I lived in a 3 HO Ashram in Orlando, FL for a short time in Fall of 1972, I believe. Y.B. and his wife Bibiji sp? stayed with us, and I met them both and spent some time with Bibiji traveling with the teacher and leader of the ashram, John T, his wife S. to St Petersburg to first meet with a master, Kirpal Sing in his hotel, and then to sit on the stage while the church was packed with people to hear his talk. Afterwards we walked out while people tossed flowers at our feet. I am going to be 70 in December, and was a very hurt kid from N.J. of 19. I did, however, have the psychological insight then, to ask myself, if a church full of people could be misled into thinking I was worth having flowers tossed at my feet, as some kind of special person, being just a knucklehead, a troubled kid from N.J., what other illusions were being promoted and sold ? When the teacher, John T., told us that Yogi B. had instructed him to warn us that the revolution was coming, and it was crucial for us to be wearing our white clothing and turbans, so as not to be associated with those who would be targeted for harm, I finally had enough information and realized there was something very awry going on, either with Yogi B. and/or the teacher in charge of our ashram. I left that late Fall with my white turban tied on my head, and hitch hiked North and West to Kansas. In Memphis, Tenn., I ran into a bad snow storm, and walked about four miles in the snow through the city until a semi tractor trailer slowed down and pulled over. I was exhausted and crawled up and into the cab and faced a skinny older driver, who had a small bottle of whiskey in his hand, who said, " When I saw that Hindu on your head, I just had to stop ." There were a lot of reasons for why Yogi B. was able to seduce so many people, but perhaps they too had to pull off from whatever highway they were on, because they saw that " Hindu" on his head, and wanted to wear one too, as well as merging with a grandiose figure to provide stability and self regard - purpose they were lacking at the time. Nothing new, people have been seeking this for thousands of years. Bruce Kugler, Ph.D.
Interesting. This was probably during the time I met him (above). I honestly can't recall a lot about the man, except I find funny that during the time our teacher, John Twombly sp?, and Yogi Bhajan's wife were in his hotel room, John wanted to message Kirpal Sing's feet, and he didn't want it, and finally he said something about he was sure John was very good at the art of foot message, but he had to decline. Instead, he carved fruit from a large bowl and fed us as a good host. @@kevinjoseph517
Hey Bruce my family also met the Yogi in Florida. We were originally from Connecticut at that point but my father was looking for work and was told the Hartford ashram would be able to give him work and house his family. My father was a hippie and spiritual truth seeking pothead but he needed a job also. That's why we went to the Hartford ashram and live there for a couple of years. And I was nine in India boarding school and then my father and guru John argued. My parents left the ashram moved to a different town south of Hartford and started listening to triangle Trungpa cassette tapes. Tibetan Buddhist monk starting a program Shambala in Vermont. Karme choling in Barnett. I came back from India my father was practicing a different religion. For me the appeal was it was seriously cold there and I loved it. After being in India I never ever wanted to be in hot weather again. It was so nice up there up there on the mountain. Giant shrine room and monks talking about existential things intellectual discussions going on around me and I was only 13 or 14. So I went from being a India kid to a dharms brat. " " Got pretty confused about religion and spirituality by the time I was 15 I was suicidal and PTSD problems and hospital admissions. There was a huge wave of adolescent treatment programs and yeah. It took a lot for me to get my shit together by the time I was 18 graduate high school and go to college. I went to university of Connecticut Hartford and then university Harvard masters program special education. But solidifying a career was never really possible for me for very long. Four or five years would be a record. At any job. I got reparation from 3HO and used it for a home. And a down payment on a car and fixed mine negative credit. Also my sister my younger sister she got some also but it was only a third of what I got. She was younger less involved and didn't go to India school. She just got done kind of ripping me off for some of mine. I'm still a naïve easy target for even the slightest manipulation especially someone like my sister someone I care about people anybody I care about. It's horrible. I almost married but was with someone for about 15 years complete narcissist sadistic etc. He was kind of stalking me and it wasn't till three years after I was going to realize that's what he was doing. And took me away from everyone I loved with lies and Anna very vulnerable time of my life with my father just died. Basically I've been a narcissist target my whole life since then. Thank God for the reparation program because I was still tied to him and his garbage until then. Now I can be free of him. Thanks to them I am very grateful for what they did and offered us. I know it doesn't take everything away not even in the slightest. But it freed me and I won't ever let that happen to me again. I never knew there were so many liars in the world. Turns out there's a Yogi B almost everywhere you go now. I hope the Internet crashes permanently. Despite how helpful and useful it can be it's also a playground for predators. Take care thanks for doing all that research. Probably on the Internet lol of course. Jugatejote kaur
I found kundalini yoga 🧘🏻♀️ from a book Dec 2018. The Kriya (set of exercises) I did January 1, 2019 changed my life. All by myself. I spent all of 2019 learning. By the summer I was blessed to attend the 50th anniversary celebration summer solstice, including 3 days of white tantric ❤. Then lived 40 days in the 3HO doing Seva. I then traveled to India 🇮🇳 and learned under Gurmuk & Gurushubad The 70 people who learned from them and the very strict details we all had to document after the month to finally receive my teaching certification of Kundalini yoga as taught by Yogi B. Then the book 📕 and Covid 3HO handled all of this very openly and professionally.
Hiya, I want to thank you for all your research and work to bring this information to the public. I trained as KYT in the uk in 2004. Thankfully, I never looked up to YB, and I only took from it what resonated with me. Yet, I loved the yoga, the chanting and the community. I stopped teaching KY around 2017 and since then have taught other forms. It’s only now (2024), that I am looking into YB and 3HO, everything you have said totally makes sense and fits in with all that we were taught on my training. It’s so bizarre that his lies could extend so far and wide beyond the USA. Thank goodness the truth is now out. With love and thanks, 💜 Lindi-Lu.
This is a bit old video, but I still choose to write something about this. I am a teacher in KY and have been that for the last 11 years. I got to know KY after YB's death and live in Norway in Europe. I learned a form of yoga that gave me a lot. The kriyas and meditations were powerful and much more energetic than in the classical yoga that I had practiced previously. For me, it doesn't really matter who YB was and whether he always told the truth. I have known for a long time that he lied a lot and that he was in conflict with his teacher. He is not the first to have come into conflict with his teacher and written him out of history. That is probably what many KY people also do today. It doesn't matter to me if he was a bad Sikh, as it seems to matter to you. I didn't like Sikhism in KY anyway. I found yoga to be very important to me. Yoga is about experience and not about religious learning or what others say about a topic. It is your own journey and your own experience. Everything else is subordinate. I think it's good that you have dug up all this information, but I don't think it's ok if the aim is to discredit the yoga form Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan. Regardless of where it is taken from, it is a form of yoga that works. For me, it is only reassuring that the yoga is taken from prominent, good yogis. Although these are other people thanYB claims. As said earlier; Yoga is experience and not beliving in something. I am currently teaching outside KRI and 3HO and feel that this is the path for me. Anyway thanks for your contribution and God bless!
Thank you for this EPIC research. I am so tired of gurus who misuse their gifts. And wake up !!! Know who you are learning from. We cannot willingly hand over our consciousness to anyone outside of ourselves. These moments show me where we are at as a human collective.
This historic research is courageous, thorough, and at times humorous. It is of value for those who were or are a part of 3HO. It is interesting for those interested in psychology, religion, and yoga.
Dear Mr. Philip, thanks for your time to do a research and show some discrepancies and misunderstandings in Yogi Bhajan and 3HO life. It was sad to watch, but life is life and it is fully accepted as it is. Whatever was said, true or lie, only time will identify. Do not judge and you won’t be judged, especially nowadays, in this difficult, variable and interesting world, where yesterday’s truth may be compromised and introduced as a lie tomorrow and vice versa. It is so easy today to manipulate people’s mind and tarnish reputation... Just remember five Sutras for the Aquarian age and life will bring you so much love and happiness: Recognize that the other person is you. Understand through compassion or you will misunderstand the times. There is a way through every block. When the time is on you, start, and the pressure will be off. Vibrate the Cosmos, the Cosmos shall clear the path. In any case, Yogi Bhajan is the one who introduced Kundalini Yoga to the majority of the people in the world. Because of him there are thousands KY teachers and millions students all over the world, who live happy and healthy life, being Christians, Sikhs or any other religion, it does not matter. There is one God! Yogi Bhajan is the one who shared with us White Tantra, I do not know anybody else who did. I was there, in France, in 2016 and 2018, during International Yoga Festival and Yogi Bhajan was also there...! For me and I am sure for many yogis it does not matter if anybody says he was not Mahan Tantric... His spirit will be always with us and He was definitely present during White Tantra in France, everybody felt that presence! I will be always grateful to him for that experience, the best in my life. Hope 3HO, despite all the difficulties they faced during the last year, will be able to continue making these yearly White Tantra Festivals. If you, Mr. Philip, know any other Mahan Tantric, or anybody else, who organizes real White Tantra that was so easily accessible as 3HO did, please share, I would be very grateful. I am not a Sikh, but thanks God, 7 years ago I met my wife who is a Kundalini Yoga teacher and that changed my life to the best!!! Now I read Japji, do my daily Kundalini practice and happy to spend more time with myself and recognize who I am. And that is because one beautiful and bountiful Indian man in late 1960s decided to go out from India and share his knowledge, his experience. So many thanks, infinite love and respect. I wish you Mr. Philip, your supporters, all Sikhs and everybody else on this planet stay healthy and happy, support each other, serve each other and respect! If there will be some free time in your daily routines I would highly recommend to everybody to do the Meditation to Open the heart lock, remember to warm up, (www.3ho.org/files/documents/transformationvol2_meditation_to_open_the_lock_of_the_heart.pdf) Try to do it at least for 40 days and see what happens. One more advise - read and try to follow “The Laws of Life” by YB. As you saw so shall you reap! May the long time sun shine upon you All love surround you And the pure light within you Guide your way on Sat Naam
I have watched your UA-cam video with interest. I studied Kundalini Yoga from 1987 to 1991 and was a great admirer ( and yes you could say advocate of 3HO). Being raised a Sikh from birth, I saw nothing that was against the teachings of Sikhism that was practiced at the Yoga festivals I attended, nor through the various books/magazines/articles I read concerning 3HO. I met Yogi Bhajan (YB) on 2 occasions and he was quiet and dignified. I know he was proclaimed the Siri Singh Sahib of the Western Hemishere- because the edit came from the Akal Takhat, (highest Sikh authority, Amritsar). Personally, I never associated his yoga teachings with practices of the Sikh faith and had no conflict distinguishing one from the other. As for Mahan Tantri title, abuse mentioned etc. I have insufficient knowledge, or none at all, to agree or disagree with your comments; yet must say if anyone abused any person I can only feel so sorry for what the victim endured and hope justice prevails. As for collecting disciples, YB always stated he was here to train teachers, not make disciples. I stopped practicing yoga years ago, even though to this day I can express openly it was the best form of mental and physical exercise that I had ever experienced. From a spiritual perspective, I respected YB but never took him to be a Guru of the Sikhs, (which he also purported as being Guru Nanak - Guru Granth Sahib). I never joined or was coerced into participating in anything detrimental to my well-being or my finances. I remember that period of my life as a time of spiritual growth, amongst others for whom the quest was similar. It saddens me to watch this video, but I just wanted you to know, what I saw, experienced and lived while connected in some form to 3HO. Wish you and all your viewers peace always.
Beautiful! I feel the same. It’s very sad indeed. If it was not for this practice I would have never learned about Sikhism and practice it, even without stepping into a Gurdwara in my life! I chant the Japji everyday and it gives me great joy and comfort by doing it. I have never been coerced or asked to give any money to 3HO or any other organisations. And their teacher trainings aren’t that expensive either.
Can one person make whole organization bad? i don't think so, i am sure there many people like you. Who takes the best aspects of the 3ho and used it it in positive manner in their life or in others. I am sure YB teaching had more positive impact than negative.
