Hey I love your city but I just wanted to let you know what old European cities most often have the poorer districts in the East (due to the way the wind mostly blows and pollution) and one side of the river is always less developed and dense than the other side (Like London is less developed on the south side, Antwerp on the west, Amsterdam north and Budapest west). I hope you will take those thing in account too! Anyway, I love both your cities so far!!
Budapest is much more developed on it’s western side,it is the wealthier part. The less developed parts are on the eastern and southern part of the city like Józsefváros,Zugló,Csepel, etc.
I love how you manage to make the skyline of your city look unique whilst being limited by assets available in the workshop and the time period. Amazing job.
This level of detailing... Man I can't tell how much I've learned from only one video. Waterfront is always my favourite part and I'm still learning all the tricks.
I have an idea for a relativly large factory (considering the industrial demand is pretty high right now) that would make sense in this setting. So to the left of the cargo port, more or less between the upper railyard and the lower tracks going to the port you could build some kind of larger brick factory. Maybe build a nice factory front this the modular industrial buildings (you used next the train maintainance yard) and some large industrial halls and a big brick chimney.
I'm so in love with this city and your detailing when comes to working with the elevation... all those stairs, tiny alleys and backyards are just stunning! and I love the idea of building the small square on top of the flat building. just thinking of it and finding a way to make it happen in this game shows your creativity and talent :) Love it! sad that this probably was the last episode. it was a really great one though. I really hope that you'll find a way back to creating and sharing such amazing projects with all of us in some way or another a few years down the line :) Gonna keeping an eye open for you
Look in the community tab of his channel. He ends the channel because of work-life balance and the COPPA thing was the last bit to push him out completely. He said he will hide this channel towards the end of the year (probably because the deadline for UA-cam's changes is the 1.1.2020)
Looks great but you need more narrow street in the oldest part of the city. For when there wasn't any car. You can use pathways. You need some alleys between the building there and there especially when you strugle building something looking perfect. Good job

Wow amazing 😊 reminds me a little bit of Munich. I was wondering. Aurelia and Altengrad are both looking very clean and very structured. Have you ever thought about making a rather dirty, destroyed steampunky city? Not necessarily in the near future, I know your time schedule is filled, but more like in general. Would that be something you're interested in making?
Hmm, just an idea for the road between those two big buildings: How about you will delete its slope and make it straight, so you can connect those two buildings not just by a "narrow" bridge but with a big plaza above the road? the road will be in a Tunnel below (just build like the actual bridge but extendet in its wideness) and will leave it behind the road on the backside of the two buildings, go up and connect to the rest of the road network? It is just a small thingh and not that good visible from above but a unique detail wich you don't see as often as a foot-bridge ;) Don't get me wrong it also looks very nice and realistic like you build it, just was an idea of me ;)
I really like that uniqueness of old style city and cant wait for next decades. If you have so steep waterfront maybe consider making something like Wały Chrobrego in Szczecin? (google it :D)
This was done eventually, but was very much still brewing among the heads of engineers in the early 20th Century. Highways were technically a thing, but more like major roads than the freeways that are commonly seen these days.
There won't be new episodes sadly. Look in the community tab he ended the channel. Actually he wanted to hide the channel by the end of the year, but apparently he didn't, so we can at least continue to watch the old videos.

I think most people haven't seen your community post, I think you should announce better, that you will end this channel? Will this be the end of Altengrad and Aurelia or will you continue streaming or uploading somewhere else?
@@timin1258 Yeah I am really sad, too. I loved his style of building and making videos as well as the theme of Altengrad and the idea of slowly going forward in time.

Man, I just absolutely love that you pronounce Budapest in a proper way
igen :)
yes :)
Been watching since episode 1, Altengrad is looking superb!
I have never seen a city in cities skylines that look so European. It look very cool!
This level of detailing... Man I can't tell how much I've learned from only one video. Waterfront is always my favourite part and I'm still learning all the tricks.
I just realised that ur city looks like Prague. Mostly because of the castle on a hill almost in the middle of the city beside the river
Its also true about Budapest, as the Parlament of Hungary is on the river bank and the Buda castle is on a hill as well on the opposite side
Bratislava is the one with a big White castle in the middle
@@ellebresych5282, that castle is Bratislava Castle. Built in 1366, burned down in 1816. Restored in 1950.

Very nice,
I see that you have based Altengrad on Budapest, judging from the castle on the hill opposite to the parlaiment.
great work man! this city looks super amazing

To be fair, Yours "Canal Street" would be a perfect place for an unexpected brake failure... :D

@@Santiago-pu8sm He said he is going to hide it, I don't know how it works, but I think you can't find it publicly and need a link.

Found your channel back on like episode 22 and I'm in love
as a hungarian i just looked the index picture and i knew everything :D
Build some “Bauhaus” era Houses which were modern in the 20/30s, Villa Tugendhat is an inspiration
I already did, episode 23.
@@Akruas I must have missed it, cheers!
Dude, missing the awesome projects, thankfully I have a lot of your content downloaded already, missing seeing Aurelia hitting completion.
I absolutely love the European 1940’s vibe!
The smaller one is the naturehistoric Museum in Vienna
Can't believe this is the same cities skylines game that I play.
Watching him use Procedral Objects completely blows my mind. I really need to take the time to learn how to use it.
Your level of detail is amazing. You should create maps for different games...
Almost a month since this went up. Hope plan to continue the series.

I do think Altengrad could use some more smokestacks.
This is so a big city

What's cool is that my name is actually Alten
Will you build a metro system in Altengrad in the future? Two or three lines?
Where is this "canal" street in Prague? I never heard of it and I love knowing these little technical details.
It's the street "Nad Štolou" which is over a hole/canal that supplied a pond in Stromovka.
Thanks
Yes! I've been waiting for this!
Can u share your assets folder? I want use this buildings but i dont have enough time to create a buildings pack.
This looks a lot like the the parliament building in Budapest
Wherefore did Thou abandon us, creator, master, king?
Paris and London did the same thing and put tunnels with roads on top over their smaller rivers.
efficient job with PO!

AWESOME!!!!
Could you build a mid century modern university when you get to 1950s 60s with the Bauhaus building and that kind of style
You could try Vanilla Trees Remover to get rid of the vanilla ones completely, even on sub-buildings
I've been using that, but it makes loading a save much longer, and the LOD vanilla trees are still there.
Great video, ur job is amazing.
Hello, i think that, you could also build up a highway-network around Altengrad !
