There's a new gabion wall at Arbor Hills Nature Preserve! A gabion wall is a retaining wall made of stacked stone-filled enclosures (gabions) tied together with wire. It's designed to stop erosion of the creek's banks by fast-moving water. This new wall should protect the creek and trail for many years to come.
