Hey everyone, I had a few minutes to work on my TF2 - "The Drug Truck" - and figured I would flip the camera on for your amusement! Maybe I can help someone that needs to swap a motor out ..
***** And too think I had the best lloking wethered and beaten body in rc trail trucks.I think you win.Especially when you were on the trail and your bed of the truck came off and you were like I don't need this anyway hahaha.Great video.Im not sure if I should go brushed or stay brushless for my 1/14 scale truck?
Bro, your channel is becoming the most viewed of all time for me and my son. Teaching us even the basic mechanical thing it's awesome. Keep up with this idea and may I suggest to show everything related the maintenance, this is helping everyone out here. Kudos to you medic!
I love your videos man!!! I actually just recently go into R/C-ing after watching some of the R/C Adventures videos, I had no idea how awesome these trucks are. In the last 3 months I've bought a VXL slash 2WD and an SCX10 Honcho that I have been modifying like crazy, I'll post pics when it done, its all thanks to you and your videos, you've taught me much my brother and I'm now addicted lol Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us all. God bless
Awesome brother like always watch every video ! I have food poisoning so can't do anything besides lay in bed and I'm just laying here watching old overkill build series ! It's better than watching actual tv rather watch your vids
I do like to solder my motor but for a quick change out in the field I like the quick connect/disconnect method. I may not be a master or even a intermediate guru such as yourself but it works for me and my HPI sprint/drift '69 Camero, not to mention my ECX torment truck I've gone through a few motors with it trying to jump my truck and a cop car..he told me to do it hahah, soldering isn't a good skill of mine so that's why I dig the quick connect/disconnect set up (especially in my HPI) as always thank you for the great video and have a great day/night. \m/
Great video medic! i have the same setup with Tekin FXR and the 35 turn motor for some reason The Trail Finder 2 you have to reverse the polarity really glad that you pointed that out your video
Dude I learn so much from you. Thanks for this channel, it's really gotten me into R/C. Probably getting my first (Gelande II perhaps?) soon. Cheers from NFLD.
09:41 this is actually true for brush-less motors as well, swap ~any~ two wires and you've reversed the coil phasing, I usually make an x with the outer wires, cause it looks pretty. however if you have a timing / sensor wire your controller may or may not be happy with that, so it's really just about whether you have a sensor or not, as abusing the timing system is a great way to fry a controller. but for sensor-less brush-less motors, go bananas there is no timing and no sensitive electronics to break. useful tip for those using multi-motor position 2wd cars, specifically.
Loctite (tm). Tip. Hold rotational pressure on a grubscrew or stud, then gradually increase the torque in slight increments, rather than just heaving on it from initial. It'll put up less of a fight this way, and less likely strip the hex or peel the thread. Another safe variant is pipe sealant. Loctite (tm) 567 is great as it never really hardens. Being like plasma, it absorbs vibrations, so screws don't rattle out. Avoid loctite (tm) 577 which sets like glass and requires heat (think oxy acetylene here) to melt the product. It also smells just like swamp-ass. People who live in tropical regions will know what I'm talking about.
hey medic just watches this with my 2 1/2 year old son and had to watch it again coz he didnt take his eyes off it and would not let me see the phone he loves ur videos as much as me when eva there a roll over its ohno ohno
Me muusie I saw your comment. He did mention the balance plug for some reason but he did not plug in the balance connector. Yes you are right the balance plug is for charging.
i love the videos way better then t.v bullshit dam i have been watching your video's now for almost five year's glad to see how big this channel has come glad to see r.c explode an all the diffrent people doing it ....
I would recommend using just plain white printer paper because some times business cards can be different thicknesses. Just cut a 1/2" wide and 3 to 5 inches long (depending on how much room there is might need to be cut smaller.)
Just curious...do you think a butane powered soldering iron would get the proper heat for making these connections? I use one when making wire repairs on 1:1 vehicles at work. Thanks
Very nice vid, bud! Thanks for all of your work! A single question - can you tell me where you got those lovely long shaft hex drivers - I can´t found them here or there, a link would be nice! Cheers from Austria! (the mountains not the cangaroos)
A piece of normal printer paper is good gear meshing tool. Put the paper between the two gears and gently press them together and lock into position. perfect for metal gears. larger plastic gears try folding the paper so it's double thick.
Hay Medic, I noticed that your using a different soldering station,(nice choice by the way) what happened to your 'Track Power' soldering station? Main reason I'm asking is I have the same Track Power station that you used to & I want to know if you had problems with your old one, so I know what potential problems to expect from mine.
My friend, I loved my trak power soldering iron! I just switched because of the Digital Temperature setting. It makes it more precise! Your soldering station is AWESOME bro. no need to change it :)
hey medic , great show , awesome videos, and I know what I suggest might sound boring to some, but being in greece of crises ( 2013) I couldnt help not saying that why dont you try to repair that motor? it only probably wants is some new bearings - and if its burned again great opportunity for a new coil. anyway what I mean is that its cool you spend all that money and we enjoy that trhough you - but what about homemade staff you could use from all around you ... or simply cost effective... I know its an expensive hobby (oh I 'm into rc helis as well so I KNOW) yet some things are better done the hard - cheap way . - just a suggestion here though
what iron would you suggest for under 30 bucks if not a certain brand what power output ive seen some 60 watt would they be powerful enough for rc work
I just put a 55t brushed motor into my Axial Wraith. But i still have the 20t pinion on the motor. Does that have to be upgraded to a 55t pinion or does it not make a difference?
medic an advice from my brother which is a tech... -_-' he says "always use fresh solder because sometimes the connections break with old solder" PEACE!
It could be a dirty or loose connection or interference from noise generated by your motor. A capacitor could help clean that up. You might also look at your brushes & com for excessive wear or dirt in your bush holder that would keep your brushes from properly seating on the com. Also check the springs on your brushes to make sure they are still there. Sometimes you can add an extra twist to them to add a little tension but that is usually a short term fix.

Hi Antonio! Thanks so much for viewing RC Adventures :) Awesome that you watch along with your Son
I enjoy these videos a lot more than the actual driving of the truck, well 75% of the time. I really enjoy the destruction videos.

Love this truck!!!
What would be a good beginner rc scale truck kit? (I was kind of leaning towards the Tamiya Ford bronco).
A piece of normal printer paper is good gear meshing tool. Put the paper between the two gears and gently press them together and lock into position. perfect for metal gears. larger plastic gears try folding the paper so it's double thick.
Medic you should put like a flat bed box on the hokum I think that would be awesome
for me the nicest TF 2 ever ! :D
Nice video medic

what is your gear set up in most of your scale trucks (trailfinder scx10)?
What is that white bottle on top of your receiver box ? Ps awesome video as usual !
I use premade motor leads. I just can't solder worth a damn so it makes it so much easy. just plug and go!

What do you think is better a trail finder or a scx10 dingo?
I just put a 55t brushed motor into my Axial Wraith. But i still have the 20t pinion on the motor. Does that have to be upgraded to a 55t pinion or does it not make a difference?

Hi I got an rc car but its juddering on takeoff any help
