This Blues team has more youth and is way deeper than past clubs, and they haven't even reached their full potential yet. Expecting a war of a series. Blues in 6.

I gotta admit it feels kinda good as blues fan to have a lot of the nhl rooting for the blues to beat Boston
JustMy Opinion Anyone with a heart (who isn’t already a Bruins fan) is pulling for the blues lol.
I’m a canes fan but not even salty the bruins beat us, you guys are just an amazing story.
i guess I am quite off topic but does anybody know a good place to stream newly released tv shows online ?
As a blues fan who knows his team never gets the credit they deserve, thank you for this video, Shannon.
I call lucky a hand pass that wins your team the game or a offside call that was bullshit against the avs
Bruins haven’t played a D like the Blues have in this years’ playoffs. We will see. -Hawks fan
@@LoudPet636 Chara skates like he's stuck in mud...that old fart
Vincent Petralia you forgot the bs 5 minute major.
@@LoudPet636 San Jose was never that good of a team. They just got lucky for way too long. It may have never gone to game 6 this round anyways if not for that hand pass. Part of winning a cup is staying healthy, so the fact that San Jose had so many injuries is not an excuse, its a flaw that makes them not as good as they could be. I don't know why people act like injuries are an excuse for losing. If you don't have tough players you don't have a good team.
Everybody Gangsta till the Blues play Gloria
I like your face ! lol
Lmfao u aint lying!!!
The Blues are really a great example of how to build a team without completely tanking.
They’ve got their core that they drafted: Schwartz, Tarasenko, Pietrangelo
A few genius GM moves:
Schenn, O’Reilly, Parayko
Useful free agents:
Perron, Bozak, Maroon
A bright future:
Dunn, Thomas, Blais, Kyrou
Veteran leadership:
Steen, Bouw, Gunnarsson
And gritty depth:
Bortuzzo, Sunny, Barbashev
Sam Kohler perfect explanation! Thanks!
You could also really put Blais on gritty depth. Kid has balls the size of boulders.
I laughed pretty hard when Blais cranked out a slapshot without hesitation to score a goal like a whole minute after Parayko shook Bishop by ringing a slapper of his collar bone.
And not to mention the hits he's been laying on.
Where would you put Binnington on that list?
thenightsshadow bright future for sure.
Parayko is a genius move because of the long term deal? He was drafted by the Blues and should probably be put in your "core they drafted"
One of the best stories in recent memory St. Louis has been.
I was pulling for the Caps last year as a fellow long-suffering fan base.
Maroon may have scored the GW in Game 7 against Dallas but it was Thomas who finally got a puck past Bishop
That kid is a lil badass
@@harleyrider6633 Really hope he scores in the finals. Kid's played a hell of postseason.
@@daelmonaszarkarias3486 You are right in that it was Robert Thomas who got one past Bishop and clanked it off the pipe behind him allowing Pat Maroon to stuff home the 2OT winner in Game 7.
@@daelmonaszarkarias3486 yes he has
Mike Sullivan he ripped that shot off the post and off the back of bishops’ mask which made him flinch forward at the wrong time leave pat maroon on the door step to tap it home.

lets go blues🙌 they deserve it and I will be so happy win the blues win there frist Stanley Cup 😊🙌
Don't forget that St. Louis had Gretzky along with Hull, and they had Fuhr as well.
Yeah. That one hurt.
Unfortunately Fuhr got his knee blown out in the first round thanks to a dirty hit by Nick Kypreos
Ugh. Love Gretzky. But that year in the playoffs, he turns the puck over in double overtime to Yzerman. Yzerman takes a shot from the blue line and goes bar down. Game over. To this very day, I still can hear that in my head. What a crushing way to lose a game 😔
Darkest Loki yea - and Murray Baron completely screened Jon Casey on that shot too

