7:34 At this part, I can see that most of the reactors are confused. If you're right handed, I can see why, or if you're a lefty who grew up in a supportive household, the confusion can make sense. Let me explain why the girl in the flashback said that. Ok, so, there's going to be a little story on me as well as I'm explaining, so it's gonna be long! As a left handed person, I know what they mean when they say "I thought it would be better to fix his left handedness". (7:34) When I was a baby, and my grandma, a devout Christian, saw me eating my food with my left hand, she was desperately trying to get my mom to "fix" it. She said: "She's eating with her left hand!! Stop her!! That's the hand of the devil, make her a righty!!" (The reason my grandma thought this is because the word "left" stems from the Anglo-Saxon word "lyft", meaning "sinister" or "weak". "Right" meant exactly what it sounds like: "Correct" or "right". The Bible even says that the left hand is considered "demonic". People back in the day used their left hand to wipe after using the bathroom because of this reason.) My mom just replied with "Well, it's nice that's she's a lefty. The only one in our entire bloodline. I don't see the issue with it. She's just like everyone else. Plus, she wasn't eating for a long time, so I don't care if she started eating food with her feet---I'm just glad she's eating again."..... Story time is over now!! Basically, my mom was like Ushijima's dad in this case, and I was Ushijima. Thanks to my mom, I didn't have to worry about having a rope tying my left hand down to the point where my left wrist would bleed, and therefore forcing me to write with my right hand. I know that's something that's never happened since the 19th century, but believe it or not, some southpaw kids are still being forced to become righties to this day...I almost became a victim of that, and the fact that Haikyuu touches on this is beautiful!!
As a Japanese person, I would like to talk about the Ushijima family's attempt to correct their left-handedness. Although it is not common these days, there is a history of left-handed people being corrected to right-handed in Japan. I don't know about other countries, but in ancient Japan, many tools were made for right-handed people, so being left-handed was extremely inconvenient. It was considered polite to use a sword with the right hand, and characters were written vertically from left to right , so the ink would bleed if you were left-handed. It's becoming less common these days, but there are still families who force their children to hold a pen to the right, and I don't think this is abuse. It's true that it's inconvenient to be left-handed when writing Japanese. Furthermore, the Ushijima family is portrayed as an old-fashioned, strict, wealthy and prestigious family, so it makes sense that such customs remain.
1:50 spoiler Alert !!!! The luckiest person in Karasuno is Tanaka Ryunosuke, why ??? Because in the future Tanaka became Shimizu husband .. i thought Tanaka would married Amanai Kanoka because what happen in season 4 ...
funny how karasuno is either just a strong team or their plot armor is too strong that the author needs to injure one of them to have a handicap and lose. I'm pretty sure their current lineup had the chance to win all the way but yea, things happened.

Thanks for this. Worth noting that the latin word for left is also literally "sinister" for the same reason
