You know, this song is called Daedalus, and the arms company is called Icarus
The story of Daedalus and Icarus exists
Icarus flew too close to the sun and melted their wax wings
I refuse to think it's a coincidence
Also, Daedalus built a maze under the demand of King Minos of Crete to imprison the Minotaurus. Then King Mios threw him and Icarus into the maze. Daedalus made those wings to escape, but Icarus got too close to of the sun and fell.

"oh cool a nice, relaxing missio--"

OH GOD OH FUCK WHY ARE THERE 57 DIFFERENT RAILGUNS AND 800 GUNS STRAPPED TO THIS PLANE
@@alexsabau5942 side note, flying this plane is basically your gateway drug into gunpods. also it comes in pink!
@@dsdy1205 It requires very, VERY, liberal use of the AOA limiter though. It turns so sluggishly and it is extremely hard to actually get any of the guns on target if you're not flipping, spinning, and cartwheeling through the air... Which I suppose is what Frost was doing, throwing railgun shots "behind" her in the middle of turns, and spraying bullets and cannon-shells everywhere.
Paint me like one of your French girls
@@stevemc6010 as a Frenchman, the Rafale M has to be added in this game!
I'm bad with accents, she had a French accent and I thought it was Russian.
As a 14 year jazz bassist, I was in heaven hearing the bassist jamming at 0:54. Very nice use of the double bass here!
This is one of the most underrated tracks in the game and I wish it got more love. The start with the throat singing and bass sets the mysterious tone of the boss fight very well, and 1:37 means totally different things depending on which fight it plays in. At least during my playthrough, 1:37 played for me when Galaxy identified the name of the SPEAR for the first time, so it felt like a hopeful edge during that fight. During the final fight with Frost, when this played again, 1:37 played when Frost reveals the identities of Comic and Dip. It's a hopeless, somber tune in that context, as all the bounty hunters know who you are. Even if Frost dies, she's settled the score in her eyes.
"It won't be just me, in the end... Mister Kennedy. Major London. The senator's son and the disgraced squadron leader."
Bravo on this OST.
When i played first time m16 1:37 plays during Frost's dialogue "Cascadia is toast"
in both scenes you mention, they are revealing personal details of the enemy
intentional???????!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah, that means that the Federation and the bounty hunters can hunt them down more easily.
@@souvikrc4499 if the fed survive after what crimson 1 did to Presidia, they are screw when the world is now going against them but many mercenaries are going to hunt them down and will be difficult to have a normal life.
This one's great. Combines the piano of midnight light (being the mission before the fight), some themes that all the boss tracks share that evoke danger, and the climbing intensity of a multistage boss fight. This is one of my favorites on the soundtrack!
Also Bass solos are rare, and It's great to see such an instrument get it's own time to shine.
Kudos for picking up the leitmotifs in there. :)
I'm working on a video explaining all the leitmotifs in the game and what they are attached to. Stay tuned.
@@JosePavli you and 8bitmusictheory should do an interview of sorts. He's covered the music of Ace Combat.

That one is definitly a cut above the rest of the OST..... And the others OST were already at a level worthy of praise.

In the greek mithology, Daedalus was the architect who build the Crete's labyrinth for the King Minos, plus, he was the father of Icarus.
Nice little curiosity with the name of this track xD
Frost flew too close to Monarch and paid the price by getting her metal wings blown off... Seems familiar
What a crazy mixture of genres! You absolutely kicked ass throughout this whole soundtrack! If this game gets a sequel or anything added onto it... I hope you're right there with it. Congratulations on a great release!
This whole mission gave me a lot of Metal Gear vibes; Midnight Light is the “sneaking” theme while Daedalus is the “alert” theme.
Also, mercenary oil rigs where war crimes get committed on.
I love that the devs took the time to add the PW-MK1 actually escaping the platform. Something else that I find even more interesting is, based off of the compass on your HUD, the PW-MK1 actually heads the way Sawaiiki would be from the place and heading it took off from.
Just in case you don’t know, Sawaiiki was a Federation state that Icarus Armories also worked out of. And that’s where the PW-MK1 was evacuated to before being moved to the Federation Core States to be completed.
@winterfrostarian just goes to show that not just Ace Combat knows how to do details like that.
Makes sense, since when you attack the Sawaiiki airship port, you can hear Crimson Team members send the PW-MK1 off in a hurry, as Monarch "followed them"
lol these tracks just keep getting better.
Love the vaguely throat-singing elements thrown into this one.
The Spear was the tutorial for the bullcrap you'll have to deal with with the PW-MK1
That freaking railgun cluster fire man. I don't know how I dodged as many shots as i did and survived.
this moment when you realize why "Hostile air target count" was that high
I love the random bass in the middle, reminds me of a Cowboy Bepop song.
This battle is memorable to me from both from how much of a shock it was to encounter, and from having to genuinely outmanuver that damn thing without AoA, which I never learned at that time, and admittedly never used it until I got the mk1 out of a mix in frustration and just not liking how it feels on most jets

2:42 Cut to the the Camera is locked back to the PW's center hull, facing the engine. The Rails unleash a shotgun blast of rounds at PW, destroying their own interceptors. The PW narrowly dodges all the shots, then flies inches from the waves and in-between the ship, dodging more rounds including CWIS guns, and missile barrages.
2:52 The PW Fires into the Camera . Cut to Black.
The Railgun Fire lights up the darkness and unveils the title, followed by a terrible orange lightning storm.

@milesellis4534 Bro, I did just that on my first run, not suspecting a thing.
