A great informative tribute there mate…you have a beautiful Wolf collection. Thanks Chris 👍
G'day Harry. Thanks a lot. He sure was one-in-a-million. Have a great week.
Hi Chris!!! awesome Howlin' collection, t-shirt also and learn a little more about his life... cheers and be well
Hi Cristian. Thanks a lot. He's my favorite, so I have a lot of his stuff. Glad you enjoyed it. Take care.
What a great video. It is outstanding to get a peak at your collection artist by artist. Keep doing these nephew, pretty awesome stuff
Hello Chris; Like the hat & t-shirt appropriate for the video. We own many LP's by the Wolf including the book. Great artist who wrote many classic blues numbers. Good video informative & well explained. Take care, Tina & Pat!!~
Hi T&P!! Thank you very much. I'm glad you found it informative. Take care.
Excellent collection and great info, Chris. I first heard Howlin' Wolf on a CD called '20 R&B Classics that Inspired The Rolling Stones' (or something like that), which I picked up for about two pounds in 1993. It had Little Red Rooster and Smokestack Lightning on it. I have a couple of good CD comps but alas nothing on vinyl as yet. I remember reading that he was a great reader and scholar (he looked that way with those glasses!), and often used to be seen reading books away from the bandstand. Btw, one of my biggest musical regrets is not going to see Hubert Sumlin when he came to play at a small pub in Leeds in about 2001. Can't believe I missed that.
Thank you very much James. My Dad is a Wolf fan, so I remember hearing his records as a kid... his voice frightened me back then. I didn't really start buying his albums for myself until I was in my late teens... mostly cassettes at that point. I wish I had the opportunity to see The Wolf live before he passed. Seeing Hubert would have been outstanding as well! Have a great weekend.
Thanks for making me laugh always. I appreciate it
wow great collection of howlin wolf albums, i remember reading an articale many years ago that stuck with me that his voice is like whiskey soaked broken glass being dragged over hot ashphalt, spot on love that voice, my albums are on cd, a sun records comp, a two for of howlin wolf and moanin in the moonlight, two best of chess records and a two cd deluxe edition of the london sessions, i need to keep an eye out for some vinyl, stunning collection mate, cheers chris
Thanks a lot Stephen. Sounds like you have a pretty epic Wolf collection as well. I like that description of his voice... I agree; spot on. Sam Phillips said that Howlin' Wolf was the best singer he ever heard... pretty high praise. Have a good one.
Fun to see this. I have 5 of his albums.
Thanks a lot Richard. I know he's a favorite for many. Have a great week.
I definitely need more Wolf in my collection. Considering he’s my favorite I’m really short on his albums, only have 5 and a couple are second rate represses. Lucky enough to have seen the great man at the 1970 Ann Arbor Blues Festival. Great video and information.
Hi Jonathan. One can never have too much Wolf in the collection. I'm still missing so many LP's on vinyl... 4 or 5 I think. It never ends, does it? Have a great week.
@@BluesGuyVinyl - It’s never ending. Even though I’m going to be 75 next month, I’m still buying and trying to fill holes in my collection.
That is a lot of Howlin Wolf. I have 4 albums by him, one which you didn’t show.
Wow Impressive I just download a Best Of on Pirate Bay - 3 Cd's should be enough to get a taste
Hi John. There's so much of his material out there... I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Thanks and take care.
Love those Cadet pressings. You delivered some info galore. Appreciated all of it. Super collection Chris~
