Two of my favorite professional wrestlers of all time and I loved every single second of this. Both guys were told they would never wrestle again and have come back and DELIVERED in every way possible. This was a fight, this was a struggle, and it was everything that Strong Style should be.
So glad that they both fought their ways back from forced retirements to become even better wrestlers and put on the masterpiece we just watched 🔥 ⭐⭐⭐⭐ ⭐...

Danielson did his thing, but give it up for Shibata. The fact hes even still wrestling, at the level he is, is insane.
In 2016, Daniel Bryan tearfully announced his retirement following extensive concussion-based injuries.
In 2017, Katsuyori Shibata suffered a subdural hematoma and was believed to be finished with wrestling.
In 2024, Bryan Danielson and Shibata put on a master class on free TV.
Why DO other people watch other sports, I truly wonder.

The vast majority of pro wrestling isn’t at that level, plus it’s not an actual sport.
Every sport has it's moments. Look at the NCAA basketball tournament for example. Professional wrestling definitely has it's moments but sports is filled with special moments.

I grew up a fan instantly when I was just 8yo watching Antonio Inoki back in early 80s, since 1982. Watching this masterclass by Danielson and Shibata and seeing them honouring Inoki and each others like that was heart warming like all the memories it brought back.

I was lucky enough to go (& I'll be in Toronto this week for the upcoming Dynamite) and this was a treat to watch up close (the back and forth between these two was awesome) And Shibata looks great!
This was an awesome match, especially for free on TV.
I just wish they had included Ospreay as a colour commentator, or perhaps in an interview before the start of the match to discuss his opinion on both guys.
It would add more to the match they are building between the two.

There were no chairs, barb wire or blood...but watching this match all I could think is how badass these two are. The cross-legged slap-off alone was brutal.

Bryan opened the world to smaller wrestlers and defined the ideal "perfect wrestler" with a mixt of striking strong style, technical grappling and submission, crowd playing with his awareness and charisma, in his 40's he's still simply the best, let's enjoy watching him wrestle, it won't last much longer.

Shibata held the PURE title for almost 6 months and had to drop it due to VISA issues. This was Shibata's first match back after clearing that up.
Shibata is past his prime. Still great but 2013-2017 Shibata was one of the best ever to do it.

Why is this match between literally the best wrestlers in the world on the mat not promoted and not on ppv. This is a dream match for me and it happened without me even knowing about it. These are my two favourite active wrestlers and they had a match and I didn’t know about it till five days after. That isn’t right
To think that both of these men retired because of head injuries, but have come back better than before is crazy to me.
