I just purchased this model, and it’s awesome. I had the series 7 for a day or two, which was awesome too, but for thick haired folks like me, the series 9 is truly the best model I’ve owned yet. The shave is damn close to an actual blade. I hear a lot of crap about the sideburn trimmer, and I had no issues with it. Also, the quality is great, even though it’s not metal. The best part is that I paid $199 for it, which included the charging/cleaning station, the cleaning solution cartridge, the case and cleaning brush. Happy Shaving!!! 😁
9:15 OMG That's great!! Thanks for a real man's perspective. I got this shaver today after seeing your video. $499 here in Australia. Thrown my Philips rotary shavers in the bin!
I just got one last month it's the best shave I've had in years it does get as close a blade i pushed to hard on my chin area and it cut me! Best electric razor ever
Why doesn't anybody ever talk about blade replacement or blade replacement cost? I'm a huge fan of electric razors I hate using traditional razors. Last few electric razors I've had by the time I needed to replace the head they have come out with newer models and was unable to find them or they cheaply outsourced them and they don't work near as well as the original.
I’ve owned/tried to own this shaver for almost 2 years. It is the best shaver for shaving a two day growth and shaves my face very quickly. The Panasonic Arc 5 shaves closer but takes longer due to more passes to get the hair. However in the two years i have had 5 failures. All to do with the on/off/lock button. You would try to turn it on and within 10 sec, it would automatically go into lock mode. It was not useable. It is a known issue here in Australia with the repairers. They say the circuit board gets faulty and they just replace it. Surprised nobody else has had this issue
Great review..I’ve had the Series 7 for about 8 years now and love it. Just don’t like the location of the trimmer on it and the springs on it broke but I have a separate trimmer that works better. Cost of the heads are roughly $30 and think I’ve replaced mine twice so far since I’ve had it. Just not sure I like that chrome plastic though. Again..great review.
Anyone have a problem with the sliding trimmer getting jammed from too much hair behind the rails and not sliding? Any ideas on how to clean behind the trimmer or remove the trimmer assembly?
I've been shaving for about 45 years so I have quite a few shavers and I can't ever remember one that was made of metal. I think plastic is probably the best material for a shaver, the trick is to make the plastic feel premium, like in a luxury car. To try to make plastic look like metal doesn't work, and looks tacky. Great razor though.
Great review fingerprints is a small price to pay for the performance it gives. Plastic reduces the weight, who wants to shave with an anvil in your hand. You would have to drop that on a marble or granite floor to bust that handle. I bought one of these bad boys and like the review said it is incredible.
I am torn between buying this shaver and the Norelco Prestige. Yes the other Norelco's don't come close to the Bruan but the Prestige does. The big thing I like about the Norelco is its a lot quieter than the Braun and it does not have that annoying buzzy bee sound. The downside is there is no cleaning station with the Norelco but I am wondering if that is just a way to make more money off people. Not sure if you can just run the shave under water and that is all you need to do.
Thx for the review. I have been with Panasonic for at least 20 yrs but they have gone down in quality like a boat anchor. battery goes in no time, machine eats up my face..and well I am done with them! But, the shaving cream has been good with electric. It provides a nice shield..used to use lectric shave eons ago..never liked the small or the oily film it left. But, I hear you!
what's up with the cleaning station? do you use it daily, weekly, monthly? i've had my razor for about 2 weeks, and it's indicating i need a new container of hazardous waste. what gives? no words of wisdom in the book