Shhhh, deep down, THG is a closet Blues fan. He just isn't ready to admit it yet. Give him time:-)
Knights fan I like Gloria pretty cool song. Pretty awesome run for the Blues since they were dead last in the beginning of January
I'd argue that one of St. Louis's strengths is they barely even have line combos. They have a very fluid combo of 12-13 forwards who all practice and play together and at times during Blues games it's like Berube and co. just send out three guys most ready to go.
Love the Missouri background. Kansas City Scouts. Go Blues.
Colorado Rockies
Going into this season, I thought the Blues had most of the pieces to make a run. Only question mark was Allen. Athletic as you can get but jumps around in and out of net too much. The first half of the season was devastating. Last place in the league. They were frustrated, fighting in practice. Binnington comes in, Tarasenko gets healthy from off season surgery, the rest of the team starts clicking aaaand we're in the SC final?! They took us for one hell of a ride!
not over yet either.
C'mon boys. Pleeeeeaassee! I need this for my mental well-being.
Let's. Go. Blues.
As a Blues' fan of 40+ years (I'm 45), I can't explain to you how PROUD I am of this team... How they play for one another, how they've bought into Berube... They've all just gone that extra step and you could feel it going into the playoffs... I said it from round 1 this year felt different. It IS different. Here we are first time in my lifetime watching the Blues play in JUNE...holy crap! Thank you Armstrong, thank you Berube, thank you Pietrangelo, thank you Steve Ott, thank you Ryan O'Reilly, etc. etc. etc. for getting us HERE. The works isn't over. The story doesn't end here...what an amazing story this is. My prediction: Blues in 6 in front of their home crowd and not a dry eye in the house that night in June... They blow the roof off Enterprise Center! Blues are DEEP. Binnington is not going to stop... Blues win the Stanley Cup. Write it up now. I'm not even disrespecting the Bruins because they are a phenomenal team... I do respect them. But that's how much I believe in the Blues. It's OUR time. We wear them down...war of attrition like Shannon has said. We wear them down and we continue to play good hockey on the road. Blues win in 6 and I can not wait to witness it and make memories with my kids watching this Final series! LETS GO BLUES!
The Canucks have me singing The first line of Coldplay’s “Fix You.”
“When you’ve tried so hard but you don’t succeed.”
@MRTracing And now you could say the same for the Bruins, lol.
Great overview. In the past the Blues always seemed to have one glaring hole. This is one of the few years when that’s not the case. Though it sure didn’t seem that way in the first half of the season.
Yeah that glaring hole was Allen. Give that bum his walking papers. I wouldn't even trade that pos. Tell him to kick rocks. I stopped watching when they got rid of moose. Started again with #50
NPC #1141441 Agreed, last fall and winter Allen was the most glaring problem. But, I was talking about over the decades (been a fan since 1970) and it wasn’t always goaltending .
Hopefully, Allen played well enough at the end of the regular season that he could be traded to a team desperate for goaltending. Might be able to get a 2nd, or 3rd round, draft choice for him. The Blues’ scouts have found some gems in those rounds - see Bennington and Parayko.
@@JustBob-sw4rf I understand I've been a fan since 69. Lol
Well said! We are always doubted!
I'm kind of used to it, so nothing new there... I think we have a great story and a great city!
We will see what happens... Am not going by game 1... I think by game 3 or 4... We may know by then...

BUT GO BLUES!🎼🎵🎶🎺
Market street Cup from a Flyers fan, I'm totally on board of the ST Louis Blues securing their first Stanley Cup Championship for the city of ST Louis and their loyal fan base " let's go Blues" and I think it's a blessing in disguise that the Blues will open the series on the road " they are a good road team" SO I'll say the Blues in 6 over the Bruins ! A side note the Flyers trading Schenn for Jiri Lehtera was a criminal trade on the Flyers part because we got nothing in return and I mean NOTHING - it was an unforced error by the Flyers GM at the time Ron Hextall, I bet I can only remember of the guy getting a couple of goals and assist for the Flyers and Lehtera could not skate worth a lick !! I think something magical is going on with the Blues right now - Schenn and Berube were excellent Philadelphia Flyers at one time SO Let's Go Blues !!!
I was on board for the Eagles in the NFL... SO what comes around goes around... Thank you Flyers fan... We have something in common and it's 67...
game 4 or 5 more likely. and even then the 3-2 leader might not win the cup.

