I know exactly how you feel. I found Tuba Skinny and they lead me to a whole lot of other great bands, performers, musicians ect. I love the superbands. They are a who's who of New Orleans best.
@@kingsly3690 As I understand it, the superbands aren't a band per se but a combination of members of several bands and probably some solo artists. I'm not from NOLA but I think how it works is some hears of a need in the community, a cause or individual that needs help. They put out the word and musicians and singers from around NOLA come together temporarily to form one big or super band and perform to raise money for the cause. Based on the videos I've seen, most of these folks are NOLA regulars while some may be seen only once. I think they put out some really good music. My advice is keep watching the superband videos and the bands that often participate such as Tuba Skinny, The Slick Skillet Serenaders, Maddie and Her Jazz Friends, Yes Ma'am and the other bands that busk around NOLA.
And THANKS again for recording and posting this .. you can't fully appreciate 'trad jazz' until you get a sense of the extraordinary New Orleans music community. Led here by Micheal Magro (clarinet) of Loose Marbles (so fitting), w/ Shaye Cohn - maybe - on coronet to his right and answering on trombone (left) Barnabus Jones ... and many of the 'usual suspects' !!!
From Tuba Skinny Robin Rapuzzi on sticks instead of washboard, looks like the back of Shaye Cohn on cornet, [sitting down], Barnabus Jones on Trombone, I assume that's Todd Burdick on Tuba sitting down but can't see him. The girl with the black hat on the banjo is cute.....if I were young I'd want to know her name lol. Corrine Corrina became a pop hit in 1960 by vocalist Ray Petersen, but was spelled as "Corrina Corrina."
Just who the hell is the guy with the purple shirt and the sax? He could have played the whole song on that instrument. Please please someone tell all of us who this guy is.
They are superlative good. But the crowd is as stupid as cows looking at a passing train. How did people get so stupid while what it happends front of them is so beautifully made ?
What I love about New Orleans!

Très beau dans le genre. Les danseurs sont magnifiques !
I get stoked when I find a band this great and cool but with TS it's like they've introduced me to a whole new genre of music..I'm gobsmacked.

Nobody figured out who the sax player is yet? Come on folks, it’s been a year since the question was first asked.
That’s the incredibly talented Tomas Majcherski, I think he lives in Vermont now.
