I have a 2012 Mazda 3 skyactiv and I have a trunk leak. The water was pulled at the back right when my car was on a slight incline. I am thinking I have the exact same problem as you. Thanks for the video!
I'm glad it might be helpful. I have unfortunately developed another leak which I suspect is a door membrane failure or back window seal. Exterior leaks are the only issue I've had with a great car.
I'm about to to same job for a customer who has same issue in a '14 HB Mazda 3, I'm gonna look for thoose ones, I also read something about removing the spoiler in the trunk to change that weather strip. Any data ?
I have the same problem with a brand new import but mine is a 2012 hatch back, water leaking in to the tyre compartment, nothing else is wet, just pools in that tyre space. So fking annoying lol....
@@Dan-vt1qt Yep, the issue was the boot seal, pulled it out, used a flat head screw driver to get all the old sealant off which took like an hour lol.... Put a bead of new sealant in it bit by bit as I was re applying it and its pissed down lots since then and no issues.

Thanks for the video. I am currently having issues with water in the trunk of my 2017. Can't find the source but now will check the headlight seals.

After further investigation it's definitely coming from the tail lights. I can see water trickling in through a tiny bolt hole on each side.
Wowww i have a speed 3 2012 same problem, mine is a hatchback but almost same rear lights that cut be my problem tooo, thankss i will check it out,
Thank you!
I have the same problem, mazda 3 2014
In the trunk and back side seat 😢
you said lay down a bead of silicone on top, where did you put the silicone and also did you buy a new gasket or what all did you do?
Thanks !!
No new gasket, just squirt silicone around holes (effectively a new gasket) and rebolt.