I lived in the KY community in Espanola while Yogi Ji was still alive giving lectures. I have nothing but good things to say about my interactions with Yogi Ji but I did have more problems with the community & their dogmatic ways. I actually heard Yogi Ji say things to the effect of him wanting people to be their own Guru. That he wanted teachers to be wiser than him. And that many people didn’t even understand him for who he really was. That he was a human just like anyone else. And Guru Ghobind Singh said that he wanted people to go to the Guru Granth Sahib for guidance and stop following a Guru. Guru Ghobind Singh was the last living guru in the Sikh faith. So their holy book is considered the 11th (master) guru and 1-11 follows the chakras 1-11. 11 represents the master number so their holy book Guru Granth Sahib is the collected teachings of the previous 10 gurus. I absolutely loved all the teachings of 3HO. Everything made a lot of sense to me. It was my favorite yoga of all yogas. ✨🙏✨💕
All gurus and possible cults should be studied like the way Philip has done. Very through. Excellent work. In practice what I understood from all of this, YB has copied certain sadhanas, practices of other yoga teachers and combined under the name of Kundalini Yoga. It worries me more if he come up certain made up kriya's
I found this workshop at coming Yoga Festival in France. It refers clearly to the name Santa Hazar Sing This workshop will cover the history of Kundalini Yoga & its origins in the Singh Jogi (Lion Yogi) lineage of the Akali Nihang Singh Khalsa. It will start with a lecture on Sikh Yoga tradition Via Guru Nanak, its origins in the Sant movement of Medievil India and a discussion on Kundalini Yogas Lineage of teachers. Those present at this workshop will be empowered with the transmission of rare meditation and kriya techniques that are at the fundamental heart of Shabad centered practice. TEACHER'S BIO Bhupinder Singh Nihang & Guvinder Singh Akālī are both Nihangs who hold the sacred transmission of the Khalsa's Meditative and Yogic metaphysical traditions. Bhupinder Singh Nihang has been a long serving Sevadar of the 3ho community across the world, having met the Siri Singh Sahib when he was in his youth - which lead him to meet the Nihang elders. Guvinder Singh is a research scholar, his teacher Nihang Baba Teja Singh was the brother of Sant Hazara Singh. He serves to preserve lineage.
really wonderful, Philip, for all your research, explanations, details ! thanks to both! i am broken to ear all that stuff, desgusted by the so called " spirituality"!
so now when he is dead, can I practice Kundalini yoga or it's not safe? I do not accept what he did to some people, but I like Kundalini yoga and it helps me
I had a kundalini rise in front of Yb when he taught in london during a mediation with both arms stretched out, was around 1995 in regents park...I was knocked on the floor...extremly powerful...i heard Yb say "Help her"....i was out of it blissed for around 4days until the energy subsided...excellent....obviously id raised something like it in past lives..wonderful
To Philip Deslippe : I want to point out inaccuracies in some of your statements made about the Yogi Bhajan GRD boiler telemarketing rooms. In your recent interviews, you say there was office supplies, toner and typewriter ribbons, sold to schools and non-profits, the checks were cashed but no office supplies were sent out by GRD. You say Yogi Bhajan's GRD was in effect selling "nonexistent" office supplies. This is only true for Harijwan junior's(the toner bandit's) business which was a separate entity from GRD although sanctioned by Yogi Bhajan. I worked for both businesses over many years and am in a position to relay the facts about what really happened. GRD which was run by the other Hari Jiwan, (Chief of Protocol for YB) and MSS Baba Singh, sold the office supplies at highly inflated prices but they did in fact send out the product to the schools and non-profits. And again, both the Toner Bandit's boiler room and GRD's were sanctioned by YB but the toner bandit, Harijiwan, was the only one who was indicted criminally on fraud and tax evasion. This Harijiwan(Toner Bandit) went to federal prison for 18 months. When I worked at GRD, we did misrepresent who we were, implying through various techniques that we were their normal supplier and that we had their normal order of toner for their copy machine ready to send out. There was certainly fraudulent misrepresentations made at GRD but the product was sent out. We also engaged in bribing office managers by sending out gifts to their residences after large orders were paid. I will also attest to witnessing MSS Baba Singh, one of the owners / directors at GRD, cashing a huge stack of checks in a back room at a check cashing business in Santa Monica California in the late 1980's. The Chief of protocol, Hari Jiwan Singh was charged in a field of Schemes in June 1997, the Federal Trade Commission filed charges against Hari Jiwan. (Taken from an FTC press release) Hari Jiwan Singh Khalsa, also known as Stephen Jon Oxenhandler, a/k/a Bob Thomas; as part of "Project Field of Schemes." This law enforcement effort comprised of approximately 61 law-enforcement actions. In its complaint detailing the charges, the FTC alleged that the defendants routinely misrepresented the risk, value, appreciation and liquidity of the gemstones they sold and falsely claimed that consumers would realize tremendous profits. In addition, the defendants falsely pledged that they could and would easily liquidate consumers' gemstone portfolios after an 18-month holding period. In fact, according to the FTC, the defendants typically ceased all contact with consumers and refused to liquidate their gemstones after the 18-month period. Shortly after the complaint was filed, the court issued a temporary restraining order, froze the defendants' assets and appointed a temporary receiver over the corporate defendants. Philip, I think it it is important to tell the facts and the fact is that Yogi Bhajan's GRD did send out the office supplies although they were fraudulently misrepresenting themselves and were at highly inflated prices.
There is a follow up email that is referenced several times in this video that I am interested in reading. I started practicing Kundalini Yoga as dictacted by Yogi Bhujan in 1999 and was encouraged to not go study directly with him. I studied with disciples and was dishinged by certain relationships I observed which led me to be discouraged to practice the yoga. The yoga has provided me with health benefits, if not miracles, and now that I am questioning the validity of the Kundalini yoga as taught by Yogu Bhujan, I am incredibly interestd in researching the methods of the teachers he synthesized from. I just today thought to Google Kundalini yoga after sitting down to practice and feeling off about it. I have entereed the rabbit hole of sexual allegations and I'm processing a wide cariety of feelings. This video is so concise and I'm very appreciative.
ami hanna, you must follow gursant singh nework, long time he said us what bhajan was! he was his own bodyguard during 30 years! so he knows him well; and you will be desgusted! as me! 30 years of KY, teacher too, i let all those dirty people
So sorry. You aren’t alone. But then I see many of his students are still scamming people. Check out Brett Larkin and Guru Singh of 13 moon. They are working hard to make Yogi Bhajan’s teachings valid.
@@nemeta3846so sorry. Let me know if I can help in any way to restore your yoga journey. I tried to make people aware but people trust larger following. Check Brett Larkin and Guru Singh from 13 moon. They are still pushing Yogi Bhajan’s teachings. He was a scammer. Many Hindus and Sikhs shared this so many times before social media but everyone was busy making business out of Kundlini teachings so no one was interested. Everyone thought that person who is raising the flag might be jealous of these people fame and wealth
I wish you would consider writing an article about your findings concerning Kundalini Yoga -- its dubious origins and claims -- for publication by "Yoga Journal!."
One thing that really bothers me is that people assume that Kundalini as taught by Yogi Bhajan is the only kundalini yoga , but it’s not . It’s just that it’s hard to find teachers who teach other forms of it.
there are other forms of kundalini . i remember somebody who worked at Lotus healing & she came back from India saying she`d done some..rikkikesh most probably up in Himilaya. Its not as fast, more Hatha based i believe
@@satka2mau487 All forms of yoga activate the kundalini according to my Hatha yoga teacher (he was also a former student of Kundalini Yoga as Taught by Yogi Bhajan)
I guess all the abuses now are buried under "beautiful worlds" such as "collective healing" and more. I hope the people from 3HO and all the ones who formed part of a cult structure known as "passive sect" could speak louder and take responsability for their pitiful silence (I mean the ones in positions of power, not the victims). Added to my personal list of "Yoghi Bhajan's research" so I can keep widening the gravity of his abuses and pitiful actions.
Sat Nam
desipanjaban that’s not true as Guru Nanak was a yogi himself , read Sidh Gost, and guru ram das was a raj yogi. Also find a quote by guru Amar das that speaks about sitting in asana and meditating. And many other quotes. If this is not yoga what is? Isvara pranidhana was already in the yoga sutra of patanjali.
@@GaliSatPuranLivneh If that's the conclusion you drew from the Sidh Gosht, I'm afraid you've completely missed the point. Guru Nanak was using references to yoga as a device to prove his point that naam simran is the path to God, not the practice of yoga, similar to 'if you yogis want to use yoga to reach god, then let naam be your yoga'. This device is using throughout the SGGS to implore those who spend their lives seeking worldly things to find happiness to turn to naam instead, i.e. instead of collecting rubies and emeralds, let naam and waheguru be your treasures.
@@GaliSatPuranLivneh , totally wrong. Had you every vist nanak matta. Guru nanak ji fully opposed the yogis. What they did? Guru nanak ji also opposed the pandits who did sun pooja. Yg every ashram doing the same pooja even sun or many others. Yb was a spy of RSS . Fully funded and protected by RSS to mix the culture of sikhs and hindus. Yes. Meditation is mentioned in Guru granth sahib. Waheguru simran is mantra. Saas saas simran method is there. not a yoga ever in gurbani . It's totally propaganda made by yb.
Where do you get that Jung explored kundalini yoga? he was familiar with the concepts of tantra, and kundalini, but those predate YB. It's just that it seems YB made a mishmash and misrepresented his sources. You can find Western texts on tantra and kundalini energy from the early 1900s or even late 1800's, and you can find Eastern texts on those topics, well, much older than that
@@melifever What do you mean "where do I get that Jung explored kundalini yoga?" There is a book of published seminar notes from 1932 by Carl Jung that you can find with a simple Google search. Jung died in 1961 and my question doesn't involve Yogi Bhajan at all. I was specifically asking if they had done research on the lineage that Carl Jung had explored. Hence my question. Pretty straightforward, I thought. Not sure why you replied.
@@kittychi999 Sorry, my phrasing was off. I was not aware of this book. I know he knew about tantra and kundalini energy. We should read the book and find out. For all we know maybe it was YB that stole the name "kundalini yoga" from him to appeal to Westerners!
@@melifever Yes Yogi Bhajan used the name Kundalini Yoga for "his" school of yoga, but this type of yoga was practiced and taught by many teachers and ashrams in India (even Shivananda was writing about it). It was a very good advertising catch and YB was a salesman. This is why he had to add "as taught by YB". There are many lineages who teach Kundalini Yoga, and Carl Jung was writing about such type of yoga being in contact with these, older than YB teachings. One of yoga Upanishad called Yoga Chudmani Upanishad (Crown Jewel of Yoga) is an source text about main practices of Kundalini Yoga .
@@kittychi999 I have since read Jung's book and he uses "tantric yoga" and "kundalini yoga" interchangeably (it's explained in the notes). Kriya yoga predates YB but he branded it and modified it. I seem to be finding lots of parallels in researching kriya yoga, raja yoga and tantric yoga.
It is now so obvious, that Yogi Bhajan was a charlatan. He was an intelligent man who was psychologically imbalanced. He stole some yogic techniques from other Yoga teachers mixed them with some Sikh theologies and offered them to the most vulnerable, naive groups of people in the 70s. It’s crucial for everyone and anyone who practices Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan to know all of this information. And at the top of that let’s add the sexual, physical, financial abuses that he has done to his students. A typical true story of a man who misused "power". You did a great job by doing this research. No one should accept any spiritual teaching blindly.
This tends to all be very two-dimensional secular. There is much more to it than traditions from institutions and cultures in India. Spontaneous transmissions through ancient cultures and practices can be revolutionary and authentic. “Terms” are always shifting and evolving as human consciousness evolves.
Thank you for this valuable research. Do you think he had some good understanding of tantric yoga though? Is that why the exercises have worked for many people? Perhaps he a gained a good understanding of the body, energy meridians, etc through the various yoga schools he studied at?
He didn’t so much study at various yoga schools as simply copy what others were doing, including from other people’s books. This is why many of the practices worked. They just weren’t legitimately transmitted through parampara (guru-śikśa lineage)
melifever he created all , it's easy to create postures and mantras( he robbed a lot to other practices) how do you know that " it works" ? what is working? people feel good, yes, because in KY, we chant, we play, we dance, etc we exercice the body, people need that; we need to express our body but life in society had killed all those simplicities; what the kids do everyday! we have to stay as kids! so bhajan exploited all that stuff! i was more than 30 years in KY, teacher too, i can say that to open the chakras spin your bodies, your energies to the matrix; you will , i leaved that, be in bliss , yes, but not for ever! not helping you to leave the matrix! on the contrary! and where are going the energies, do you know? a part in you, so few, the energies are robbed by archontic entities! ( see Wayne bush , " tricked by the light" ...

