Love this type of video!🐐 Id like to see one of you taking the time to graph and find offshore fish on a new lake, walking us through it the whole time. Showing us what areas you take time to idle on and whether you take a zig zag route approach or whatever you do. And whether you take time and focus on one creek the whole time or jump around.
Absolutely man that's a great idea! Many of new places to explore down here in texas too. I could probably make a 5 hour video graphing each creek on Rayburn...."here's a school of catfish....heeeere's a school of white bass...and oh wow! Heeeere's a school of gar!" haha
@@MillikenFishing Ben, I know you are a celebrity and everything now with the recent Open win (CONGRATS, BTW!) 😁... but do you anticipate doing another "FISH WITH BEN!" sweepstakes? Shoot brother, just say the word, and I'll provide an all-expense paid trip for you to come to my home lake and fish with me. PLUS, pay whatever Guide fees you have. 100% DEAD SERIOUS.
Absolutely, hands down, my favorite all-time video of yours......screen shots with explanations followed by lure rotatation explanations. Keep this type of video coming please.
Would love to see a video on your settings for the humminbird. Mine has never looked near as good as that. Been watching you for a while now. I remember when you quit your job and had a year to prove you could do it. Nice to see how far you have came since then.
What a great video. Finally, somebody showing what a school of bass look like on side imaging and forward imaging. Showing what those bass looked like lined up on the bottom was very informative. Please keep this up!
Man I cannot tell you how much I enjoy your content. You are not just a talker your actual do-er 😁. please keep the content coming you have really outdone yourself. Keep making it thank you so much👍🏾
This is exactly why I subscribed to your channel! You provide information and content that no one else provides! All I can say is thank you for sharing, and thank you for having the insight to see what is missing, and what is needed in the fishing community.
Finally. A video where someone sits down an shows what these fish look like more then just 10 seconds. Even though I am very good with my live scope I still need help with my hummingbirds.
Great video and information. I am now completely retired and it is time for me to get back on the water . I am looking at everything and learning the new technology... It is funny though. Back when I had my boat... yes to many years.. decades..ago. People [the old school fishermen lol] would laugh at us with our fancy electronic stuff. It was old Hummingbird radar... and we had a deal you dropped over into the water and it told you the color to use. Water temperature and ph. It was sophisticated stuff lol.. But it actually worked to a point. No matter what it is fun.
I would like to see you walk through the settings of the graph on a lake and actually showing what the fish look like and how to really dial in your unit Love the contact You bet
What's up Ben, Slaw and Mfers! Ben I really appreciate the fact that you take the time to not only show different techniques and tackle you use, but using these 'fish finders'! Because although I have fished for as long as I can remember, I still have some trouble reading those. Keep doing what you do!! 🎣💥👊🏻
Great video, I think you and fish the moment are two of the UA-camrs who are better about showing their electronics screens. I think one of the biggest factors guys leave off with offshore videos is the amount of time idling. That, and finding the juice only to not have it work out. Another factor guys leave off is fishing rocks, especially for smallmouth, and not seeing the actual bass at all.
I’ve been waiting on this!! Hit it right on the head. I plan to quick my factory job and pursue fishing within next 2 years. You’re amazing, best fishing channel on UA-cam by far. I grew up watching WWE with my pops, my son will grow up watching MILLIKEN FISHING!!!
No one ever does videos of graphing for offshore fish in northern states that would be pretty sweet. We don’t really have brush piles all over like out there here in NY. A video on what they set up on and and where to look to find them would be awesome. When people think of NY they only think of smallmouth but there’s plenty of largemouth in most lakes around here.
Ben, I read once that Bass fishermen average 500 cast for each fish caught. If that statement fits you, one thing is for sure, with the amount of fish you catch, you should really sleep well at night. I think those stats are for the Bass fishermen I see fishing in my rivers. Great content, love your presentation you provide.
