The artist of Autumnal Meganium here-- Thank you so much for the feature! I absolutely love what you did with the design! When I was originally designing this Meganium for my New England inspired region, the wisps were a bit of an afterthought, so it was super cool seeing how you brought them to the forefront of the design. That's something I would have never considered, and it was super creative! I think my design fits in best at a harvest festival, a pumpkin patch, or a corn maze, whereas yours fits in more with the creepy mystical aspects of Halloween, and would probably be at home in a forest in the middle of the night. But despite that, mine looks more sinister where yours looks more friendly. Love how such similar designs give off two entirely opposite vibes! If any future contests are ever in the works, you bet I'm gonna jump at the chance to participate! :D
Your version immediate reminded me of a cool take on the headless horseman, I was slightly disappointed with the redesign 😅 but reading your description definitely changed my view 👍

Amazing job with this video!! The Sandygast, Spiritomb and Horrifly are my favorites but you did such a great job with all of them. The chef’s kiss was putting them all together in that final frame that was brilliant, I’m very excited to see this become a staple for the channel every season.
I’m making a Pokémon region called Fallnera and in the lore it was cursed a long time ago so now it’s always autumn. These designs are so perfect for the region I might use some (with credit ofc)
That spiritomb having a liquid fiery witch coming out of it would be so cool thinking about it, hinting at a witch rising out of the water she drowned in, maybe the most powerful soul taking over out of hatred!
This is a great video, I love how you respect each design and have your own designs essentially expand on and make them fit stylistically to Pokémon. Many artists have trouble with that and do their best but having someone like you provide feedback and reasoning for your design decisions is so helpful for artists of any level.

I'm currently working on making a New England based Pokemon region, so I have a good number of autumn and Halloween themed Pokemon who inhabit it. For example, my early route bird's a Grass/Flying wild turkey whose feathers resemble autumn foliage. I also made a male counterpart for Gothitelle named Gothicount who's based on men's Gothic fashion and adds in some vampiric elements to his design.
That was semi intentional! I tried to create something similar to Applin, a hybrid between a reptilian/draconian and insectoid Pokémon. A lizard-mite, almost.
As an artist, I have to say the one thing I do not like at all that you take pride in, if your going to take out elements of the original drawing instead of translating them, you should make 2 versions instead of just replacing your own like your whiting out the original creators, transformative creativity is great, but removing almost all of what made the desighn unique in the original, comes across as a knock off or barley tied to it, which was the whole purpose, it is not hard to do the desighn you want to do, then make a copy and edit that desighn transfering over all elements of the original, that way you und up with the remake glow up artists want to see of there fakemon and you get a regional variant as your desighn, it's a win win and I think because of how easy it is to do this, not doing it and taking somone else's desighn and ripping apart Anything you decide to.. is a dis service to the artist, just do both it's a simple fix and that way you don't run the risk of any art being called out for completley throwing away the original base and deciding you just saw a crocodile or wolf then did your own, were not watching a video about people sending in there fakemon fan art to not see a glow up of there fakemon, but see a completley different fakemon you desighned, were watching the video to see how the elements they desighned translate when they get the glow up, that should be the entire point.

You rounded Scheline’s eye mouth too much, idk it’s hard to tell when it’s closed but the original art did the mouth very well
