Easy Dog Confidence Training Exercises You Can Do At Home

In this video I show you some easy dog confidence training exercises you can do right at home. These fun and easy games will help your dog gain more confidence and become a less fearful dog. Building our dogs confidence is the best gift that we can give to our dogs. Many dogs, like many people, can be reserved, shy and sometimes scared. To prevent these undesired behaviors you should incorporate these easy and fun confidence training exercises into your dogs schedule.
Training and socialization will help your dog boost its confidence. The more you work your dog the more confident they will become as they learn what we are expecting out of them. Making these training sessions fun and in our own home to begin with will help your dog build his confidence. Once they have mastered these training exercises in your home, you can move to more challenging training exercises outside and in unfamiliar situations. The more exposure we give our dogs the more likely our dog will become super confident.
Take note that when you are introducing a new game or activity to your puppy, make sure that you motivate them by doing those activity and not forcing them. You can motivate them by making them feel that they will get something in return, like a treat when they finish the activity. Some dogs love kibbles but some prefer special treats of higher value to your dog.

Make sure to give your dog high valued rewards when confidence training. In order to convince your dog to explore the fear or trigger we must encourage them with something of high value. Make these confidence training exercises enjoyable and pleasant for your dog and in no time they will be more confident and less fearful.

I absolutely love the confidence training you do for your puppies. As you said it works for older dogs too. I've been using as many of these things as I can with my shelter dog and my grand daughter's dog that was not socialized at all as a pup and it's making a difference. Anything new used to be "Eeeeek, what is this scary thing in my space" and a lot of barking that kept up as long as the "scary" thing was there. Now after these confidence exercises I get "Eeeeek what is this scary thing in my space" a few barks then oh I'd better sniff it and see what it is followed by it didn't hurt me I'm OK" and that is a huge improvement especially since it's only been a month that I've been using these exercises and very low key only once or twice a week.