Wow, I just bought it in Canada on Amazon Canada for $197CAD which in USD is $155. I guess prices have gone down since your purchase. I bought it September 5th 2021. I’m stunned, we always pay more in Canada.
Great video man! I’m thinking to buy Andis Profoil Shaver to shave my head. (I have thin hair and in the middle is falling apart hair cause I’m turning bald) and nowadays I use a safety Razor (Merkur 34 C) to my head and I want to buy a electric shave machine. Many people have said that it shaveds as close as a safety razor and what’s your thought about that? Appreciate if you could answer.
electric shavers can get you smooth, andis profoil or the wahl 5 stars could get you the same results, wahls foils holes are just bigger making it take stubble out faster more but also making it easier to tear the foil, remember before you use the shaver u have to get the hair down to stubble first
Buddy, I have been using 790cc for 6 years now still going solid. I want to upgrade now to series 9 but it appears that 790cc is still the boss all over the internet. Now my question is that is it worth going from 790cc to series 9?
I went from Gillette fusion plus 5 blade cartridge razor which is easily the closest shave possible when going against the grain. However, the series 9 shaves almost identically close but with no irritation daily. First time in my adult life I can get a really close shave around my mouth. It is worth saving for. I got mine from JCPENNEY stores online. After rebates it was $150 American dollars. Edit: no more wasting lots of water
Returning my it’s nice on the flat areas like my face but doesn’t do good on my neck tried for a week with daily shaving. Since I have to for work. I’ve done wet, dry, with and against the hair growth, stretch skin and turn my head every way I can. I’ve done more pressure and less pressure couldn’t ever get the neck area. Evened up having more red marks and small cuts trying to get my neck. It’s nice I will take away that but defiantly far from perfect and the price tag is too much for those problems to happen. I’ve even gave it a 20 minute try to really take time and work with but never got better. Defiantly wouldn’t buy this thing from somewhere that won’t take it back after a week or two. I would try cheaper option or stay with normal razors and just but better quality razors. But that’s my opinion. If it works for you it’s great if it doesn’t work for you don’t be stubborn and think it will get better or easier.
Thanks for this very honest review. I don't live in the US but on visit last Christmas I bought mine in Best Buy, they had a special so I got it for $199.00. Braun is an excellent product. But from the first day I was totally disappointed with the shaver. It misses whiskers that keep getting longer and then misses them even worse. It has also given me some pretty good yanks. I don't know if I am doing something wrong maybe I should press harder. I didn't fully understand the part about not using shaving cream. I use it but still misses whiskers. I would not recommend this product!!
I was going to buy it but the reviews on the replacement heads are pretty much ALL bad. Same with the 7 series. So since I don't want a future nightmare i'll be going to Panasonic 5 blades instead. Plus those heads are super expensive !
I'm astounded that you have a power outlet in the bathroom and right next to the sink! that is not the norm in the UK...electricity + water = bad news!
I would love to know how long you had to replace the blades since its not designed for that kind of cutting. Coming from an Arc 6 owner so you know I don't have anything against Panasonic obviously.
I hate when manufactures paint plastic parts with a chrome finish to make them look like metal. If it's plastic, just be honest about it. This looks really cheap and sad but they still charge you $300 for it. Shame on you Braun! Deal breaker indeed!
Love the video man. Just a little Tip for future reviews: try n shorten it a little bit. A little bit too much story telling. Could've been shorted a minute or 3 :) other than that lovin the videos
When you came across the big fat black charger forget about it i Won't buy it not going to finish watching best fight predictor Rocky and founder of boxing vs UFC