Congrats on 92k!!
Being drunk and watching my blues advanced to the finals and hearing Gloria blast everywhere I go... what a time what a time... to be a blues fan...
Blues in 6, take these Bruins down, I was at game 6 when they beat the Sharks, they need to carry that same energy
The thing that makes the Blues dangerous is their depth, especially at forward.
You make my dreams made me cheer for Toronto in the playoffs. It's just insane.
That song is so bad it's good.
@@zephyr9031 I just find it funny like when that UFC fighter came out to "Tenderness", or when Homer Simpson came out to "Why Can't We Be Friends?"
I fell in love with this team in the era of Sutter, Ramage, Federko, Luit. However the best prior era is unquestionably Pronger, MacInnis, Demitra, coached by Q. In the late 90's early '00s. This was better than the Hull & Oats era by far. (yes there is some overlap there.)
If they had any kind of goaltending at all we Blues fans would be looking back on some cups!
I still rank the '99-2000 team as our best ever! (before we pulled a Tampa)
This year going in felt different. I never had a better feeling going into the playoffs, and said so to whomever would listen. Not strongest most talented team ever (2000 still holds that title), but the one I felt least nervous about.
Why? Well it just felt like they had their heads in the right place! This is the kind of intangible that drives stats guys crazy. I love stats myself, and second half stats had us trending beautifully.
In addition to that though we had a team that could weather the negative energy that comes from a fan base that adores you, but has a built in sense of "Oh my gosh how are we going to blow it this year". Having had our hearts broken so many times its a natural thing. With the Cardinals everything can be going wrong and the whole city still has a sense that we can pull through. The team feeds off that. With the Blues everything can be beautiful, but at the first sign of adversity "Oh no, here we go again! We're going to blow it aren't we?" That can be tough for a team to overcome.
I truly felt THIS was the team that could overcome that. (to the point that I scheduled my vacation around when I thought the Stanley Cup Finals would be). I thought Chief had them level headed. I thought they were having fun as they worked hard. I felt they were immune to the dread "Oh no" feelings. Thankfully I have some old post history to show Im not just making this up now - lol.
Keep playing that old disco song I hate, but have learned to love. Crowd, keep singing John Denver. Blues keep playing hard believing you can do it. In the past I have overanalyzed things to death. Eff all that. You know what to do with the X's and O's. Just go out, and have some fun doing it!!! Get yourselves a Cup!!!
Long Live the Note!!
Don't forget Turgeon and later Tkachuk, it's hard to believe that team couldn't, at least, win a conference title. Just above avg goaltending would probably of gotten that team to a cup final, but , stuck with Turek, whose only saving grace, was his helmet, which featured Eddie from Iron Maiden.
A radio station here in st.louis is playing Gloria all day today
Good reason for them to be lazy
The blues are four wins away from a fairy tale ending. The story that’s been building here is just to much for me right now! LGB!