Well given what has come out from those who learned Punjabi, how YB referred to and denigrated his Western followers behind their backs, it doesn’t surprise me that he named some “Killer Kaur”, or Christian Singh…. It goes with the territory. I practiced KY for about 10 years, (age 54-64) prior I had many years of Hatha, meditation, and martial arts. (Total of 50 years, I began Hatha yoga back in the 1970’s interestingly enough with another guru who was exposed with sexual misconduct, Swami Satchidananda. I was a teenager living in the NYC ashram when the proverbial $*it hit the fan, back in 1971-2. Many of us, left at that point ) As for KY, since 2018 I’ve experienced lower back spinal issues. While, I do acknowledge aging is a factor, it seems to me, that KY and some of the exercises certainly exacerbated my condition.
Thank you this was great, always wondered the why and how of this movement and meeting the kundalini yoga followers in airports with their outfits I wondered but why????
Thanks for info. I went to a retreat in Orlando Florida in probably 1973….. I’m glad I got out quickly because I was a seeker of truth. Got home after that Christmas vacation…. Because they took Jesus out of the little chapel and put a big painting of Guru Nanak in a yellow turbin …. where this young girl was expecting to see Jesus….. not cool.
Wow, thank you so much for your research and presentation of your findings. Several questions I had asked myself on and off about KY you addressed. Namely, if he lived so healthy why did he die of diseases and illness? I had some pretty intense experiences during practicing KY since 1996 and when I would ask some long time yogi's in my community if they had any recommendations they all said they had no idea or they just stated platitudes that were no help at all. I have benefited considerably from KY and will continue to do yoga, just not as taught by yb. I can't support all the evil he partook in that has the weinstein, epstein, saville, psychopath flavor. What a lesson in the natural law principle of polarity, just to name one lesson. Thank you for speaking the truth.
He himself said that his heart failed and that if he with all knowledge he had cannot help himself, what about other people. K.y. helps, but it is not "all-solution pill".
Excellent. It is true. It will not be fashionable anymore to be associated with YB. It will be embarrassing. So good the truth is coming out. What about people like Snatam Kaur?
The search for truth is in contradiction to being "fashionable". Being "fashionable" is a play of illusion. There are many who do yoga for that purpose and that is why they don't experience the fruit of it. Then they turn around and say it doesn't work or the master is bogus or whatever. To authentically experience something it has to be done authentically with completely sincerity and laying the soul bare of the facade of lies that we have built up. Then with grace the bliss of the soul is experienced and integrated. Sat Nam.
Your information about : Yogi Bhajan did NOT franchise his yoga. You are factually incorrect about that . I have been connected to this community since December of 1969. You may contact me for further infomation about early 3HO ashram life. THe early ashrams were fully part of the 3HO Foundation Organization both legally and financially. These Ashrams in cities around the US (and eventually Euorpe) were run with oversight from 3HO Los Angeles.
Thanks so very much for this Phillip, I too practiced Yogi Bhajan's Kundalini yoga, to my own tremendous benefit. I find Vajrayana Buddhism to be even richer if not more difficult and chaotic than 3ho. Lineage is certainly crystal clear though, you won;t get away with being vague about who and what you learned from as a Vajrayana guru. But, my gosh, yes it is all tantra and oh my god all a bit much and we just slog on through one outrageous thing after another including a lot of abuse, its part of training unfortunately, being less ego centered. Oh my god, its all such a nightmare, LOL.
shemus mcquillaide no benefice to open the chakras, jump the kundalini, which is only an opening on demons coming in our bodies! in appearence, we feel better but later, we paid! and having practicise KY during 30 years or more, being teacher too, i can say that the energy don't go tu us but to bhjan for instance or other gurus or entities; satanic entities that's why new age is dangerous! its' the other face of the black dark satanic coin, the false light of lucifer! that's why many are masons, rosicrucians with bhajan but secretly! it's their agenda to trick us!
@@nemeta3846 I only did Kundalini Yoga for about 10 years, so perhaps I did not do it enough, I only had benefits, I felt better than I ever had in my life and I never came down. I had several very important experiences that have helped see directly the nature of mind, so I could never say anything ba about yogi Bhajan. Guru and Tantra is too much for some people, but you know yourself and you get out of the kitchen when the heat is too much, don't be negative and point fingers or you lose your chance to integrate. There is so much paranoia around Kundalini, but nobody can say they weren't warned o if not, you did not do due diligence. What is the issue anyway? Whatever you went through is over and any wounds will heal. You have a human life, you have all of the incredible potential of that, why dwell on Yogi Bhajan? And as we say in Vajrayana circles, the worst demon of all is yourself because it cheats you of all the full potentials of our non-dual nature. Demons and Rosicrucians and so on have no essential reality, but it is ourselves who give our energy over to them by believing in them an engaging with them. So who then is the demon? There is only one guru whether it is Yogi Bhajan, Guru Padmasambhava, your outer teacher at the yoga or meditation center or our basic wisdom an guru within, they are all just facets of our non-dual infinite awareness manifesting at the physical level. Tantric yogis and gurus are a wild ride, you are playing with fire, so tread other easier paths if its too much, don't create problems for yourself by pointing at others, really, I hope the best for you and all of us, may you reach enlightenment in this lifetime, we don't believe enough in enlightenment and that is the worst thing, we wastes our lives in distraction and doubt.

