Best episode ever. Ben on fire. This was a fucking lecture of the highest order. 15 mins in when he talks about rap it just verbalises that missing piece of the lineage.
You're probably too busy filming AfterLife 2, but thanks for making these podcasts thingies, I really enjoy listening to you. This was a fab episode. ❤
Both Thought provoking and funny as ever - personally I’m happy to trade a few laughs for an interesting critique on changing societal norms (- I recently listened to some old Xfm stuff and while very funny still, to me it now sounded a tad purile, so I guess I prefer this type of discourse now tbh - guess we all change over time) I know the topics have been raised before, but societies personal disconnect allied to what we now have ie a faux group connect fuelled by need for affirmation outrage is seriously troublesome and Ricky et al are trying to tackle it in order to dampen the flames a bit, as we are heading for an outcome in ten yrs where admitting you’re British/Italian/Turkish (or any colossally aggressive post colonial empire) will cancel you in polite society - which is plainly bonkers! Keep up the good work Ricky
I know Gervais owes nobody anything but I keep sticking with it hoping he'll get back to his roots instead of being in danger of becoming a pc careful comic which he has always been against,, and omg don't get me started on the guests
Cunningflop since before he was on the TV, even early radio, paid money to always see his gigs,, it's an opinion u 'i know Ricky Gervais comedy 'get a life u ussy hole
Stefan Kelly maybe Jesus will return in a blaze of glory glory hallelujah over Wonga-Wonga on a flying saucer/chariot led by twelve golden horned unicorns whistling the theme tune of the good, the bad and the ugly directed by Sergio Leone , or maybe Serge Gainsbourg and Jane Birkin's "Je T'Aime ...Moi Non Plus" and, at the very least, this will give Ricky something to rabbit on and on and on about with his verbal diarrhea!
Eamon D no mate, Bob Dylan is the best, except between midnight & 2AM on Wednesday when it's Neil Young, and 11PM - 2.37AM on Saturday/Sunday morning when it happens to be Tom Waits.
I've gone right off music, I hardly listen to any and I listen to podcasts and watch/listen to UA-cam videos when I work out. It adds the chill factor. I've just got to the point where its same shit different wrapper. So I find myself watching romcoms and womens shit to experience a different reality. Im a sucker for a rom com.
It took him 34 minutes to talk about John Wayne being attacked on twitter. Is this a new record? I estimate by show #100 he'll give it at least 45 minutes before mentioning it.
Damn fuckin' Twitter man!..fuckin' sicka hearin' 'bout the damn thing, wish the damn thang 'd never been invented. Down Texas where I is from John damn Wayne's a fuckin' hero and any damn fool gotta problem with that they's more 'n' damn likely cruisin' for a good ass whoopin' !
I think there is a difference between an openly gay British rock star who has no pretense at gangster credentials like Freddie Mercury, and someone whose whole story revolves around growing up hard in gangland, like Snoop or 50 Cent, having lyrics about shooting people. It’s not necessarily race but background. If Roachford wrote a lyric about violence, it would probably go unnoticed. But So Solid Crew, a group with pretensions of actually being a real street gang, complete with criminal activity and a charge sheet? It’s different no?
Literally exactly the same stuff as last 4 episodes, what about not referring to a guest racial background and just chatting about other stuff, love Ricky but for heaven's sake talk about other stuff than twitter SJW race and outrage.
@Anthony Butler Ethnicities she looks like more than she looks Black - Italian, Middle eastern, Hindi, Native american, Kardashian (this is white with a kept tan)
When he was talking to doc brown parts of it literally reminded me of "my favourite actor.. Sidney Poitier" from The Office.. like calm down we know there's a mixed race man present but couldn't they just talk about something upbeat like Glastonbury, music in general, holiday's, family life, anecdotes, Christmas? Anything! Lol and the other guy got like four sentences in
This is the same shit every week. Virtue signalling...Ricky then explaining that David Brent is trying to write the best song he can. We get it mate. The Michael Jackson theory...I listen to these because it’s relaxing...but it’s getting less and less.
Lets play a record and we'll be right back. Ever thought of playing a joke, a comedy sketch instead, do something different, be different. Good idea huh? You can Apple Pay me or mail the check. Need cash 👍
Good damn luck gettin' cash outta this greedy ass mother , buddy ... reckon you gots more damn chance winnin' the damn lott'ry know wha' i 's - a - sayin'? This limey - ass sonvabitch sure is takin' the piss with this lazy-assed buncha crap , lemme tell y'all down Texas where I is from man you gotsta work damn hard for your dollar know wha' i 's - a sayin'? , you don't get away with this kinda crap down Texas boy! Nosiree Bob! Kinda crap's that bullshit!?
Gervais owes me nothing , and no one cares probably, but that episode was really bad. Taking of racism with the black guest, complaining about Twitter swj for the 20th time. Just bad
Poor bloke must've felt like a lemon sitting there silently for most of this episode. I certainly know the feeling...I now feel like a proper lemon having sat through this whole edition. Bloody fool!..that's an hour I'll never get back again. 🎩
Not gangster = I wave back at people on boats 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
The Paxman Clarkson confusion was hilarious
I enjoy these.
I also enjoyed the old podcast and xfm show.
Mental init
David Brent: “I fucking love Eminem”
Ben's confusing Paxman with Clarkson was comedy gold...I was in tears!

