Nickel Creek - The Meadow (Official Audio) From the new album Celebrants, out now: orcd.co/celebrants #nickelcreek #newmusic #americana #bluegrass #folk
Heard this song live at their concert this week in Iowa and: wow. Those microtonal bended slurs just knocked me out. Hands down one of my new favorites.
Terrific song from terrific album. This song, and the album in general, is trippy, dreamy, borderline psychedelia. Not as immediately accessible as their earlier albums--which is one of the main reasons I love it. If a standard approach to bluegrass is your thing, this album will not resonate with you. But if you like songs to grow on you slowly, harmonic complexity, and a transportive quality, it's all here. Closer to Punch Brothers than early Nickel Creek.
We thoroughly enjoyed witnessing the magic of Nickel Creek perform again live at the Big Top Chautauqua on 7/16/2023. Nothing like experiencing genuine artists under the big blue tent on the shores of the Gitche Gumee.
This is why you win a MacArthur. Absolutely nuts and maybe Sara or Sean thought it up, but Chris' vocal stands at the forefront. As a Nickel Creek fan since the beginning, man oh man, what a track.
how about a CMT Crossroad with Devin Townsend or with Steve Vai? After this song (track 4) I had to stopover the CD, cause I could hardly cope with the overwhelming information. What is the increase of "most progressive"?
Best song on the album. Those harmonies weaving into and out of dissonance really get the feels flowing.
I keep coming back to this one as a favorite, as well.
me too. I was excited when they released Strangers, then Holding Pattern, but this is my favorite right now. Love Nickel Creek.
Not my favourite but it's definitely up there. The entire album is good it's kind of hard to pick a favorite.

Same. Any time Nickel Creek slides around with harmonies like this I love it. Same reason I love the song Eveline. 😊

This is a real standout on this album. I'm loving the whole thing, but this one really caught me in a different way
This song is incredible, and I hope they include it in their live set.
Chillbumps. Feels like hearing the Lighthouse for the first time
This is definitely my favorite off the album!!

Listening to this album ad nauseam but this one…. It just hits differently ❤

Three incredible musicians that become something even more when united
(4... never forget the unofficial member of the band -- the bassist is important to there songs!)
