I have the GAF solar shingles. My system was off for 39 days, about half the time they originally estimated. The recall went well and they compensated me quickly. The system was made in California but they have a new factory in Texas and all the people I dealt with are based in Texas.
WOW...the more I look at my GAF Solar Project the more I think God was involved with the whole effort as horrible as it was! GAF a few weeks ago replaced the jumpers, the inverter is on the PPL list, and I have one of the very last SDGE's RMA devices installed in an old main panel! My roof is beautiful.
The inverter has to be approved by PPL. Here’s a link to the list. www.pplelectric.com/site/-/media/PPLElectric/At-Your-Service/Docs/REMSI/Metering-Equipment-Tables/PPL-EU-Smart-Inverter-List.ashx
This just looks like a typical solar panel. I thought every single shingle would be solar and blend in perfectly. This doesn't really look any better than a solar panel system.

That’s great to hear! They’ve handled this recall very well from all accounts we’ve seen.

Congrats! 👍
Has GAF reported when they will start installing again?
We are unsure about this. Their website has a form that can be completed to find out if they are available in your area. bit.ly/3RUo3ly
New installations began around the 1st of the year.
So PPL can stop people from using a SolArk inverter because PPL cant control your inverter??

The Tesla Solar Shingles are more as you describe - more like a shingle than a standard panel.