@@melifever Doubting who/what? Yogi Bhajan or Buddhist dharma? It seems that you don't doubt that Yogi Bhajan was in some way a bad actor. Well, thats your experience I'm sure you have very good reasons. The Buddha said to examine the teachings the way one examines gold atthe market, you test it and you involve yourself with it to see what it is. Its a way of saying that Buddhist dharma is ultimately about your experience of it, not books and what teachers and other people tell you it is. You have to experience the dharma for yourself, it doesn't mean you should develop your doubt or get into a skeptical ego trip that some people do pooh poohing everything because you've seen it all or you're a tough guy and nothing impresses you or you are secretly a flake hiding behind a veneer of the post-modernist scientism of today but actually who can't make up his mind about anything . It works for you or doesn't after a certain point so you move on and perhaps become a charming personage at the local pub or get into fitness training and forget it all, it doesn't matter it doesn't change the truth that Buddhism can help you to discover for yourself. What the Buddha meant was to become involved think about what is proposed, are things empty appearances, is the self non-existent or if it exists where is it, etc? It means don't just accept that phenomena are empty, look into it. It oesn't mean say all gurus are crap and no different from blacj magicians who run secret socities and covens that run our countries and militaries.
thank you Philip. I was wondering why you didn't go back to Shiva, the original yogi, if you had you would have noticed that what Yogi Bhajan taught was what Shiva taught. I also have had many teachers in my life experience, but only recognize one or two who really gave me what I consider the teaching I needed. It is obvious that you have a knack for taking events and twisting them your own personal opinions based on your likes and dislikes. Investigation is always tainted by what one wants to find even in science as atoms and particles have their own consciousness and respond to the intentions of the observer.
I always wondered why YB got so sick and died so young; looks overweight too, especially in later years. At first I assumed that he did his sadhana before he started the classes that we see in the videos (as many teachers do today), but now that seems doubtful to me. Weird.

