Current politics is based on impersonal systems, like making alliances for financial gain, allowing businesses to invest in a foreign country, etc. regardless of how any individuals involved feel about each other or the role they are forced to play. All that to say it doesn't recognize the value and worth of a human being. These teachings, as I'm writing this James is talking about courage, do recognize the true worth of people and that is what a society should be built on. Had to comment again, this video is amazing!
❤ your teachings touch my soul .I feel blessed and privileged to hear your teachings as an 81 yearold I wish I'd heard these things as a child .I have a total of 24 children plus all their families I am blessed beyond measure Thank you for sharing with me
This is an incredible lecture with amazing implications for a society that lives with these teachings. Thank you for making this available to watch and learn from. These teachings will hopefully form the basis for a return to a better way of life. They are dangerous in the sense that they are not compatible with the European system of economics especially, which is what everything is based on for their society, and with the strength of land back and other movements will hopefully come to the forefront of a new world.
What a beautiful and deep teaching, reminds me of the lessons my father tried to impart to our family; in another part of the world from a very different tradition. Thank you 🙏🏾
Wonderful! I'm just learning about the native American culture, and am humbled and grateful as I see the depth and wisdom and love so strongly in your presentation. The teaching that healing yourself helps heal your ancestors struck a strong chord! Healing myself solely for me is more difficult, so I thank you for this insight.
Practicing that unconditional love for so many years would make sure you developed the kind of mindset necessary to be a "leader" or someone who has the wisdom to guide people. I love this video so much!
I really wish i could come there. I live in ohio, completely disconnected from my people and my own land...i wish i would have moved west instead of East....
I have ancestors who lived up in Red Lake area back in the 1800's .... family name was Red Birds in the Willow and their symbol was red wings. I'm doing a family lineage and appreciate any help finding them. Thank you. Miigwich
Thank you for this content, I would like to hear more regarding Ogichada. Am I correct to say that in order to be able to be generous, one would first have to be successful. You can’t give what you don’t have. I think this is so neat, motivating success and productivity with status based on giving and showing generosity. I would love to understand property in Anishinabe culture. Was their private property rights?
Note for around 1:07:35 -- plenty of human beings aren't hardwired to speak. Human neurologies vary as broadly as our skin colors do (aka neurodiversity). We aren't all wired for speech, and nonspeakers are no less human than speaking people are. With love, a nonspeaker
It's crazy how many teachings were taken from the Oceti Sakowin when they took our land. I know it was because we forgave them and wanted to live in peace, but there's no mention these teaching and ceremonies came from Lakotas, Dakotas.

Ojibwa people should love their language. I would like to watch videos in Ojibwa language.
