I wish more artists would understand what fanimations and even amv's figured out ages ago. When you have a song with a clear rhythm or beat. MATCH that rhythm and beat with what's going on in your video. The reason the Ghost animation is so much more loved than the real one is because aside from being interesting and memorable, the movements and action match up with the actual song.
Now that I think about it, yes that would have been awesome, it could have been some of the cheesiest dance moves, and It still would have been better than them moving around like idle video game characters.

I don't know if this video really fits the song. Don't get me wrong, it's beautiful, and very well done, but it doesn't seem to fit the visual style the song seems to evoke, and the content doesn't really fit the rhythm of the song either. I think Yuracon captured this song better in his animatic, it was high energy, and colorful, with lots of cuts and crescendos, while this one's a bit slower and static throughout.
You don't understand the point. Why Digi Holic said is about tempo and beat, whatever the lyrics. The clip with his slow moving camera, with cuts showing the same thing, the characters who slowly moving, when they're not stay still, and more of that, the scene is not moving at all, we saw the inside of this "ship/house/palace" for 80% of the clip. In fact, all the clip is more contemplative, surely 'cause they wanted to enjoy us with the animation, which is, one again, totally fine. But not for this music, cause it doesn't have the beat to do that. Fun game, mute the clip, and started it with a epic music behind, (I tried with this one : ua-cam.com/video/oK0URclIcZU/v-deo.html), and it totally fits, cause the epic music (action/build/orchestral) enhance all the travellings, the cuts, and give more power of what you want to show with this. And moreover, the lyrics and the video, to me it would make more sense if this was about a guy/girl thinking of someone he/she loves, and they're travel across a city, a land, I dunno, and they finally meet eachother. With that script, we can make much more situations, make it more dynamic, switch between the two characters, and this would have more action which is what Music could give it easily.

I personally think video is a metaphor about how love between people who approach one another as equals is superior and "magical", especially compared the fawning worship of another. And that love between equals is superior even if it comes from one who is inferior to one loves as a worshipper (The silver man's love was far more more powerful and desirable than the gold men's worship).
The look of the video is amazing. The song does seem to stray from what the video is about but still, I love it all in all.

That was absolutely amazing. Incredible work. A lot of people were expecting everyone to burst out into dance. But that's so cliche and already done. that's basically a 2.0 version of the Aaron Smith - Dancing music video. There's a deeper purpose to this video, I don't find it disturbing at all. It's making you expand your thinking. The message in this is a huge metaphor. So there's a small kingdom in space with golden people and a golden queen. A man with two guards, a silver king from the silver kingdom, walk aboard. The queen and king instantly fall in love to make our galaxy, the milky way. The message behind that is so clear. The golden queen could of fallen for anyone of the golden men there. But she didn't, why? She was seeking something more, something different. The silver king was as well. I could make an assumption that the silver kingdom were full of silver women. They crash into the silver kingdom, the king, and his two guards, go out to investigate it. And as soon as the queen saw him, if you look closely, she cracked a smile. The silver king and the golden queen both seeked a different kind of love. And when they finally found it, the result made something beautiful, and that's the true message of this video, and I only watched it once to realize that. Whuuuuttttt, I have beening listening to this song for more than a year and I don't realize that this mv existed? Unbelievable. Where have I been, dangit.
I don't get why some people say this music doesn't relate to the song. Imo this relates to the song wayyy more than the fanmade video. The song is about two people falling in love and feeling like they're under a magic spell. To me, the video is symbolic of that. There are two ships that would have otherwise been alone, and they happen to find each other and fit perfectly together. Both ships consist of the captain/monarch and their subjects (army probably), which, along with the ship, represent the walls each one of them puts up for people not to hurt them. But they both take a chance and let themselves get lost in each other to create something new and beautiful (the galaxy). That's how I saw it anyway.
Honestly it's not that the visuals don't match the lyrics, it's that the visuals don't match the *_music_* it doesn't have the energy; it feels painfully slow paced for music that feels excited and bouncy. It feels like someone just took a screensaver and put music over it.

Why do you have to whine about how much you like the fan made vid? Appreciate good animation and the hard work that they both put into their videos. No doubt, making this video was no walk in the park.
Also, people keep saying the other video fits the song better. But I disagree. The song is obviously about love which FEELS like magic. Not about literal magic.

Mystery Skulls. I love you guys, but I think your music should definitely all be animated. I find that it enhances your music to the point where I buy every song that is animated because I feel the story / music world works so well together with your music! Just my two cents, still loving the music!
