I had the pleasure of spending 2 days with Mr. Akshay Hada & Mallyka exploring and discovering the Shekhawati region of Rajasthan. I spent one night at her ancestral home, Dundlod Castle, where I was lucky enough to meet other members of her family. It was a real home away from home. A visit to their lovely horse stables with around 60 Marwari horses was a lovely experience, and a dream for any horse rider. The village of Dundlod is a little hidden gem, with a beautifully restored haveli just 5 minutes from the castle. The second day we traveled a little further to the village of Churi Ajitgarh, @vivaanaculturehotel which was so lovely - we wandered along the narrow streets visiting abandoned havelis with remarkably well preserved frescoes. However the highlight for me was Bonding with horses Sessionand meeting the local farmers, Real local interactions, and all made more special with Mallyka's infectious enthusiasm and it's quite clear the passion that she has for preserving the Shekhawati culture. Highly recommended.
