So glad she was able to join y'all. I'm glad she has everything she needs to be ok Living in a car is challenging - I did it for a few years - so hopefully she'll be able to go a little bigger later on. Regardless, whatever she does, she's living a life of adventure and I'm happy for her.
But she needs a Prius for that charging system to work.
The Prius is ideal for full-time living for one big reason: Climate control. Run the A/C all night when the weather is hot, run the heater all night when the temperature is cold. The gas engine turns on and charges the battery when the battery gets low, so you sleep comfortable. It is worth the cost in fuel, less than $2 per night to sleep comfortably. The next best thing about the Prius is it is the most stealth vehicle you can buy. Park anywhere after dark, leave early in the morning. Workout, shower, swim laps and other amenities are available with a $25 per month gym membership nationwide. Life is easy, we make it hard.
That’s the main reason it works so well for me. The 35-45 mpg is the cherry on top. 🥰🙌🏼
Every time I see these Prius tours, I want one! Seriously, these cars are a perfect little generator that can take care of every need a person needs to eat, keep warm, and cool off on the road. And they keep nice ladies' rulings the roads😉. Watching out for each other, doing caravans, camping for weeks, planning where to go next, meeting new friends, must be a wonderful way to spend retirements. Go go, golden girls👏 !

@ButterflyTracks My wish in the not too far off future is to caravan with the Butterfly Tracks. I'm planning a major move soon and need all my faculties and resources to make it happen. But once I'm all settled, I'll be free to go✅️. What y'all are doing is something I have a feeling is going to last for a while😉!

When I need to use the microwave I go to the Bluetti’s app and switch between the AC and DC currents. Just to prevent overloading it.

when I had to live in my Prius, it was probably one of the more spacious cars than what I saw bc I could fit everything comfortably on the floor or in the trunk and the front seat leans alll the way back where you can comfortably lay down and sleep if you dont wanna sleep on the flat bed in the trunk.

The prius is a great vehicle, wish they made a van like the prius. Unfortunately I couldn't handle a vehicle that small to live in, I'm too claustrophobic.

Do they all park in camp sites at night? Or just on the street somewhere? I’ve just found your channel and now I’m binge watching the videos. I’m at a crossroads following a marriage breakup and this lifestyle is extremely appealing!!!
Sometimes a campsite, Love's or FlyingJ travel centers, Cracker Barrel, or places we find on iOverlander. I highly recommend that app and look for recent reviews. I have several videos on cheap and free overnight spots.

Love this! How does the Prius get charged and have the capacity for temperature control 24 hours a day?
I leave the car running all night long. It cycles between the hybrid battery and the gas engine. The gas engine runs 30-90 seconds every 20-30 minutes to charge the vehicle’s hybrid battery. Then it’s silent while the hybrid battery is running the vehicle (AC or heat) and keeping the power station fully charged. It’s phenomenal!😊
So she is living in it full time since January? Has storage locker?
Yes, I still have a storage unit with prized possessions. However, everything I need for my travels is within the Prius.

Where does she keep the butane stove?
The butane stove lives in the passenger side foot well right next to the power station.
Why don't you buy a van or at least mini-van for generous space.
I may do that eventually. IF I find one that has the ability for climate control. That’s a game changer! It’s what I hear others complain most about.
She chooses better mileage, climate control all night, and a power source. It's her bedroom, not her living room. 😊👍
Most newer hybrids won't stay on all night for climate control, but older Prius are considered very reliable. 😊

But with the Planet Fitness black card, it's not as if you can keep going to any old PF all month. No, you have a base Planet Fitness, and only 10 times a month can you go to a different PF. I switched to Humana instead of Medicare so I can take advantage of Silver Sneakers. That way I get free gym memberships and can take showers everywhere. Yes it's a bit of a hassle getting signed up per gym, but it's free and not limiting like the PF black card.
Leaving the rat race and stop running after the governments cheese, is life changing...

Awesome how much Dana was able to comfortable fit into her vehicle , I use to do that with my Ford Focus , What a great set up right down to the cooker toilet comfy bed and so on I love this. great idea with the garage onto. Interesting to hear that older women make up a good portion of those doing this True if you feel unsafe just leave , Yup makes sense to me thank you Dana. The stove lives right next to the power station in the foot well of the passenger seat. Coats go to “the attic” when not needed.

I don't stay in hot weather. You can see on my channel that I travel a lot. Partly to see all the beautiful places while I still can. And also to find the best weather. I'm at 6,863 ft elevation and the low tonight will be 38. 👍

I love the idea of car camping, and the wonderful community of women. My concern is car maintenance: wouldn't you have to empty your car before you leave it at the shop be serviced?!? I wouldn't leave all MY stuff in my camper!! I've never seen this issue addressed.
I've never seen it addressed either. Maybe a storage unit. Probably be a good time to clean and reorganize after service.
Thankfully, I’ve only needed oil changes and minor repairs that I can just wait at most a couple of hours. Blessed that the Prius is such a reliable vehicle.
