Outstanding motorsickle........ Complex starting procedure almost an anti theft device. 1-2 kicks and my Royal Enfield 500 is off and running . Just not nearly as fast as this beautiful BSA
thanks for the posting helped me start my Goldie today.. How do you avoid kick back? i notice some starting there bike if you kick to bottom it doesnt kick ?
The ignition is too advanced if it kicks back using the right technique. It can kick back if using the wrong technique and there is not enough momentum to take it over compression. You shouldn't be kicking it over compression, you should be turning the engine enough before compression that the inertia in the flywheel takes it over compression and starts.
Brings back happy memories. I used to set my Goldie very similar, but I took the bike from the stand and put it into 1st gear moved the bike backwards until compression stopped it and then put bike back on stand , gear box in neutral and then kick started it. This made it easier to start as you were not working against the high compression.
Great anti theft system
What a lovely Goldie it is! Congratulations for such a fine restoration. Love from India !👍
InstaBlaster...
how much is it give me that bike free right now let's go how much is it
So much for quickly getting away from the scene of a crime.
Goldie owners don’t commit crimes. 😂
Hooligans Bike, not for a cissy
Also remember to take the rag out of the bellmouth, forgot to do it dozens of times 😢
That's the technique to start a Velo, not a Goldie😃
Well it seemed to work quite well, it’s exactly what I’d do, what’s your take on it then?
What a great set of engine controls 🤠
That sound, nothing comes close

Did this vehicle is builded by Issac Newton? Very simple technology 🤣
Not That's a Process Of Starting a Diesel Locomotive....

Nice air filter
The real thing!--not the obese imposter.

Omg what the fudge are you wearing on your feet 😳
It
Damn, that's certainly a lot to remember! I can see why some prefer the simplicity of newer electric motorcycles based on this start-up process...
just bought a bsa.. cant get it to idle. needs to be at 3k rpm or dies.
No air filter can destroy carburetor
It doesn't require an air filter. It's called something but I forgot the name
