    This will probably get lost in other comments, but I'll say it anyways. *I feel if David left UA-cam to do a project and came back, he could easily come back.*
    Obviously I can't be certain on all this, but it seems he has a very diverse audience. There's no one thing that brings people to his vlogs, but part of it is how GENUINE he seems. He just seems like the down to earth, everyday person - the type of people UA-cam used to be filled with. He just gets to do crazy shit we can't do. I think no matter his content, if HE enjoys it and pays attention to his audience as he does it, I think he could really do anything.

    I understand what David is saying in the sense that if he walks away from what he knows to be successful to try something that might end up failing that he will never be able to just come back to that venture with the same amount of success. In theory he is right that the climate will have changed without him but I do think that he is such a well known and respected part of the community that not only would his followers be supportive of his other ventures, that they would be just as willing to welcome him back with open arms when he is done with it.
    I do think it would do him well to take a week or two off of work, not only to reevaluate his relationship with it but to just re-set himself as a human. Dude's on all. the. time. No matter how much you love what you do, your mind and body can only take so much. I can't foresee anyone being angry at that at all, especially with all the youtuber burn out conversations of the last few months. We'd all be here waiting patiently,

Not saying he shouldn't post every week i'm just saying if he posted less often he would be just as popular as he is now, possibly more because he would be able to put more work into the vlogs and not be so exhausted all the time.

    • @ZachHighlights
      @ZachHighlights 5 років тому +18

      @@TheKomar924 he will lose some relevance, but he'll lose that with age too. His audience will get older and not be as into his vlogs the older they get. People change often and so do their interests.
      He doesn't have to quit fully, he just has to make the movie a side fun project until he finds his footing in the film world then transition into that.
      Example: A lot of people want to quit their 9-5 and become UA-camrs or Twitch Streamers, they should do the UA-cam thing as a hobby and work that 9-5 until they find success in the UA-cam world or find something they're happy with. David is giving and end all ultimatum which he shouldn't be thinking that way. He needs SLOW transitions.

    I get what david is saying about this whole sleep thing... it’s kinda spooky. it’s just constantly being exhausted, and he is definitely being run thin :-( It’s not healthy at all and i think if you look at this young generation of youtubers who go viral (Logan Paul, Elle Mills, David, Liza Koshy, iiSuperwoman, etc.,) they are burning out a lot faster and a huge reason is if you look at other parts of popular culture (memes, viral videos, Television) is that they last about 2 weeks. we consume so much information in the news, with revolutions and wars and tragedy that entertainment media is excepted to reach further distances where the next viral thing is always something new and exciting. the great thing about this series is that all of these young social media influencers have an outlet in which it’s just a conversation with a friend. in Elle Mills most recent video she talked about her weight loss and how she was doing it in a “bad” way, and it was a relief to talk to someone but Kati Morton even said she believed it was a result of her burnout.

      this might sound absurd but i feel like david is slowly killing himself whether we, his friends and family, or even he himself realizes it or not. i feel like he puts himself into this kind over overdrive where he feels the need to over achieve or over succeed and if he doesn't he feels like he's cheating himself or his fans even tho he's not. i never felt the need to worry about him until i watched this video. the part for example where he said he doesn't feel full of sleep, i feel like thats kinda concerning. i feel like because he lives such a fast paced life one day everything is gonna catch up to him and he's gonna feel empty and want to end it all and i really hope everyone does come together in a room and talks with him and convinces him to slow down his life a bit. idk if anyone agrees with me but this is just a thought. if you read this thank you and if you didnt thats ok im not trying to make you feel like you have to read this. also i hope youre all having a nice day/night. :)

    • @margaretkalkstein1550
      @margaretkalkstein1550 5 років тому +8

      Ben Riska I don’t think it’s so much a spiraling depression as it is overworking to the point of absolute mental exhaustion. Not that he can’t be without Liza or anything, but I’ve completely followed him throughout the podcast and at the start it was a common theme that the only things to bring him true joy is the vlogs and Liza. Now that they’re are broken up, it kinda shows that he’s completely focussing and relying on only the vlogs for joy/fulfillment. He’s now began to also talk about (mostly on the pod) how to be good enough he always has to be bigger and better. While his drive is good, his content shows a lack of a lot of the simpler and quicker bits that allowed him more free time, even if we enjoy them, which can be connected to this. Although at the same time, this is all just a guess as we only see a small bit and this is essentially all just inference and over analysis which should probably be ignored...😂

