For anyone wondering what the video means, the creators said that upon hearing this song it made them think of a french phrase that meant "to melt for someone". When they were trying to figure out what they could "melt" they thought of gold. There is a video on youtube that talks about the music video and how it was made. I wish remembed the link.

I wish more artists would understand what fanimations and even amv's figured out ages ago. When you have a song with a clear rhythm or beat. MATCH that rhythm and beat with what's going on in your video. The reason the Ghost animation is so much more loved than the real one is because aside from being interesting and memorable, the movements and action match up with the actual song.

It is very quite simple can almost place any other music instead of magic and you wouldn't see the big difference.

This definitley brings a whole new meaning to star-crossed lovers.
I don't know if this video really fits the song. Don't get me wrong, it's beautiful, and very well done, but it doesn't seem to fit the visual style the song seems to evoke, and the content doesn't really fit the rhythm of the song either. I think Yuracon captured this song better in his animatic, it was high energy, and colorful, with lots of cuts and crescendos, while this one's a bit slower and static throughout.

You don't understand the point. Why Digi Holic said is about tempo and beat, whatever the lyrics.
The clip with his slow moving camera, with cuts showing the same thing, the characters who slowly moving, when they're not stay still, and more of that, the scene is not moving at all, we saw the inside of this "ship/house/palace" for 80% of the clip.
In fact, all the clip is more contemplative, surely 'cause they wanted to enjoy us with the animation, which is, one again, totally fine. But not for this music, cause it doesn't have the beat to do that.
Fun game, mute the clip, and started it with a epic music behind, (I tried with this one : ua-cam.com/video/oK0URclIcZU/v-deo.html), and it totally fits, cause the epic music (action/build/orchestral) enhance all the travellings, the cuts, and give more power of what you want to show with this. That the whole point of music in cinema.
And moreover, the lyrics and the video, to me it would make more sense if this was about a guy/girl thinking of someone he/she loves, and they're travel across a city, a land, I dunno, and they finally meet eachother. With that script, we can make much more situations, make it more dynamic, switch between the two characters, and this would have more action which is what Music could give it easily.
totally agree, but the story is nice and the truth sile silenced a little more rhythm to the animation and I know that also giving animation is not easy so I admire the work they have done
I personally think video is a metaphor about how love between people who approach one another as equals is superior and "magical", especially compared the fawning worship of another. And that love between equals is superior even if it comes from one who is inferior to one loves as a worshipper (The silver man's love was far more more powerful and desirable than the gold men's worship).