Little did everyone know, this Blues team was for real. There is a reason they won more points than any other team since January. They were the best 'team' and played physical defensive hockey that nobody had an answer for.
Sure, there were other more skilled teams out there, but none of them played such a complete team game and were prepared to out-work and out-hit anyone to get what they wanted.
Congrats on the Cup St. Louis, you deserved it. And thanks for bringing back some old-school style hockey and sticking it in the 'speed & skill' peoples faces.
Thanks to all the fans outside of Missouri, glad you guys can bond with us over the common hatred for Boston
Dont really hate Boston (chi, col, pitt, tor...sure) but Blues are too complete and fun team to not cheer for. Reminds me of fun watching Kings in 12.
I agree with you on the Kings, but what's not to like with Colorado? Mackinnon and Rant are amazing to watch and cheer for!
I wanted to say best of luck but I don't want to give Boston any luck, so no...lol..Go Blues🎼🎵🎶🎺
The last time that I added the numbers, from 1980 to 2018 the Blues have the highest percentage of making the playoffs in the NHL. They have made the playoffs in 32 of the last 37 years. That's a percentage of .865 next is Boston at .838 then Detroit at .811 just a fun thing. The numbers are just my own calculations not anything official so you will excuse me if I missed something.
dseward1 sounds about right. I remember when the blues finally missed the playoffs a few yrs ago the had the longest streak of making the playoffs in all of professional sports. It was like 25 or 26 yrs straight. Pretty impressive.
I thought it was the Oilers...hahahaha!
in 50+ years the Blues have missed the playoffs 9 times. the best percentage by far. (Many of those years were in the Norris division and only 1 team per division missed, but still, its impressive)
“And that’s it. No amount of complaining helps.” You’re fantastic.
Yes Shannon, best Blues team ever!
Boston and St. Louis is also the only 2 cities to face each other in the 4 American Sports Championships

You're always on the run now...
You can kind of go down the list of loaded rosters. Blues in 95-96 had Gretzky, hull, MacInnis, duchesne, Pronger and fuhr, and lots of former cup winners and Edmonton oiler vets, and late 90s early 00s with Pronger MacInnis turgeon demitra and tkachuk coach Q at the helm
They also had a lousy coach in Sutter, and Keenan was accused of sabotage. The coach can make a world of difference.
The Blues literally beat the crap out of Dallas by game 7 and beat the crap out of SJ by game 5. I'd be surprised if Marchand makes it 5 games.
I remember 95-96 Blues roster, We got the big signing of Wayne Gretzky that year. We had a lot of potential with Al Mcinnis and a young Pronger. I remember Blues having goal tending injuries in the playoffs and really messing up our chances. It was not our best points in a season I just remember high hopes with some of the stars we had. Very disappointing that year.
This year really knew we had something special with the signings of Perron and O'Reilly. lots of good building blocks added over the years. Now it is paying off. lets go blues!!!!
God that ruined my childhood.
We didn’t sign Gretzky - we traded for him.
O'Reilly looked like he had an injury in the Stars series but seemed to be skating better through the Sharks series. That might explain his low overall numbers though.
He has slowed a bit
I heard speculation that he had a damaged hand from a slash during the Winnipeg series. That would easily explain his big drop off in faceoff wins.
Good lord your stats...I love'em... you really need you own show on T.V. I'm tired of the NBCSN commintary who think they know what they are talking about. Rusty Shackleford yes, but we got Shanahan out of the deal and he had back-to-back 50 goal seasons
@@Toxic_Male_Minimalist I have read before that if the Blues had offered Riendeau and Brind'Amour, instead of Cujo and Brind'Amour, the arbitrator would have given the Devils that instead of Stevens. Blues in a tough series win in 6 games. Look out for Thomas and Perron to have a great series. LGB !! #PlayGloria
1967-70 were good clubs, they had bad luck in 1970, losing Jacques Plante to an injury when he took a Freddie Stanfield shot directly in the mask, it broke the mask and knocked Jacques out. Plante had been red hot going into that series, but a bad bounce took him out, Glenn Hall put in a great effort in the last two games, but I think the Blues were disheartened losing such a key goalie. It didn't help that they were facing the Bruins with Bobby Orr, Phil Esposito, Johnny Bucyk, Gerry Cheevers, Wayne Cashman, Fred Stanfield and Ken Hodge. The first four are Hall of Famers, and the Rest were real good solid scorers throughout their careers.

Sorry, just saw the date of video...my mistake.
Perhaps I misheard, but the Blues never had a season with Hull, Oates, and MacInnes playing together.
Oates' final season with the Blues was '91-'92, and MacInnes' first was '94-'95.
Also, FWIW, the Conference Finals against Colorado in '00 was closer than the 4-1 series loss would indicate. Games 3, 4, and 5 were all decided in OT (Game 3 was 2OT).
