Or....if you really want to be a flight "nurse" and get free training and paid for it along with National EMT certifications, (which is needed anyway to be a flight nurse) you can always join the military! 😅
PJs- Air Force
SARC or Corpsman Marine Recon- Navy
68W Combat Medic or SF 18D- Army
Rescue Swimmers- Coast Guard
Then go through the military's own nursing school or get out then go through a bridge program to be an RN....again all paid for 🤷♂️ Then you can get on with a flight med company easy with your certifications and RN degrees and years experience from the military.
This info may help those who see the video on the many options available within the field. 🤙
No offense man, but people train for years just to get into those spec op position in the military. Becoming a PJ or SARC is a feat in itself. There are easier ways to become a flight nurse my man lol. I’m sure those folks are well qualified though
@@Natedogmora oh absolutely true!But I never said it would be easy. 😅 SARC alone is a 2 year pipeline. I said it would be free and would get a civilian job easily with all that training. That's what I meant by all of that. 🤷♂️ It's just an option for those with no nursing background.
If you want to be flight nurse be an SMT not a SARC.

Either way, all options will provide valuable skill that will add to becoming an RN and even a flight nurse. Of course, as a SARC you'll see more of combat than search and rescue. I suppose it's more up to the person seeking to enlist and their overall goals. SMT would probably be the best option to get in, get trained and get out then use the GI Bill and get your ADN/BSN. Then just live life or go back in, again it's whatever a person may want, some like to shoot and blow shit up 🤷♂️.

The one requirement apart from CCRN to get into Flight Nursing with the Royal Flying Doctor Service in Australia includes midwifery ...I.e as you might call it OB nurse, as complicated pregnancies within rural communities remain a common presentation
My boyfriend is a fixed wing pilot. He really wants an add on rotor license. I’m third semester nursing school & just landed a nursing school job in the ED. We always joke about teaming up in the future. Starting a search & rescue or volunteering for transports.

I'm an RN, CFRN and CEN. Have been a flight nurse for 12 years. Started out in the ER, was there for only 2 years and then transferred to helicopters. You can't do that anymore. Best career ever..but remember, it is very dangerous. Something you have to think about it..you will lose friends. And yes, we are adrenaline junkies. We call it "Trauma Junkie", though

I'll stay down and work the emergencies on the ground level..Me and that Helicopter ain't gonna get along well😂😂😂😂😂
Why wouldn't you get along with a helicopter? I worked the ground for 27 years, as a Paramedic and RN. The last 3 years on a helicopter and occasionally on fixed wing. I typically feel safer in the air than on the ground. Ground ambulances operate at high speed on icy roads, in traffic, and often caregivers have no seat belts.
