Its an memorable and culturally dynamic Chinese New Year celebration with the amazing programmes. Some of the key specials are,
Lanterns: River Hongbao 2024 features more than 20 enchanting lantern sets that illuminate Gardens by the Bay with their mystical charm. The highlight of the event is the largest-ever lantern display, which consists of a 140-metre long dragon and an 18-metre tall God of Fortune, suspended across two Supertrees at the Supertree Grove12. The dragon symbolises power, strength, and good luck, while the God of Fortune bestows wealth and prosperity to those who worship him. You can also catch the dazzling firecrackers show on selected evenings, which features firecrackers as long as 18 meters in length12. Another impressive lantern set is the “Bountiful Returns”, which depicts the historical development of Chinese New Year markets in Singapore since the 1950s2. This lantern set is curated by the Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall, and it is located at the Dragonfly Lake near the Bayfront MRT exit.
Stage Performances: River Hongbao 2024 offers a variety of dance and musical performances by diverse cultural troupes, Getai singers, and Mediacorp artistes at the Supertree Grove. You can enjoy the traditional and contemporary art forms of different ethnic groups, such as Chinese, Malay, Indian, and Eurasian.
Amusement Rides: River Hongbao 2024 provides fun and excitement for all ages with various amusement rides and carnival games at The Meadow. You can take flight aboard majestic flying elephants and experience a sweeping panoramic view of the enchanting gardens from lofty heights.