Is there a way to send live video feed from the sonar to an external recording device like an I-pad or other OS? It would be a game changer for teaching and showing that it’s all legitimate, like you said…a little less talk and a lot more action.
The thing id like to see that I struggle with is how after you find them, and mark them how you go about turning around on them to fish for them. I will find fish on SI and DI mark them and go to turn the boat around to fish them and it’s like I marked the wrong spot or something. Any advice on that would be great! Thanks for all you do Ben!
Something that I really liked that he did in this video is not only drop one waypoint but he dropped four waypoints in a box and then in that box is the fish. So when you do that at the console, turn around to drop your trolling motor in, you look at the graph on the front of the boat (which if it is networked with your console unit you’ll see those waypoints) then you start to scan with livescope in that box area. I’ll definitely be using that tip for sure. I always just drop one point and sometimes it’s hard to get back to exactly what you saw on side imaging. 👍🏼
Bout time someone took the time to do this!! And it's a plus u have Humminbirds I run the same so I can relate. I struggle seeing those shadows or pepper as Defoe calls it, I feel as if I overlook alot so I would love to see more side imaging!!
This was great! When you see bass following your glide on LS, what does the size of the mark look like in comparison to the glide? Can you show footage of bass on LS when you say they are giants, or DD’s? Would like to get an idea of what size class fish I’m looking at on my LS. I try to use grid lines but my glide usually looks as big or bigger than the followers.
@@MJ_Bass that’s been my assumption as well. But have yet to see someone show an example to really validate the theory or really just to understand the size comparison to give some idea what size the fish is relative to the bait.
@@jasoneastwood1191 I think the biggest factor is just time on the livescope. I know I’m certainly not there yet, but when I watch guys who really know what they are doing it’s next level. Just by the shape and behavior of the return, they can tell approximately what the size of the fish is.
Yeah man I made a few videos this last winter recording my livescope and bass following my glides. It takes some time to get a proper judgement of size of those scope fish. Once they start getting 2 "segments" to their bodies, they're usually in that 4-5+ range. My boy Jack York calls em "tail waggers" haha
You and John Soukup would make a team that is unbeatable in a Tournament. You need to contact John and do a collab with him! You 2 have extensive knowledge!!! Keep the videos coming Milliken!#RippinLipsInc on You Tube!
Ben what cranking rod is that do you have a deep diver in your series or do you use something else when you’re throwing the big plugs! I’m looking for something to throw them 25’s
This is the problem with Humminbird. I went from always having lowrance HDS units since the Gen 1. Lowrance shows fish much better. They look bigger and are easier to see on side and down. Humminbird shows structure a little clearer but you have to zoom in to see those fish usually on SI with humminbird. When I switched this year to birds I was surprised how hard they are to see. I could idle around with HDS and easily see fish, then jump up front and cast at them with livescope, and before that using 2d and down. Took a long time to learn to find fish offshore and understand what you are seeing back in the day.Back when you had to learn things on your own before people showed everyone on UA-cam.
I bought the 7sv and used it yesterday and was able to catch one fish it was a small brim but never caught one in the middle of a lake before found a tree top under water
Not rare at all here in ky. I've caught them on crankbaits, spinnerbaits, jigs, and wacky rigged senkos. At first I'm like oh yeah I've got a giant bass, but quickly realize it's a damn catfish 😆
In general, the TI units are faster in response to inputs. This is seen when quickly switching between sonar, downscan, chart, and split screens ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxeAxH15LxhjGlg5-CRYqjTGTEH0tbY4vk recommend The Hook units will show some lag on button pushes and screen switching. The big ticket item though is maps. If you install a mapping card such as Navionics or the free C-Map Genesis which has a lot of map detail, then moving around the map with the cursor or when running down the lake can lag significantly on the Hook units, but is seamless with the TI units.

On your humminbird units do you always use mega imaging while side scanning or do you use other frequencies depending on depth?
