Do you think that you can develop the strength for this by practicing or should you already have good core strength before starting? I've been losing weight for a year with the end goal of getting a Cyr Wheel and practicing with it. I still have about a year to go. I'm just wondering what are the most beneficial things to work on physically that will translate over to improving at the Cyr Wheel..
You can definitely get started and build up the strength as you go. There's a bit a of a learning curve when you start learning the waltz, and by the time you get there your shoulders will have grown accustomed to the work and you'll start working other muscle groups as you get more comfortable. Just make sure to stretch and warm up each time!