If you were on a plane every weekend to different parts of the world and never got over jetlag you would probably die after 1 year of it.
I was in his organization and met YB. I never liked him or trusted him, even though I was encouraged to "meditate" on his portrait (photo). I'll tell you why he became an obese, disease- riddled person: Because he never did yoga and ate a bad diet and was too sedentary.
He ate a lot of bad food combinations and got indigestion. I know because I was there when he would fart these huge butt bombs, and the mike would pick it up. I could hear his wind breaking all over the canyons and mesas of the Jemez mountain range at Ram Das Puri. In that way, he was a very powerful man.
@@jacquelinesternberg8461 He actually didn't have time to take care of himself. That's what I saw and what he said himself. Even if you thought he was not doing anything he was working on people on the subtle realm. I experienced the benefits of that so often. He gave until there was nothing left of him in the physical realm. I never saw someone so sucked out the year he died. It made me so sad to see how much he suffered physically to do that.
Your presentation is so important and informative but the ums and ahs are terribly distracting... perhaps you can write your script first to avoid this problem in future..🙏
Sounds like a successful cult leader, from the members that still defend him even on the face of irrefutable evidence . I enjoy the kundalini classes tbh, definitely successful rituals.
edith small, a shmae to still follow that dirty robber, sodomist, rapist, drud and gold trafiquant etc see gursant singh 's website who was his bodyguard during 30 years! successful rituals you say: for just a time after you will pay to the entities! and your chakras are pinned to the matrix, how are you going to leave? too late, too hard!
The fact is that ALL these techniques come from God, it is cosmic knowledge available to everyone willing to walk the path . These so-called spiritual masters, like YOGI BAHJAN learnt from some "real yogis, realized siddhas" -with true spiritual powers - those who live in the forest, in caves and almost never come into contact with modern human civilization because they are liberated (moksha). Then, some BIG EGOS, like Yogi Bahjan, taken by the desire for power and money, label this knowledge as their own invention and sell. NO truly accomplished Master would have any complaints about sexual abuse, let alone buy lots of cars or build huge houses because they are free! SAT NAM🙏🏾🧘🏾♀️🕊
There is only one man that spread Sikhism outside of Punjab and that is Yogi Bhajan, literally not one person was able to do so.... 3HO Yoga attracted young people who found a purpose iin life through Sikhism. There was a vice documentary with a bunch of people who tried slandering Yogi Ji and 3HO, they had personal financial issues, like Gursant who has been hating for many years. Its all false nonsense.
I also read somewhere that his teacher actually existed and was found and proven to have existed by somebody, maybe he should keep looking deeper on that research, I read it some time ago and don't recall the link. on the other hand, where did Yogi Bhajan get his sensibility? I've never seen someone as sensible as him yet, I mean, like if I think something and he answers your thinking from a far away. or tell you what you had for dinner a day before without him being present. I am not defending him from his misconduct if he had some, I was not his keeper, I saw him many times and I never saw him flirt or go after women. some say he never ever did any yoga, he had something, that's a fact many can tell you that.
Everyone has an intuitive ability. He used his to manipulate people. He assaulted and abused both of my daughters. They have suffered greatly from this. His followers also copied his abuse. We were in the ashram for 26 years. The 3HO community was incredibly abusive.
Deslippe is right! *burns all Sikh history, pothis and images involving udasi practices and the historic alignment between udasis and other sampardas and especially with Gurus themselves* Sikhs don't do yoga!
Udasi were never considered orthodox Sikhs, they rejected Guru Nanak's wishes. No matter how much you want to lie, none of the Gurus ever did yoga or encouraged yoga, however you will find there are tales of them criticizes Yogis.
In the Sikh Dharma there is Bhakti Yoga Devotion, Mantra Yoga chanting japji and SAT NAM etc, karma yoga through serving langar free food at Gurudwara, Sankhya Yoga through philosophy of Divinity in Guru Granth Sahib, there is Hatha Yoga in siting crossed legged, holding prayer position with hands, yoga ethics, and cleanliness, some Sikhs have Awakened kundalini just through jappa absorption in Nam......so because some Sikhs do not practice all the traditional 84 Hatha Yoga assanas, or kundalini yoga as taught by YB, or as taught by Guru Nanak's eldest son Baba Sri Chand, or Lord Shiva Mahadeva Yoga teacher or YOGESHVARA BHAGAVAN SRI KṚṢṆA, does not mean Sikhs do not practice Yoga.
I have been practicing KY for over 20 years. Perhaps you should try to experience instead of analyze. It is a practice that is far more than basic. Have you ever even done White Tantric Yoga? I'v done it probably 40 times. Best thing in my life that helped me heal chronic illness. The yoga works, it is a disservice to keep bashing it. Especially when you have never tried the practice.

