We as working parents were very fortunate to get a lady who used to look after my daughter with care, love and devotion. She never used to take meal without feeding my daughter. She got shifted to some other city but always used to wish her on her birthdays and reminded us to vaccinate her from time to time (till the age of 10 years) We are grateful to her.

I made a career shift after I had my child.I was never convinced of keeping my own kid with a caretaker or daycare centre no matter how trustworthy they seem to be.I am self employed,I work from home and able to look at my child 24/7.There should be at least one responsible person in the family at home to take care of your own child because nothing is worth more than your little and priceless bundle of joy.

Very important issue. Not only for children but senior citizens too. What I mean is - older parents too don't tell us if caretakers are misbehaving with them. After trying with few caretakers to look after my father, I finally had to give up my job to be there for my father.
Difficult decision and financial implications too but then parents sacrifice so much more for us.
No regrets for my decision. I am lucky that my brother is taking care of major finances and I am trying out different things that I can do from home. Let's see what happens 😀
But one thing for sure - now I may not be able to trust any caretaker; some are good but rarely so!

A very eye opening video for working couples with young children or elderly parents.
Babies and elderlies are vulnerable and both need TLC.
The reason my husband and I worked different shifts, so we didn't have to hire a baby sitter. I was aftaid to trust anyone with my children.
Many parents doesn't have those opportunity to work different shifts, so they really need to verify the credentials of these caregivers. My friend is with elderly parents and suffer a lot. She was in the office one day, and saw on CC tv footage that the home health aide took her mom out with slippers and a thin blanked wrapped around her on a freezing cold day to the supermarket despite of my friend telling her not to take her mum out. The aide, turned her phone off so my friend couldn't contact her and scold her.
My friends mom caught pneumonia. She's 92 years old.
Such things are always happening. It makes me think it was better when we all lived in joint families truth be told.
    Loved the video.

WFH was / is a facility given to only private company people... Think about those employees working in government sector who didn't even have a single day WFH in full pandemic... How they managed with their little ones when no daycare was working as per ministry guidelines and seniors were not permitting to bring their kids to bring to workplace.... Life is not easy.... Need is to be empathetic...

@@nurseryrhymesnmore... Sabbaticals as far as I know is unpaid and not everyone has options of parents due to their health condition.

Sabbatical is not allowed in many jobs and parents in pandemic have to travel in pandemic to reach you which obviously nobody wants as they are age old...

Leave it... This discussion is endless.. Life tak always show those families who have option of WFH.. they never thought about issues of working young ladies in government sector who have small kids and since they are in transferable job, they can't stay with their in laws or parents...some how they manage with daycare and when pandemic hit, all schools and daycare stopped but office didn't... Not for small time period, almost 2 years... It's easy to speak but hard to empathize

Verification can only say this person has an aadhaar card and has not been to jail. But cctv camera footage is vital. Do not tell the caretaker that there is a cctv footage. And also keep making surprise visits.

It is better to keep your child or baby in professional daycare they take good care.

I was blessed to have the best nanni ji's for us, I was handed over to my Dad in front of my Granny as they didn't recognized him at my school, neither did they shared her address with him. Hat's off to security levels they maintained. Thank you for this awareness Life tak.

I have never left my kid with any caretaker. Luckily my extended family helped me to continue my work..but if they won't be there I would happily quit the job unless until any proper arrangements were made for the kid. I can't even think trusting on anyone with my kid.

You're absolutely right. And CCTV should also be installed. Some caretakers can sedate the children and can use them for begging too