    I think David’s in a very good position to set himself up for life. I’d personally buy property in Verne Hills. If it all go’s away at the very least you have a home with family and friends. Not having a mortgage at such a young age is what would be freeing. Even if you worked a normal job that money would be “yours”. I think with the right financial choices you could almost “retire” by 30. Young UA-camrs tend to buy mansions and Supercars. When they could set themselves up for a upper middle class life easily. A quote I love is “Remember when you wanted everything you have right now”. Remember that instead of the modern more, more, more mentally.
    (From a 30 something mum 🙂)

    I would sacrifice the vlogs if David made a movie.. Despite him being my favorite UA-camr and me loving his vlogs, I feel like I would love him being a filmmaker. He should just get Natalie to follow him on set and do weekly Behind the Scenes/update vlogs.

    I hope David can step aside himself and see that he can stop doing UA-cam for any reason whether it be personal or for another project and have people awaiting his return. Look at Liza, she stepped away and explored other things and a lot of her fan base is excited to see her return. David choosing complacency versus risk (and reward) is wasted potential and honestly it’s sad to see. At the end of the day I hope whatever decisions he makes bring him happiness.

    10:30 it’s because you aren’t sleeping with your circadian rhythm. In essence, you are following asleep at times your body doesn’t naturally fall asleep and you probably aren’t getting quality sleep. Everyone has different times they sleep, some peoples naturally sleep cycle can be from like 2 to 10 or from 10 to 8. I highly recommend reading “Why We Sleep” if you want to understand it. Also an incentive to sleep well is that you could be performing so much better if you got proper sleep.

    David this lack of energy even if you get enough sleep is because of staying up a lot. Sleeping during daytime differs a lot than sleeping during the night. No matter how much you sleep. I've been dealing with this for years now and i don't remember when was the last time i had an actual night of sleeping. I never took this shit seriously years ago but now ik that It's the worst decision one can take, it affects you both physically and mentally, you should consider fixing that sleeping schedule lol.

    Wow, I’ve never related to someone more than I have with David, health wise. I genuinely have this eerie outlook on life where I don’t feel like I’m gonna live past 20-30. I need to see a doctor, I haven’t had a check up in 2 almost 3 years and I’m not quite a hypochondriac but I feel like something could maybe be wrong. The way that he talks about his health makes me think David senses there could be something wrong but is scared that if he goes to a doctor he’ll be diagnosed with something and it’ll interrupt the life that he’s built for himself or get in the way of his work. Which is exactly what I’m afraid of.

    David has it right. He has made the very best of YT. Now to move on to something else is scary because you are at the top of your game. But he is maturing even at 22 and understanding there is a limit. What can I do next and be successful and it is not an easy move. He is a really bright guy surrounded by a great team.He has enough money to take a break and move to something else and I hope he does. It make take some bumps in the road to get to a great content producer but David has the talent to know what is good content and how to produce it.

    David my boy, we love the vlogs and everyone can agree! But taking a break for yourself and your mental health is hugeeeee, you can’t make great vlogs if you aren’t feeling great yourself. I know you’re scared to make this movie and not being able to come back to UA-cam, but Many many UA-camrs take breaks and come back, we would 100% support you! We love you and want you to be able to love yourself! Just like in yours and Liza’s break up video (still crying about that btw) Liza said she needed to love herself before she gives love. Any decision you make, we’re behind you and support you! ❤️

Brandon is struggling with depression as far as I know (think he mentioned something like that before) or is atleast a more pessimistic guy so for him not feeling that energized after waking up is normal. But if you used to feel a certain way and especially if you're working that much you probably should look into why you don't anymore.

    david, honey, you’ve put the work in. everyone loves you. you’ve been more focused and driven than some people are in their entire lifetime, and it’s your biggest strength. until it turns into your biggest weakness. i think you could choose exactly how you want to slow down, it doesn’t have to be coming off youtube forever to make a movie, it could just be posting 2 vlogs a week instead of 3 - so you have more time to look after yourself and explore other opportunities? please do whatever feels right for you because, no matter what, you’ll always have millions of strangers on the internet (like myself) rooting for you!
