I also encountered a demon years ago. Four times, separated by years. It had a different appearance each time, but I knew it was the same creature due to its aura. Palpable evil coming off it in waves.
The way you highlight certain themes of the comics has got me thinking about other media. Specifically the protagonist becoming a bigger monster, the sheer brutality shown, and the voice talking to Frank feeding into his worse instincts all stand out to me. It’s reminding me of a lot of the motifs from Berserk. Have you read that manga? If yes what are ur thoughts on it?
Went and got vol. 1 of the Skybound TF run by Daniel Warren Johnson to celebrate me being near the end of the first fourth of my master's degree. It's as good as everyone said it was and I couldn't be happier with the print and paper quality.
At first, I was thinking this would be a joke. As in, the comic physically shocked you with static electricity. Then I saw the trailer for the vid and did my research... if I'm right - and I could be wrong - everything checks out for something truly scary.
Ennis run on Punisher, both his 616 and MAX runs, are too me the definitive takes on the character. Born is a great comic and I think works as a great setup for the character in general. I've seen a few people review and talk about Punisher Born, but I've noticed they all seem to miss one thing, which is they assume the voice is a Demon he's making a deal with. It isn't. Its Death. Death is a character in the greater Marvel canon and Frank has been said to be tied to him, and that he is in fact her champion, wearing her sigil on his chest. I believe one of the versions of Born, either the Trade or Hardbound I can't remember, has notes by Ennis discussing various aspect of the comic and h=the writing process, and he confirms this being the case and that Death itself made the deal with Frank.
Honestly. More of these types of videos Lio. Whenever you have the inclination to do them of course.
Loved this video, hope to see you discussing/dissecting more comics in the future!
I’m a sucker for comic/manga reviews! Especially psychological horror.
This be right up my alley...
"Don't feed the people but we feed the machines..."
This was great! You should do more of these!
I love your comic videos 😊

Was right. As soon as I saw the name "Garth Ennis," I knew shit was going to get disturbing.

Interesting! Wish he had made that a bit more clear though; would've caught my attention either way.
I had a sneaking suspicion that Garth Ennis had something to do with this…boy was I right
Yes, THAT Jace.
If u want a comic to shock u, go grab Butch Killigan 2
Snuck into the comments early hehe~ but genuinely this is an incredible video!
Is this comic dc or marvel ? Or a random comic made by a different company ?
It's Punisher, so obviously Marvel.
Was it CROSSED?
