Lyonel Feininger (1871-1956)

This exhibition presents the complete career of this German and American artist, master of the Bauhaus and an essential figure in the artistic panorama of the avant-garde. Lyonel Feininger (1871-1956) is a sort of "concentrated retrospective" of the artist's work. The exhibition brings together nearly four hundred works from different public and private collections in Europe and the United States, through which a tour of his work is proposed, articulated around the different techniques in which the artist worked (drawing, graphic work, painting, photography and toy construction) and the main themes of his production: caricature and satirical drawings; the emblematic places that inspired him such as Paris, Deep, Halle, Gelmeroda or Manhattan; his fixation on bridges, towers, seascapes and urban life.