What APPEARS TO BE and WHAT IS is a big, big (!!) difference. Just because someone uses written word in a form of a book or a lawsuit, craftily and to their advantage, doesn't mean they are telling the truth. Premka was a child with a history of Satanic ritual abuse, by her family,. She also was an escort girl and a CIA operative when she meat Yogi Ji. Yogi Ji was directly negotiating with her CIA "handlers" when the first "Premka scandal" broke off. Personal witnesses of such negotiations are still alive. The deal (ransom?) was $10,000 as I recall, deal done on a private plane with CIA involved. As to Premka, Yogi Ji very simply told her "You cannot be both a Saint and a Whore of Babylon, all at the same time, My Child." Referring famously to Premka's affair with another girl's husband, as news of the affair dropped like a bomb on the roof of 3HO. He simply said "My Mission is My Book, and right now in your Position you are its Cover. Take responsibility for your actions. You are representing Sacred values of my Mission, and coveting after another woman's husband is not a good deed. Choose, but you cannot have both." Yogi Ji simply held her to the trial of Truth. And yes, CIA got extremely sour. They still are. There are A LOT of CIA agents among 3HO. Current Head of 3HO is a CIA agent as a matter of fact. Also involved in Satanic Rituals and Satanic Ritual Abuse. I know it personally. As a matter of fact. And yes, before the court, I can testify. Would love to, if called. Truth is Truth
@@loretronic that’s impossible for you to know. In your apparently limited opinion of what he should have learned, what is he missing from the teachings after 12 years in the organisation?
Wow you are so wrong in many ways! Comparing the teachings, 8000 kriyas and hundreds of meditations to help you transform yourself and find spirituality with Jimmy Saville’s entertainment. How far from it you are. Then to the Sikh community I only have to let them know that I and thousands are in awe of your practices and wholeheartedly adopt them as the result of YB’s work and legacy. Don’t get fooled. YB put them Sikh community high. I hope the speaker one day understands a fraction of the growth and transformation of YB’s teachings provide. That YB copied from here and there. Well I got some news here, Nobody is original in their work. Einstein has to use algebra and calculus and the work of many to deliver his theories. Then... what about Gandhi? He was an abuser of women, but all the good of his legacy can’t be taken away from him. Mother Theresa is said to have been horrible with the people around her and this is peculiar as many spiritual leaders are and have been. So whatever you say, thousands of us will continue passing down his teachings and helping people to get better from depression, to get away from abuse, to work on themselves as to become happy and conscious beings. KY taught as YB has transformed my life and the life of many others and we will continue to teach it. You can’t just wipe out such a vast amount of work from this investigation you just made and presented in a few pages. It’s just not possible.
I agree with you completely. Everybody has a darkness inside them that they don't show. I am not perfect. I have down despicable things. Yes everybody has gathered inspiration from someone else and edited and cropped it to develop their own version. Kundalini yoga has also changed my life. It is not because others say it works. It is because physically and mentally it has changed me. I was suicidal for most of my life and Kundalini yoga saved me. I can't give it up.
Why defend a rapist.... do you think his victims have also faced suicidal thoughts? how enlightened are you to defend the rapist and not the women who need support? I think it may be time to truly look within... perhaps you stared too long at a photo in front of you or hung over your bed....

