Too bad the end result isn't :/ Toriyama did him dirty, though I think the fans were also complaining a little. The manga said Gohan was going to be taking over as the main hero, but I've seen it go both ways. Something something Toriyama like "it just didn't feel like it would work this way." One of the many reasons this is my least favorite arc/villain.
@@Valientlink I never cared for Gohan much as a character. He never truly earns any of his power or success. He just gets plot deviced and plot armored his way up to everyone else's level. He's born with convenient rage boost powers and never earns it through training. And Toriyama just didn't seem to have a real idea of what to with him.

Majin Buu is so funny! He is a big child. There is so much development for Buu in the future I’m looking forward to her reacting to it. Gohan’ Supreme Kai outfit with the Z sword is so underrated. I like how deticated Gohan is to mastering the Z sword and getting stronger.

Crazy thing about the people, the earth dragon balls can't bring back people that died once before (like Goku before). So everyone killed by Nappa, Cell, and Vegeta earlier that were brought back, can't be brought back again using them. When you think about it, that's actually a lot of deaths that don't really get talked about. It's a really good thing they have Namek
Technically these are "New" Dragon Balls, Dende had to remake them after Piccolo and Kami fused. So the rules for them changed but I'm not sure if they ever really went over how that changed things.

In the original Japanese version, the reason why Trunks and Goten were so hyped and started paying Goku a lot more respect by calling him "sir" was because they saw him turn super saiyan 3 and were super impressed. They thought he was a coward and hid away when Vegeta fought buu, which is why they disrespected him in the beginning. But after the ssj 3 transformation, they know they were wrong and changed their view and attitude towards Goku.
I don't know why this seems to be completwly lost in translation in the Eng version.
Was it fixed in Kai?
@@fynnthefox9078 im not sure about the Eng dubbed version, but it was always consistent between DBZ and Kai in the Japanese version. Actually, this is not the only part that got changed. Many other lines from different scenes in the Eng dub version also got changed and deviate from their original meaning, i guess it was probably done deliberately to make it more culturally relatable to the local audience in English spekaing countries lol

Haha when I was a kid my best friend and I mastered it, like we could do it perfectly, but it never worked for some reason. I think my power level was way higher than his so our fusion wouldn’t be compatible.

Definitely not it. He uses much more energy transforming to SSJ3 than instant transmission, which he can do without even transforming. It was most probably translation error, or Akira just forgot (as usual) that Goku could do it at that point in time. And we all know he's gonna spend even more energy before the "30 minutes" are up.

@@ALIKIN12345 Again, wrong. Goku needs to lock on to someone's Ki to use instant transmission, Bulma's parents don't have enough high Ki for him do detect. As I said, Akira Toriyama probably forgot about Goku's teleporting abilities at that point, or simply did it for plot reasons, at this point it's anyone's guess.

Before that point I think they thought he was kind of a charlatan or a phony because he wasn't there to help Vegeta against Buu. But now they've seen how strong and brave he actually is, Goku got their respect back.

@Wendell's Wise Reaction he fought Vegeta, got knocked out, woke up, TP to the lookout, realized Majin Buu was gonna destroy the Dragon Radar and then TP'd to buu to stall him. By the time Goku reverted to base form, he already had 30ish minutes left on Earth, and he knew that because he felt it. Only reason he TP'd back to kami's lookout was to get away from buu
Buu trying to get a girl was so funny. I thought for sure she would've kissed him when he changed his face. His body was still the same so I guess I understand.

If I must be chocolate I would love to be a kit kat bar, give me a break. I love to see Gohan redeeming himself, beautiful. Maybe Goku didn't think to instant transmission to Trunks or trusted him to bring back to radar. He did say he shouldn't be here and it's their world but he did go and stall Buu and Badibi. It's going to get crazy.
I like how Piccolo asked Goku if he's wagering the safety of the world on children as if he forgot that Goku wasn't successful with Gohan. He had a point about not always relying on him even though he's the strongest (and the main protagonist).

The dub actually misrepresented Trunks reaction here. He didn't think it looked tough, he thought it looked ridiculous and lame. And to be fair, most people in the show think so xD (Piccolo, Vegeta...).

I think Goku could've convinced Buu stopped killing now if he had tried. He probably tried to save energy and overall time by not uses instant transmission. Also 30mins in DBZ could be awhile lol
Of all the villains I witnessed in DBZ, Majin Buu may perhaps be the most relatable villain of all in my humble sole opinion.

I think you guys over estimate the instant transmission Technique. Instant transmission take focus on a persons particular power level. If that person if far enough away from Goku it makes it hard for him to lock on to them and on top of that difficult for him to focus. It’s not as instant as it seems which you will see later on if Goku can’t focus at all like I’m high intensity situations he won’t be able to lock on to anyone at all. And the technique fails. Or in situations where he’s just exhausted like with trunks maybe he could’ve went to trunks and brought him back yeah but I’m not so sure he could’ve. Man was so exhauste. He needs time to rest any strain isn’t on his body it’s on his soul. He’s literally a spirit with a physical form.

Fan theory. Goku couldn't instant transmition to Capsule Corp initially due to having nobody to lock onto, so had to send Trunks then abuse his temporary body for other world SSJ3 power to match with Buu.
He then couldn't use it after the battle as his energy was completely sapped, so was too difficult too lock on and get to Trunks without wasting remaining energy (and time).

Goku's didn't use instant transmission because after SSJ3 any energy he used would have depleted his last remaining time. But on the other hand if he'd used it before he met with buu to get the dragon ball it would have been a better outcome

You know, I don't believe a character's mistakes or bad decisions count as plot holes. They probably think back about what they could have done better just like we do. These are not perfect characters-they're flawed, like us.
Also, I believe Goku doesn't want to be too involved with Earth's dire matters, so he's allowing others to do most of the work to save the Earth. If they fail, he'll get to see them in the afterlife anyways... But there is one more flaw with that train of thought, unbeknownst to Goku. I won't pin point what it is, so you'll have to continue watching the series!!
So this is my only theory on the "Goku not teleporting to get Trunks" plot hole. Goku knows he's not going to be around. In some sense, he wants the responsibility to fall on the youth because Vegeta, and as far as he knows, Gohan, are gone so who else is left? It's a stupid decision but also makes sense in Goku's weird little way.
It's like setting a deadline for children and being like, "Hey I'm leaving at 6am to go on this trip, so set your alarms and be ready to go or you're staying here with your mom." It's forcing Trunks to get his butt in gear because in less than an hour,. they can't fall back on Goku's powers anymore. And Trunks did volunteer to get the radar and be back in time so Goku is keeping him to his word, regardless of the consequences.

Goku not teaching his son's instanttransmission is a plot because both Gohan and Gotan could have used that move on multiple occasions
Goku says it's not his place to kill Buu because he's dead.
But he was ok with choosing to stay dead to train with King Kai and then be wished back to fight Vegeta/Nappa.

Might be wrong but they might have purposely cut new episodes for a year after Vegeta's fight due to 9/11 and all the destruction of buildings and cities. The previous 2 years there was no delay, they packed it all between September and December.

I know why they didn't, because there would be no story, but I'm surprised someone didn't think of using the last wish to seal Buu back up again. At least have Shenron tell them Buu cannot be contained by any means but the spell used to contain him.
It would probably be impossible for shenron to do it anyways considering how strong buu is
If Frieza came to Earth, or the Androids or Cell were real, yes we are screwed, but the future episodes will show why we have a better chance of surviving Buu.
