Attendees included the Prince and Princess of Wales, their children, the Duchess of Edinburgh, and Princess Beatrice.

Although this is a lovely thought for tv viewers.
I have a feellng it cost rather alot of tax payers money.
It would have been a better gesture to the less fortunate to receive a payment or hamper over xmas .
And for the homeless and ex forces homeless in our towns and cities, a secure warm place over the Xmas period.
