Brian, I just discovered your channel the other day, and I've been watching the Smuggler Room videos. I think your work is awesome, so creative. You really had me cheering when I saw you decorating the inside top of the remote droid display, an area a lot of people won't even see. But some will.
I haven't bought this particular one from him but working with Trent is wonderful. I bought one of his kits some time back and he was great. (The USPS lost it and he was willing to replace it, turned out to be unnecessary because they finally found it but he was a top notch guy) Once I received my kit, it required minimal cleanup and went together smoothly. I'd DEFINITELY buy from him again.
7:50 Maybe you can build a "Roamer-6 Breath Mask", to remember to wear some sort of mask - in a smugglers way - when using the paint booth. All of your work is very inspiring, keep it up!
There is a white plastic dish and spoon that sits on that shelf in the Millennium Falcon that bounces up and down wildly as the Falcon takes off from Moss Eisley when C-3PO says "oh my! I had forgotten how much I hate space travel. " You got to include that. I always enjoyed that dancing dish because it's so obvious there is a technician behind the bench moving it with his hand.
Oh, that is the *coolest* thing. The recent Star Wars VR games made me fall in love with these lil droids, I gotta get one when it comes back in stock.
I've been lusting after Trents Remote on the RPF for so long. It is a work of art and your display is totally doing it justice. The detail and depth are fantastic. All of your work is inspiring but this is one of my fave builds so far. It's going to be so good to sit down and soak up that room when it's done. Although something tells me you'll never really be done
“Once you get the hang of it...” Almost as if some sort of training is required 😉. Great build! Looking forward to more episodes from this corner of the room...
Very cool addition to your collection Brian. Your display space is so perfect for it. I think you could add a small computer fan to keep the remote turning. Because seeing it turning while floating is the ultimate display scenario!
Thank you! As a matter of fact the ball actually does spin on it's own. I gave it a little help in the video to get it going, but it actually will start to spin slowly and build up to a nice smooth pace. It has something to do with the magnetic field, but it will constantly spin indefinitely.
Man when you do these room builds it takes me back to the beginning and I will always favor these over props any day....But then again this was sort of both. But I love the feeling of this video ALOT. Great job! I have to get my hands on some of those individually lits leds. The rooms coming along. SMOKIN!!
That's a pretty cool prop. I still haven't decided which ship I want to do as a theme for my own room build but you have been an inspiration for my own projects
What an awesome build! Had a smile on my face the entire time. Trooper Trent must be sold out for the time being... looking forward to picking up a kit when they're back in stock.
Glad you enjoyed it! Trent said that he makes these in batches, so keep an eye out. You might also have a look at his post over at the replica prop forum. He posts updates there. Here is the link: www.therpf.com/forums/threads/floating-jedi-training-remote-builders-kit.304743/
Am I alone in being more impressed with the custom-built display than I am with the remote prop itself? Tremendous work, love it!! Edit: Just to be clear, in no way am I subtracting from troopertrent's kit. It looks amazing and is on my radar for a future build myself. I apologize for my inital awkward wording.
Another FABULOUS video Brian. This is a wonderful addition to the basement! f you are so inclined I'd really like to see a video on led lights, led strips & Uno and making them all do what you want them to do. Not sure if you want to go there, but it's something that I think would intrigue us all who follow you and the channel. Keep it up!
Hi Jason! Thank you so much. Yes, yes indeed on the lighting and LEDs. We mentioned many months back that we would do an electronic series, and I apologize that we have not gotten that done. It's totally on the list and we want to do it right. I will do my best to make that a priority!
VERY COOL Brian, it's looking really good in there! May I suggest a small rubber tube attached to a fan that blows air on the training remote to make it move on its own. Just so you don't have to reach in and try to spin it!
Thank you! Actually, the ball spins on it's own. In the video I spun it to get it going faster for the video, but once the ball is floating it slowly starts to spin, and once it is going for a couple minutes it moves at a totally smooth pace. The way it's spinning at the end of the video is the speed it runs normally. Such a cool prop!
Such an awesome build....so any parts to love (concept, trooper trents masterpiece, showing us where you got your greeblies, the lights....so very awesome...especially the arduino ones, love the weathering). And from a video making POV,it’s masterful how you did all this in 14 min
It's looking awesome Brian! You make all of this look so simple. Thanks for keeping me dreaming about my own room and what I might want to add to it. Now I only hope it's gonna be big enough for all the stuff I want to put in it! lol
Awesome Jedi training display case build !!! , it looks awsome !!! , can't wait for your next room build , !!! , ... built by something , made from nothing !!! , ☺😀☺
dang this is awesome, so fun to watch this channel, remember when you only had a few hundred subs and now closing in on 40k :D keep it up man, well deserved :D
Brian! OMG man this turned out SOOO good! I'm always amazed at your creativity and ingenuity! This seriously made my day. Thanks for sharing! Dont forget to get a battery backup for that thing! lol
Funny enough my friend, that little ball spins all on it's own. I helped it get going in the video, but it actually does that naturally. Brian, my friend, you have outdone yourself. Every aspect of this build is perfection. I love the Arduino LEDs in the lid (headed to Kamui’s channel next to see how it’s done, thanks). I’m curious about that really cool cutter you used on the PVC pipes...do share. When you did that first wide shot of the booth, I was amazed at how small this box appears in this space. Hopefully the Guild (Patreon) community continues to grow. Much love.
Thank you so much Deanna, you are so great to us!! So glad you like the project. That PVC Cutter is a "Pipe Cutter" and they come in several different types. Mine is a little hard on the hands, but I have used one of these. www.amazon.com/Zantle-Ratchet-type-Cutting-Plumbing-Plumbers/dp/B07T2YG963/ref=sr_1_2?crid=1SUTW1JUUAO5&dchild=1&keywords=pvc+pipe+cutters&qid=1614804662&sprefix=PVC+Pipe+%2Caps%2C211&sr=8-2 If you search for PVC Pipe Cutter on Amazon you will find all types!
Looks like you should put a lil more light behind the training ball so you can see the bottom of the ball where it's floating. It looks like it's sitting on a roticery..
Looks great. Fun fact is the part you used from the rear projection TV sounds SCI-FI if you know what it is. It is the magnetic deflection coil for the electron gun. You can find them in the backs of all CRT monitors.
Cool project! Nicely done! Have you thought about using a computer fan to spin the orb? You can control it with Arduino. With two fans you could spin it both directions like in New Hope.
Thank you! The ball actually spins on its own. The magnetic field moves it on it's own. I helped it along in the vide, but if you just wait a few minutes it rotates perfectly without assistance!
I do not advise taking apart old CRT sets unless you are sure about what you are doing. There are plenty of dangerous components in there including the capacitor which is a shock hazard even if the set has not been plugged in for some time. I do not know if this is true of all CRT type sets but it is something to consider.
Also, the three small CRTs, behind each lens, are highly pressurized and can explode. I’ve very carefully taken one of these apart. I watched several videos to learn how to ‘safely’ disassemble them. Still, I wouldn’t recommend doing it.
It is certainly a good point. You do need to take caution when working with these. This particular unit did not have issues, but this would be true of any disassemble of electronics.
So cool! Have you considered using an ESP8266/ESP32 for controlling your LEDs? Generally much cheaper than Arduino, plus you can control your lights over wifi (from e.g. your phone or PC). With firmware like WLED there's no programming involved at all.
That music... And that Build... It looks great man, I mean... From wich Spaceship did you steal it?! If I wouldn't follow this channel and would have seen it, I would have believed it is from one of the Star Wars Movies... Or TV Shows.
Just watching this…again…for the 97th(?) time. You mention using the negatives of other parts in your builds. Do you actually design the negative parts with future use in mind? If so, then you’ve just elevated yourself to Jedi Master status, in my mind.
Am curious-What's the steel and black rubber grip (?) piece that's set inside the right side of the display cabinet? Is that found, or a leftover scratchbuild scrap? Looks like it has a keychain on its side? Great build as always!
What do you use for that black dry erase board? I wanted a big place to plan out projects, but a white board just doesn’t fit in a darker themed Den of Antiquities. Great build btw!
This is so awesome. Your room is gonna look better than Galaxy’s Edge!
Brian, I just discovered your channel the other day, and I've been watching the Smuggler Room videos. I think your work is awesome, so creative. You really had me cheering when I saw you decorating the inside top of the remote droid display, an area a lot of people won't even see. But some will.

