@@RebeccaC-256 nearest spots are Stanley Park, Ramp City, Fleetwood Bowl, Moor Park (Preston) or Junction 4 (Darwen). These are some of the spots in my videos. But it depends what kind of skating you’d like to do. It’s just as much or more fun to skate a curb. Which are everywhere. If you want to get good quick, find other people to skate with. Stanley Park is the best free park in the Blackpool area. Also everyone that skates is really friendly and will help you a lot. Both with inspiration and support. Hope that helps 👍🏻
Love that you slam often, i picked up skating a three weeks ago. i live in the Scottish Borders and the closest parks are edinburgh newcastle and glasgow, all within a hour but not great for daily practice. Luckily a skatepark was built ten miles down the road. Kelso skatepark have a look :D anyway been going daily for about 2 -3 weeks and i have slammed so many times especially trying to push the front side carve high. Defo time to start investing in some pads, I'm off to unit 23 in Glasgow for my Bday next week, biggest indoor park in the UK cant wait, 2 hours to the biggest indoor park i can live wit that :D
Is this park near Leeds? I'm a 50 year old southerner that lives in Sheffield. I was a vert skater in my youth but I only skate around ten or so times a year because of other commitments. That bowl/pool looks like really good fun because it is about lines rather than tricks. I don't really have anyone to skate with because I don't really know anyone in the Yorkshire area. Is there any organised sessions for old fogeys that happen?
@Rick Bailey Thanks, I skated today at a skatepark in Sheffield city centre. I was going to go to an indoor one called onboard skatepark but I decided against it because it seemed like a recruiting tool for a cult. Now that the weather is starting to get better I think I'll take a trip to Leeds to check it out. I skated an indoor one in Leeds called The Works but that was years ago so I don't know if it's even still there.
david Fenske I have several set ups, the one in this video is a Santa Cruz dressen eyes, slick, reissue. 9.8 wide, 14.25 wheelbase I believe. Some people are really fussy about this, but I ride anything between 8.5 to 9.8 wide and anything up to 15 wheelbase. Independent 159 on 8.5 to 9” or 169 above 9”, you need them loose enough so that you can go around a tight corner without kickturning. If you have them to tight it’ll be impossible to skate a bowl / pool properly. Some people ride them ridiculously loose, mine aren’t but I ride really fast and weigh a lot, so I have them tight enough not to speed wobble. Wheels 56mm slimeballs on the video 97a, otherwise I also skate formula 4’s 58mm 99a. Bronson G3 or Raw bearings with spacers, makes them go even faster.
@@rickbailey5320 sweet video! I’ve skated this pool once when the park first open loads of fun. I’m currently at university studying to become a pe teacher... I was beginning to wonder if I would become the only skateboarding PE teacher in the UK as when I was at school the teachers didn’t give off much of a “skateboarder friendly vibe” if you get me haha! I see you also skated concrete waves pool and mount hawke which are some of my favourites! Live in Yorkshire but always searching for corners and bowls !
You r good at skating. Where abouts is some skate parks? I'm terrible lol. Love the way if u fall down hard on the ground u get up and try again.
The parks are located all over the country, where are you located? I’ll tell you where to look👍🏻

If you’re not slamming then you’re not trying 😂.
Get 187 killer pads. The expensive version about £70.
By far the best pads I’ve had 👍🏻
@@rickbailey5320 yep i just checked them out, exactly what I'm looking for thank you !!! 70 just for the knee pads !!
Awesome session. A good reminder that I really need to find some people to skate with. My UA-cam friends are my only skate crew.
Nice run. Scary those wheel bites on top of the coping, maybe add some riser pads to prevent the wheel bite?
Cheers
It’s the coping requiring more lacquer, the truck hung up on the joint.
I ride 1/8 risers already, cause I’m old😂
@@rickbailey5320 Gnarly! Haha, guess I'm older, using 1/2 risers :) But I'm riding bigger wheels 60mm

Rad park mate, sweet line.💪🏻
Thats a damn nice bowl you have there...
It’s only 2 weeks old, travelled 100 miles to skate it. There’s not many proper pools in 🇬🇧
Had to visit before winter sets in 👍🏻
I don't live too far from there! :3
What’s your bowl riding setup? And how loose do you ride your trucks? Thx in advance from a fellow older rider. (48)
