Man I had to sub, due to your rant. I feel this. People are so biased. I kind of blame UA-camrs that push full frame this and full frame that. I don't want to be biased to any cameras, I want cameras from just about all brands to use and test for my UA-cam channel and put up head to head. I love fujifilm, I will say as a mainly video shooter I would love a more confident face AF algorithm in my X-S10 and X-T4. I came from a canon m50 and a canon PowerShot. I love the features for the price, the amount of first party lenses and the colors .
A few thoughts. I shoot sports including our pro soccer team. I’m the club photog and use the xt4. The low light performance of the xt4 is incredible. One of my photographers shoots the Canon 5Dmkiv so we look at files side by side often. The Fuji is better. Lastly, the 50-140 2.8 is my favorite lens I’ve ever owned. It’s phenomenal!
Bro, my X-H1 is my go to for events and anything with motion. Also, those pictures from the game were crazy! The X-H1 should’ve had a better life cycle, but I’m looking forward to the X-H2.
Man that X-H2... That stacked sensor... I don't even care about the pixel count man... That stacked sensor is going to make sports photography a DREAM.
It’s nice to watch a video where someone who have actually use the H1 has something nice to say about it. I still have my Nikon and Canon film cameras from over 40 years ago and I own some of the latest Canon and Fuji cameras.. The two X-H1 I own are not going any where. Enjoy your video thank you
excellent! so direct! no sugar coated bitter truths we call euphemism! use xh1 and prefer it over nikon d810 for SOOC shots to be given as soon as the event is over!
Preach!!! 🗣📣 I get amazing portrait shots for my church ceremonies, jet ski, offroad dirt car, and football action shots with my Fuji. The eye AF is tack sharp.
@@DeeRosa love my Fuji bro. It's a very very underrated system and the X mount had been around for awhile. I'm almost certain it has more lenses than Canon and almost as many lenses as Sony. And with Fuji opening up its software, many 3rd parties will be releasing more x mount lenses. I'm excited man
BAM! Damn dude! Get some! I loved this! Man I have been wanting a hybrid Fuji camera because of the COLORS. I love them. Won’t have to color grade my Offroad videos at all. But also want something for shooting my sons soccer games. What do you think? XT-4 or XH-1 or something else????
Cool. Much the same as I used my X-H1 for photojournalism... one change is your back button focus I made front button focus, on both the X-H1 and my X-T2 as my thumb has enough to do already, whereas my middle finger was on holiday.
Appreciate the tip but I guess my thumb isn't busy enough then? I'm not changing focus points every shot and it's not that far a reach to move from wheel go af on. Big hands are doing me well.
I have been eyeing the xh1 for the last few weeks the only thing that had me hanging on the fence is to keep hearing that it's not that good in low light and anything after 1600 it starts to get really grainy was that your experience how is low life for you?
I’ve been shooting with my XT2 for sports for the last 4 years. I’m considering upgrading to an XT3 since I feel like I’ve squeezed as much out of the camera as I can. I’m looking for better focus performance, mainly for indoor sports, where the camera doesn’t always lock/track as well as I’d like. Would theXT3 show me improved focus?
great points and having the work to back it all up. still unsure about back button focus worrying that even though the time between taking the photo is small - the person is standing still - that I will still need to refocus, or you mean that you are at a smaller f-stop like f4 to have a larger zone focus?
Back button focus on continuous means it's constantly focusing and stays in focus. You won't need to lift your finger at all. In single focus you can still use the shutter button. But for moving objects back button is better. I use the shutter for focus on portraits.
What a fantastic video with awesome photos!!! I have the XH1 and used it at an event with the Fuji 56 mm f1.2 and all my photos with flash of portraits were tack sharp with eyes in focus, so it’s user error if people carnt get tack sharp images with the focus 👌📸
Yup! I figure the exposure “patches” in the stadium and will adjust when I lose daylight to have my minimum set for the bright spot exposure reading and then the maximum for the dark spots. So it’ll be anywhere from 800-3200 as my min/max and I let the camera decide so I can focus on just getting the shot.
@@DeeRosa Thank-you! It's good to know that it's "ok" to do that if you know what I mean. I have used aperture priority for that same reason on my XT-3. Just want to be able to focus on the shot for sports and for street. Now, I need to save up for some good lenses. Can the 90 f2 do well for sports? It's not as expensive as the 50-140 and I could use it for portraits too. Is it ok without OIS on the XT-3?
Yeah man. The 90mm is a 135 equiv and if you use the sports more on the X-T3 (I do it all the time) it gets you to 170. Not the longest but capturing great moments isn’t just about how close you can get. Your creativity will take over
@@DeeRosa Yeah, not quite that long. I was shooting a T Ball game today with my XF18-55 an adapted Canon FD 135mm manual focus lens. It does a great job. Just need to stop down and have a wider DOF to grab focus. But, it's a fun lens! And it makes you work.
Does "DR" on AUTO and all those other style settings as sharpness, color, noise affect anything if you're shooting RAW only? i don't understand why you went on those if you said RAW only
Never once said raw only - when you’re shooting for a publication you sometimes have to send images mid game. So it’s easier to have the JPEGs look correct right out of camera and send those over email since you don’t have something to edit with always. So yes - I use those specifically for that.
I've been contemplating the 1.4 tele for awhile now. Do you notice any issues with AF speed/accuracy or image quality while using? Also have you every tried the 2x?
No issues with af speed - no image quality isn’t hurt, accuracy is fine and yes I have tried the 2x but since that puts me at a 5.6 I choose to just go with the 1.4x. If I wanted that extra reach I’d sell the 1.4x and 50-140 and get the 70-300 since it’s the same aperture at that point. All around the 50-140 + TC are a great combo.
@@DeeRosa Thanks for your input! I've thought about the 70-300, but not having the ability to autofocus while zooming is a bit of a drawback for me. Photographing soccer where subjects are constantly moving to and from.
Very good video! Fuji is indeed criminally underrated for sports. I have an X-T4 combined with the 70-300 and the hit rate has been excellent, particularly when using back button and single point continuous autofocus.
Were you using the TC on the shots from the game? I rented the 50-140 recently and I knew from the first shot I would own it. I don’t give a F about the specs - the output doesn’t lie. Your shots are proof of that and man you really know how to run a camera. Keep it coming!
The resentment attached to Fujifilm and Nikon is that they both enjoy cult status and while both have shortcomings of sorts in their own way it is true the photographers working with these machines have a fundamental grasp on our art and craft missing from the users of more commercial types of cameras.
Kiddo some of those shots I sent you were taken with an RX10, a 1 inch sensor. The camera is not the issue, its the photographer and the right lens. If you have good light a lot can be done, the smaller sensors struggle in lower light. Even pro's use strobes indoors with a FF camera. It may be a struggle with smaller sensors but it can be done.
Truth! I shoot a 5D mark 4 with the 70-200 for a sports league, not my equipment, pictures look great. I personally use an xt3 and rented the 50-140 to compare and quality wise you couldn’t tell the difference. Plus the autofocus on the xt3 was significantly faster. Both looked great, so like your saying either you can shoot or you can’t shoot especially with these modern cameras. Can’t keep blaming the gear for bad photos
The fact that the XH1 and other Fuji products pack so much insane performance and features and can be picked up for under $700 and still gets shit on is insane to me. That and the 50-140 is INSANE, sharp, fast AF, and somehow still has some character to it.
