This video could have come in handy about a month ago. I just had a whole debacle about getting loudness right.
Better late then never I guess! Great video!

Thanks Colin. This actually reminded me to use the hard limiter in Premiere Pro.

Where have you been all of last year!!!! This just saved me so much stress. What is the plug in you used? And how can I get it?

Hi Colin - Great video. Does this plugin run as a stand alone app with the ability to import a video into it to quickly analyze the levels? Some plugins do that and let you import a video or audio-only file and give you the stats in a couple seconds, kind of like the "analyze" tool in DaVinci Resolve Fairlight if you've used that. Handy if the project is very long, and you need the results quickly.

great information -- does the audio normalization tab on the export options in Premiere Pro adjust the LUF levels accurately for you? There's several options, including the -14 for you tube on the export tab menu under the "effects" toggle switch - is this the same thing as what you were manually doing with the gain or doing with the plug in?

How to intall the plugin on Adobe Premiere? I installed the Waves Central and the software with the license, but it doesn't appear on Premiere Pro. Tks!

You may need to go to "Edit - Preferences - Audio", open "Manage Audio Plug-Ins..." and click "Scan for Plug-Ins". That should scan your PC for plugins and give you the option to add them. As a heads up and if anyone has a fix I'd love to hear it, plugins are usable in Premiere but I have to bounce and re-import anything with a 3rd party audio plugin, otherwise it slows the software down tremendously to a near unworkable place. Haven't been able to find a fix for years now.

This is a little confusing since the PP reading the background by your timeliness is still going from 0 to -6 while it plays while the plugin saying -14.

Is there a way to automatically mix/crossfade two background music tracks in PP? I am having a hard time with it 😔

Click inbetween the cuts and when the line is red (selected) Cntr + shift + D... is that what you mean?

Welp... it would've been great to know that Waves is NOT compatible for Adobe Premier Pro V24. I just WASTED my money!!
