in the shower with Liv Tyler. She got free rentals from the movie store for life and Sweeny Todd
@@George-qw8ss What I would do to get a shower with Liv Tyler.

The audience (non) reaction is the best part, though.
Whether she's an elf or a waiter, Liv Tyler is a 10!
EnemyAce88 yes, she is a 10 always, even now.
She’s amazing
Oh yes
George Carlin was in Sweeney Todd. Wrap your head on that for a moment!
My fav scene of the film
I Lovett
I see what you did there

I love this movie as well
Best performance of Mrs. Lovette. Kevin Smith is a amazing writer and director.
This is one of the most iconic movie scenes ever filmed! It’s literal art! I wish it was real and I was in the audience!!!!!!
Liv Tyler's acting of an amateur actor was great
I don't know whether I'm laughing or crying
This, of course, fits perfectly with Kevin Smith's running gag that Tim Burton copies his work.
Looked up jersey girl and found this. I'm confused but satisfied.
The restaurant scene in this film was filmed at the Berlin Diner in Berlin NJ (my hometown).
Betty Aberline, the teacher. Hands down best actress EVER
Betty is the reason I have watched Jersey Girl
"Will you trust me! Will you trust me!!?"
One uncle is loving stage life 😂
I love this movie

this was gold🥺
This may be the best Kevin Smith scene,so far
This is messed up Sweeney is at least 30 and Mrs Lovett is 6 and Toby is like a sixteen year old girl.

good film
She was so cute at 10
I thought Sweeney Todd was too mature for elementary school kids
Sweeney Todd is too mature for Kevin Smith.
Dante wasn't even supposed to be there that day!
He was supposed to be at the Cheese Haus and then he was going to take in an opera.
Cute
i fucking cried when i saw this part
Is this a movie??? I must see it!