I was exhausted and crawled up and into the cab and faced a skinny older driver, who had a small bottle of whiskey in his hand, who said, " When I saw that Hindu on your head, I just had to stop ."
There were a lot of reasons for why Yogi B. was able to seduce so many people, but perhaps they too had to pull off from whatever highway they were on, because they saw that " Hindu" on his head, and wanted to wear one too, as well as merging with a grandiose figure to provide stability and self regard - purpose they were lacking at the time. Nothing new, people have been seeking this for thousands of years.

kirpal toured in 1972. i saw in nyc maybe sept 72.
Got pretty confused about religion and spirituality by the time I was 15 I was suicidal and PTSD problems and hospital admissions.
I then traveled to India 🇮🇳 and learned under Gurmuk & Gurushubad
The 70 people who learned from them and the very strict details we all had to document after the month to finally receive my teaching certification of Kundalini yoga as taught by Yogi B.
Then the book 📕 and Covid
3HO handled all of this very openly and professionally.
With love and thanks,
💜 Lindi-Lu.

Just remember five Sutras for the Aquarian age and life will bring you so much love and happiness:
Recognize that the other person is you.
May the long time sun shine upon you
All love surround you
And the pure light within you
Guide your way on

Thank you so much, Philip from a longtime former student of YB. Your well-researched, humble presentation is deeply valued.
@@lionkills1 Thanks, would like to believe they did.
Thank you 🙏🏼 Gurnam for your warm words about YB... Fully supported ...!

