    I'm so excited you're making this! It was supposed to be served at a friend's recent wedding but the caterers just plopped a maraschino cherry by the cake slices. Then they were eating it on an Edwardian show I was watching and I NEED to taste this.

      What????? That is so sad that they called it Cherries Jubilee! It's an insult to the dessert...LOL! Well here is the classic recipe and its SO GOOD!!! Give it a try and if you do, please let me know what you think. You do need to taste the real thing!!!!! 💖🍸

    I've always included arrowroot or cornstarch, to thicken it JUST a bit, and make it shiny.

    Hey Jill, this is another great recipe! Interesting to learn about Chef Escoffier and his advocacy for the average person! Wonder what things would be like if he didn't speak up :) Love your work Jill, and keep it going. Have a great week ahead!

      Yep, it amazed me that chefs never catered to the average person. But that's food history for you! So glad he decided to make the move! Thank you so much for your kind words and support!!!! Have the BEST week!!💖🍸

    Awesome recipe!
    I have never used a micro plane for vesting citrus--only a cheese grater--maybe I should ask Santa for a microplane for Christmas, haha.
    Thanks for the tip about not boiling the cherries--don't want to make a milkshake.
    I have that EXACT same brand of kirsch! I used it once to make a black forest cherry cake.
    I agree: if you are going through the trouble, go for the good ice cream.
    I am sure that you could impress friends with this recipe. Thanks for sharing!

    • @yesterkitchen
      @yesterkitchen  5 років тому

      Awwww...thank you!! A micro plane makes such perfect shreds! I use mine all the time for so many things!
      As long as you have the Kirsch......make it! And Cheese Fondue! LOL!!! Great way to use it!I am not a fan of it on it's own, but it's a great enhancement!
      Thanks so much Parnell!! Go impress your friends! LOL! 💖🍸