Mine too!
Oh, that is the *coolest* thing. The recent Star Wars VR games made me fall in love with these lil droids, I gotta get one when it comes back in stock.
That tip, spray paint in hot water, was new to me, I just tried it and works wonderfully.
Amazing results.
Thank you very much Sir !!!
Awesome! Yeah, that was a game changer for me too!
I love this Trooper_Trent kit.... I built mine and I look at it every day under my TV. The instructions are fantastic and easy to follow.

YES!!!! That's what it's all about!!!
This build is AMAZING! The training remote is super cool on its own, but your case shows it off so well. Fantastic job!
Thank you very much!
I love the idea of having a collection room where everything is in situ. Such a great idea!
Thank you! "in situ" is a perfect way to describe it. LOVE IT!!!
Another awesome build Brian. I can attest to how nice Trent’s remote is. So unique and simply awesome. Love mine but I love how you display yours.
Awesome! Thank you! Yeah, it really is such a great prop!
A great looking display for an awesome replica.
Thank you Wayne! We appreciate your constant support my friend . . . you've been there since the beginning!
You never cease to amaze me with your ability to nail the Star Wars aesthetic. Well done, Brian!
Thank you my friend! Can't wait for next week bro!

LOL sorry Durand, not my intention. Now it's just time for you to build your own.
Another great build. The detail on the kit and enclosure look awesome together.

Great build love the concept of it just floating in a random compartment great idea
Awesome, glad you like that. The compartment areas just seemed like a win!
I can't tell you how much I love this channel!
Thank you so much! That means the world to us!
Awesome as usual! Glad to see you back in the room build. It has been a long while! Thx Brian! Keep up the great work!

It spins on its own due to a controlled rotation of the magnetic field.;)