It refers clearly to the name Santa Hazar Sing
This workshop will cover the history of Kundalini Yoga & its origins in the Singh Jogi (Lion Yogi) lineage of the Akali Nihang Singh Khalsa.
TEACHER'S BIO
Bhupinder Singh Nihang & Guvinder Singh Akālī are both Nihangs who hold the sacred transmission of the Khalsa's Meditative and Yogic metaphysical traditions.
Thank you Truthseeker.

Does it work? There's your answer. Remember, most "opinions" haven't even done a practice this morning. You got everything you need 🙏
Yes! Kundalini yoga 🧘🏻♀️ keeps my heath and mind in a beautiful place of peace Sat Nam ❤
I had a kundalini rise in front of Yb when he taught in london during a mediation with both arms stretched out, was around 1995 in regents park...I was knocked on the floor...extremly powerful...i heard Yb say "Help her"....i was out of it blissed for around 4days until the energy subsided...excellent....obviously id raised something like it in past lives..wonderful
did he do you then?

Sikhism has no mention of Yoga, where Yogi Bhajan got that idea I haven't a clue but he USED Sikhism to promote his teachings to fool others.
desipanjaban that’s not true as Guru Nanak was a yogi himself , read Sidh Gost, and guru ram das was a raj yogi. Also find a quote by guru Amar das that speaks about sitting in asana and meditating. And many other quotes. If this is not yoga what is? Isvara pranidhana was already in the yoga sutra of patanjali.

Guru Nanak nor any other guru ever practiced useless Yoga.

It's totally propaganda made by yb.
Wondering if you did any research on Carl Jung's exploration of Kundalini Yoga and what lineage that was from? thank you!
Where can I find the book written by the Swiss student of swami dhirendra?
The « Halelujah holy bible Johnson » at the end killed me 😂 Great work Philip

Yes that rock 🎸

Leelan Po is not a Tibetan name. There's no such Lama under that name in all of Tibetan Buddhism's history.
Many of us, left at that point )
As for KY, since 2018 I’ve experienced lower back spinal issues. While, I do acknowledge aging is a factor, it seems to me, that KY and some of the exercises certainly exacerbated my condition.

He hadn't a clue about nutrition
Excellent.
Sat Nam.
One thing about the yogi system,it has the best system for producing Masters.

Thanks so very much for this Phillip, I too practiced Yogi Bhajan's Kundalini yoga, to my own tremendous benefit.

He got sick because he was constantly helping people 24/7.
@@jacquelinesternberg8461 He actually didn't have time to take care of himself. That's what I saw and what he said himself.
If his teacher was a real Sant, then someone would know who he was.

In the Sikh Dharma there is Bhakti Yoga Devotion, Mantra Yoga chanting japji and SAT NAM etc, karma yoga through serving langar free food at Gurudwara, Sankhya Yoga through philosophy of Divinity in Guru Granth Sahib, there is Hatha Yoga in siting crossed legged, holding prayer position with hands, yoga ethics, and cleanliness, some Sikhs have Awakened kundalini just through jappa absorption in Nam......so because some Sikhs do not practice all the traditional 84 Hatha Yoga assanas, or kundalini yoga as taught by YB, or as taught by Guru Nanak's eldest son Baba Sri Chand, or Lord Shiva Mahadeva Yoga teacher or YOGESHVARA BHAGAVAN SRI KṚṢṆA, does not mean Sikhs do not practice Yoga.
a lot of research here.
For those who might want to help....www.gofundme.com/f/gigi-needs-a-home
This is like Christian’s missionaries judging Hopi and Navajo practices and beliefs in the last centuries
Let go of the critical acceptance in your life. We will tear down the man but find the spirit left after is our own just the same.
fascinating research...I trained 24yrs ago as a teacher and heard about the rape abuse charges re Premka but not Kate. Ive seen the documents on the internet..dosent mean much to me. Intreasting , Yb gathered teachings from all places and at last we can see the references with dhirendra..i shall check out him on youtube.
Do not judge me and where did you get that idea from?
How can one tell a CIAgent?
Have you practiced Kundalini Yoga?
Have you had the experience?
One can only talk based on experience, the rest is intelect and mind existing.
He was a KY student and teacher for 12 years
@@SusanHopkinson he didn't learn a thing then... Therefore, was never Yogi Ji's student.
@@loretronic REALLY?
@@rmcompany5098 love you
@@loretronic that’s impossible for you to know. In your apparently limited opinion of what he should have learned, what is he missing from the teachings after 12 years in the organisation?
You are so in your head. There is no way you can appreciate this technology
@@kcrow430 blessings! I’ve never seen life as meaningful since I began practicing ky everyday. The practice is just profound.
Why defend a rapist.... do you think his victims have also faced suicidal thoughts? how enlightened are you to defend the rapist and not the women who need support? I think it may be time to truly look within... perhaps you stared too long at a photo in front of you or hung over your bed....
@@rmcompany5098 I’m not defending his bad actions but his teachings are relevant. Narrow minded view when you have never experienced what this man put together. It’s tragic and a proper police enquiry should be conducted. Thousands of priests in the Catholic Church have raped and abuse ld of children that does not mean to tell people to stop being catholics. So it’s all a false morality. Duality exist in all of us. So many parents or relatives abuse of children. Ghandi had a harem and mother Theresa was a difficult bitch, but that won’t take away their legacy.
@@layhingsiu-munro8810 Yogi Bhajans teachings didn't work for himself. He wouldn't be raping people.
Cancel culture sees anything as toxic that they can’t understand or accept agree with . . . bring out the shills . . .
Its extremely sad to see the kind of karma you are creating for yourself. Yogi Bhajan has brought immense healing on this planet through his1000's of kriyas, teachings and will continue to do so. He is an undying guiding spirit!! If you can do yourself a favor work on taking down all of the negative videos against him on youtube and liberate yourself from this immense negative karmic sin. Sat Nam!!
frauds
You obviously did not have Yogi Bhajan as your teacher and neither did you get through Shakti Pad. Those who don’t, talk like this ego driven nonsense.
