I am a non-EU citizen and navigational officer in an offshore vessel and have work experience with several europian companies. How can I get residency permit for Sweden. The reason why ai want to move there is I love the culture and the people of Sweden.
If I have a remote job in another EU country and want to live in Sweden for more than 12 months, but still work for my original company in my original EU country can I still get a Personal Number even tho technically I won't pay employee/employer taxes in Sweden? And another question is if my Husband is working and being able to support me and the kids, can we live in Sweden without me having a job and can we still get Personal numbers? Thank you in advance for answering my two questions!
My husband is Belgian and receives a Permanent Invalidity Income (which will be replaced by his pension in due time) We live currently in Ireland with our adult daughter. I am included upon his Income as his Carer and will remain so when we receive the pension too. We are hoping to sell our home here and retire to Sweden early next year. I understand it will be easier for my husband as he is an EU citizen but both myself and my daughter are Scottish so have UK passports. I know you can't go into detail on UA-cam but please can you tell me if it will be very difficult for us to move as a family? Also, as retirees, do we still have to apply for visas to enter Sweden?
Great question! As you mentioned, we can't really go into details about specific cases. Moving between nations always comes with a set of "admin work" that can be time consuming, and somewhat frustrating. But, nothing is impossible. We got a few general "moving to Sweden" articles published via www.sweden.se Head over to the website and type in "moving". The appropriate texts should surface. Good luck with your quest to "become a Swede"!
Yes, they can. But, not automatically. "To become a Swedish citizen, you must fulfil the habitual residence qualification, which means that you must have been resident in Sweden for a certain period of time. Your period in Sweden with a permit to settle here is counted as your period of habitual residence". Start looking for work BEFORE you arrive! That way, you have something secured and only move when the work matter is settled.

We can't comment on individual cases. The best is to check in with the Norwegian and French embassies.