This podcast has run its course, no?
Despite bringing misery to everyone that listens to it, I genuinely thought it was in for a Sony. Better luck next year
Love Doc Brown and Stephen Knight. Ricky Gervais is winning
I went crazy for a second when he said Steven. I was expecting "and the little round head buffoon that is..."
Danny Bakers mistake was he didn't follow up with a ginger joke when they all got angry.
You're probably too busy filming AfterLife 2, but thanks for making these podcasts thingies, I really enjoy listening to you. This was a fab episode. ❤
I love it when Ricky ‘um’s’ when he comes to talking about race .
Member of public "You used to eat chicken"
Me : "You used to shit in your pants"
I didnt notice she was black and I had to have it spelled out to me what Danny had done wrong!
GET KARL ON!!!!!!
great stuff, very entertaining! x
I'm interested in getting Karl to this interview and see his today views of the world

That's not cryptic, that's shiiiiiiite
You know the nuclear bomb, right. They put a manhole cover on top of one. Blew it up. Never saw the manhole cover again.
No Diane = noooooo listen
Ricky Gervais would love the tiny meat gang!
I know Gervais owes nobody anything but I keep sticking with it hoping he'll get back to his roots instead of being in danger of becoming a pc careful comic which he has always been against,, and omg don't get me started on the guests

Good man 👍👌😂.
When are you having Gad Saad on?
Bryan Kilvinski yes, have Gad Saad on with Stephen Knight. I’d love to hear THAT Tommy Robinson conversation. It’ll never fucking happen.
Maybe nr.55 will have some new topics 😑
Stefan Kelly maybe Jesus will return in a blaze of glory glory hallelujah over Wonga-Wonga on a flying saucer/chariot led by twelve golden horned unicorns whistling the theme tune of the good, the bad and the ugly directed by Sergio Leone , or maybe Serge Gainsbourg and Jane Birkin's "Je T'Aime ...Moi Non Plus" and, at the very least, this will give Ricky something to rabbit on and on and on about with his verbal diarrhea!
Best one yet. Ben Bailey is the best

What?
I actually think it was partially because it was targeted at the royals - but in that case im too monarchist to say something against the reaction 👑😂
Fuck the lot of the freeloading aristo-arseholes!

@@charlotteb5802 For the last few years Gervais has been gradually showing himself to be not that different from the characters in his work.
Do you still read the guardian Ricky???
I didn't think we could say mixed race anymore, I'm confused!!!
I believe you're thinking of the term "half-caste"
Ricky is the worlds greatest comic & I’m his number one fan from Hastings. Please give me a shoutout, mention Ricky 🙏🏻
42:00 Christ! ..as if we didn't know!
He's never mentioned it, he should do multiple podcasts saying it over and over.
