The new tags that are auto activated as cost allocation tags , will show up in cost explorer right ? But when I select one of these tags , there are no costs reported on them . Why is that ?
hey, I will depend on the usage you have and other params. Happy to dive into it more but would be best to take off this chat. Could you email costoptimization@amazon.com and we can help
@@TheKeystoAWSOptimization Sure , I can.email - But what are the parameters / usage that affect this? Simply set up EKS clusters with some pods & enable SCAD . As mentioned in this video, some cost allocation tags are automatically created and activated. Go to Cost Explorer, and in Cost allocation Tags, select these tags - you will see nothing.
@@TheKeystoAWSOptimization Also try out the other issue, I mentioned in the other comment. Set up a ECS cluster, with ec2 nodes . create 2 tasks and tag them (Myapplication:MyApp1, and Myapplication:MyApp2) . These 2 tasks should read and write to 2 different s3 buckets (tag these 2 buckets as well Myapplication:MyApp1 and Myapplication:MyApp2). activate Myapplication tag as a Cost Allocation Tag. Now to find the cost of MyApp1 ; I expect to filter my CUR for that tag value. But this does not work. But if the cluster was constructed with Fargate, it works fine. Isnt this exactly why SCAD was built. Why does this not work ? Has it been tested?
Great session!
Thanks!
