As Islamic State militants continue to pressurize the Syrian-Turkish border, their campaign of terror is uniting their enemies. Now Syrian Kurds are heading north, ahead of what could be a decisive battle.
"If ISIS conquers the border crossing, Aleppo is isolated", explains Chapo Salah, the leader of the Kurdish Front. "There would be no way out." In the Kurdish stronghold north of Afrin, the rebels fear an IS advance. A single raid by the well-equipped, well-organised soldiers of the radical Islamic State could see the last line of defence before Europe fall under the influence of the newly-formed Caliphate. "ISIS has almost laid hands on the North", Salah continues, "But not Azaz and the crossing to Turkey".
Having long played a pivotal role in the resistance against the Assad regime in Damascus, Syrian Kurds from all over the region are joining forces with the Syrian Revolutionary Front and other rebel formations in a co-operative movement determined to stem the flow of IS ideology. "They are themselves not human - they cut our heads off", says Yusuf al-Halabi, a resident of Bab al-Salama. As more militia groups come together, threatened by a strain of Islam that considers their beliefs aberrant and heretical, Chapo Salah senses change: "This is new", he says. "At the beginning, we were alone".

America is supporting the Kurds militarily in Iraq because they are a moderate group who are friendly to the West. They are very grateful to us for removing Saddam, and have shown that they can fight to establish autonomy in their area of Iraq. Yes I'm American. I have great respect for the Kurdish and especially the Kurdish women. At this point I know isis is only about 1,000 or so left according to the reports if accurate. They are nothing like they used to be. I wish there was peace for everyone there. much fighting in Syria and surrounding areas. Seems it will never end.
That's because it hasn't ever ended. From the crack of dawn and development of society the Afghanistan, Iraqi, and Syrian territory upholds its nickname "The Graveyard of Empires." Unless one of these groups can undergo a serious advancement of efficiency and weaponry to eliminate the other the stalemate fighting will probably continue well last our lifetime and probably the next 100 years... Easily. It's a sad situation because those countries I named in their own way used to be beautiful countries and some of the areas still are but war and destruction has and will continue to destroy the middle east until there is nothing left. Then they do what they always have done.. rebuild, rinse, and repeat

They even made a Surrendering deal with the Ex Goverment of Afghanistan because they feared the Taliban will execute them all. Go look up the "Battle of Darzab".