@Ardeth Bey either would come close to the panny with metal body and gold rollers!
I just got one last month it's the best shave I've had in years it does get as close a blade i pushed to hard on my chin area and it cut me! Best electric razor ever
Thanks for the honest and great review. I just bought a Series 9260PS at Costco.
Proper real and honest review.......Thankyou
Great review, very useful. Have you tried the Panasonic ES-LV9N? still worth the price difference between the Braun?
Great review! Thanks for sharing. Good to know about the plastic body. For the price...makes me think, "hmmm".

instaBlaster...
Great review, nothing like seeing 1st hand and i'm sold.
Thanks a lot! I'm getting mine soon.
Anyone have a problem with the sliding trimmer getting jammed from too much hair behind the rails and not sliding? Any ideas on how to clean behind the trimmer or remove the trimmer assembly?
So 9090cc and 9095cc both are made out of plastic chrome covers right?
Great review...well said..And 100 % on point!
Good review man 👍👍👍
Thanks for honest review
What happens to the cut hair? Does it get sucked inside the razor head? Or does it just drop all over your sink?

I’ve just bought the series 9 off eBay brand new boxed for £193. And it is awesome out off ten I’d give it an eight?

What about oil beard ? Can you use on oil beard ?
Bed bath and beyond has the Braun 9 series in the low 200's if I'm correct $220 to $230
Thanks for posting
Looking forward to a review of the Panosonic third generation Arc5 LV9N which is metal, and runs faster.
why doesn't anyone talk about the ground breaking led screen / features.
Great review. I’m off to buy one
My problem has always been the neck. So you say you get no irritation when you shave or have to do multiple passes???
Irritation free on the neck. Does a superior job.
Thx for the review. They got the number 5 on amazon for like $60 not sure if I should get don’t really want to drop $200-$300 on a foil shaver

It says I can use shaving cream on my 2021 model

B-Lo The Barber Yeah man it’s like 0,1 cm so it’s never grown out.
This thing is a beast for shaving a head. I can shave my head after seven days and it just mows it down to nearly razor smooth.
Series 5 is only $99 on Amazon

Safety razor and straight razor both closer than Gillette fusion 5 blade.
Gotta admit it looks really nice. Plastic sucks though. And I think the trimmer razor on the Series 3 looks way superior.

That's a damn good shaver!
Shave demo starts at 9:03

Plastic handle and easy to get fingerprint are absolutely killing my willing to buy it.
short hair is easy even with chaeper short shavers :) the trick is longer hairs.
Series 3 Braun is good too.
You'd rather real metal that rusts?
300.00 for an electric shaver?...... I’m old, very old.
Is the 7 metal?
The head is all metal, but the body is all plastic
No way in hell I'd ever pay over $300.00 t shave. HELL NO !
I was going to buy it but the reviews on the replacement heads are pretty much ALL bad. Same with the 7 series. So since I don't want a future nightmare i'll be going to Panasonic 5 blades instead. Plus those heads are super expensive !
Just paid $159.00 for mine.
I'm astounded that you have a power outlet in the bathroom and right next to the sink! that is not the norm in the UK...electricity + water = bad news!
GFI dude, any current change it immediately stops the power delivery
when the hair is little bit longer its a problem.. from like 5 mm its going to be bad :(
Can’t you just use the trimmer to take it down a bit?
Seems like a pretty good shave but damn this thing is $$$, I just can't see myself spending that much money to shave my face (but good video anyways).
CeNTuRiOn33100 Remington F5 5800 for only $50
You probably spend that and more over time...
isn't that titanium and not plastic? wasn't that the whole marketing about it?
Arc 5 does my 5 day growth ... way better! And my panny is metal bodied way way better!
I would love to know how long you had to replace the blades since its not designed for that kind of cutting. Coming from an Arc 6 owner so you know I don't have anything against Panasonic obviously.
There is a metal version for the series 9
Can u use this one in the shower?
Yes.
because of the plastics thing, I am not going to bay it
you are saying other people rewieved this shaver didnt have much beard growth? you dont have much either LOL
I hate when manufactures paint plastic parts with a chrome finish to make them look like metal. If it's plastic, just be honest about it. This looks really cheap and sad but they still charge you $300 for it. Shame on you Braun! Deal breaker indeed!
Johnny Exactly, especially when those cheap chrome peels off, oh man, the product looks even worse !
All plastic body? Nope.
I'm with you. Who cares if it gives an excellent super close shave, that is NOT what I'm paying for.
zlistcelebrity you're kidding right?
You guys should try the Panasonic Arc5 ES-LV95,won't regret it
@Floyd1504 hes being sarcastic
everything is made of plastic nowadays.
Nice 1 :)
Love the video man. Just a little Tip for future reviews: try n shorten it a little bit. A little bit too much story telling. Could've been shorted a minute or 3 :) other than that lovin the videos
you need to shave your hands holly molly
shave his hands ? ...what sort of man shaves his hands smh
Yes it's plastic duh! Who wants to shave with an all metal shaver that weighs 5 pounds??
your hairy, Italian?
My 99 cent razors with better☺
The series 9 sucks. I purchased a series 3 to see if it is better.
What a Dick.
My 9260s is great
Other than price, how would the 3 be better other than price?
When you came across the big fat black charger forget about it i
Won't buy it not going to finish watching best fight predictor Rocky and founder of boxing vs UFC
