I know it's a year old now, but this is the best most useful vid I've seen on the a6700 vid settings, thankyou. I have a growing YT channel, but being a qualified photographer (I'm talking college - MANY years ago when we used chemicals!) I also enjoy photography as a hobby so the a6700 was a natural choice as a hybrid camera. I tend to have frame rates with DJI drone footage and the DJI Pocket 3 as a B cam at 30 fps, so being in the UK set my a6700 at 30fps because a lot of the higher frame rates on DJI stuff is only in multiples of 30. What's your view on this? OK to mix frame rates in DR or better to stick with one that is divisible? Also intermittently I keep getting the 'NTSC' nag screen on my a6700 - know of any way to stop that? Anyway - great vid bud! 🖖
Why would one want to embedd lut while shooting in slog
Hi..Gerard...recently I bought A6700...been surfing the web on set-up of the camera for photo & video...saw a lot of youtube videos but yours are by far superb to me. Thanks for the really useful vid Gerard 👍🏼. I'm just trying to understand why it's better to shoot in a LOG profile when baking a LUT into the recorded footage? Isn't shooting in a LOG profile only useful when recording it as the LOG footage so that you have the extra dynamic range flexibilty when editing in post-production? Thanks
You do lose the flexibility to change the exposure before the Transformation LUT, but you get the same dynamic range. My LUTS you have a little bit extra room in the shadows and highlights to push or pull, so flexibility for contrast after the transformation LUT

2.4GHz and 5GHz. You can find it in menu/network/Wi-Fi/Wi-Fi Frequency Band
I am using the a6700 with sigma prime lenses….i record in slog 3 iso800 but my videos look pretty noisy all the time (especially in lowlight) although the multi meter is set to +1.5….

A few reasons, some times you’ll need to go above +2 and pull the expose down in post to hid the noise
Don’t be afraid to go as high as 2500 iso to get a good exposure

Yes you can just drag them on the log footage or look at the time stamps to apply the LUT to the footage
I see 800 iso a lot on video tutorials for a6700, in day time (shooting log 3) shouldn’t I lower the iso?
Nah it’s not a good idea you lose the dynamic range. Best to use a ND filter or crack that shutter

Hi ! (from France^^) Thanks for the vidéo (Part1 & 2) Help me a lot :) How to do Instagram Reels videos that require 30fps? Because with the A6700, I made a video in 25fps. On my Mac, the rendering is perfect but on reels, the video jerks because it is not in 30fps as Instagram recommends. How do you make your reels? Thanks in advance
Mmmmm that’s really weird, I use 25 FPS for my reels and works fine. Maybe try the project at 30fps or 24fps and see how that goes
Please talk about embedded LUT
Can you get away with shooting slog3 in 8bit or do you not recommend at all? For purposes of transferring video to phone/editing software, 10bit is really not feasible. What do you recommend in this case?
Nah, don't shoot slog 3 in 8 bit unless you're planning on doing a black and white color grade.

Not on my one, have to update the firmware and set it to high temp. I recently shot a few weddings for video with no issues

Hey man , I just got this beast camera but I can’t transfer 10 bit video to my iPhone lol so I have to use 8 bit, is there a way I can get 10 bit on my computer?
I’ve never edited the videos on my phone but if you film in 10bit you’ll get 10bit on the computer

Some software won’t handle 10 bit. Davinci Resovle won’t unless you have the paid version.

It’s more of a walk tru while the guide on my online store is a note book you can always come back to quickly while your in the field
Hello, what is the difference between going in menu nad Log Shooting vs. using picture profile with slog3?
Not much really they just left the PP option for people who prefer using it rather than the new menu

V60 is enough
